The owner and staff are very welcoming and were a lot of help with coordinating the shower and getting what we needed for the set up. I would definitely recommend hosting an event here. They couldn't believe how fun it was, and how much we learned about the city we have lived in for many years! Al does an excellent job telling fun facts about the history of Orange, (and even sells a book about the City of Orange which we have a copy of). While doing this during the Christmas season added the lights to the Wine Trolley tour, this is a fun event all year round. My friends are hoping we make this a yearly event and, another friend said she is planning to do this for her employees next year for their Christmas party. The Wine and food presentation and flavors are amazing! Al and his crew know how to entertain while you enjoy a ride through the City of Orange! In my opinion this is one of the best things going on in Orange County! Thank you for a fun memory with great friends!!!

All I knew is that there was going to be food and wine for duration of an hour and a half and so I was super excited about that! Once our group of girls got seated in the trolley our host for the night explained what our tour was going to entail. We were going to visit ten local restaurants around old town Orange and enjoy different kinds of wines along the way. We each got our wine sippy cup and we were off! As we drove around Old town Orange I really enjoyed learning about the history of the city as well as learning about some of the historic sites. I actually live in Orange and I never knew that the center park was actually called the Plaza and not the circle. When we were ready to stop at the first place I was actually surprised that we didn't have to hop off but actually the restaurants brought the food to us in the Trolley! Each place gave us a small introduction of their food and business and gave us some small bites of some of their popular dishes. By the end of the tour I was pretty stuffed. Our group had such a great time and I only wished the tour lasted all night long..Haha!

My friend chose Best Coast Tours for her wine tasting birthday celebration in Temecula this weekend…read moreand we all had a great time! Our driver/tour guide, Joseph, was awesome. He was so friendly, accommodating, and very knowledgeable... and he let us pick the music (extra points)! We were a group of 9 and did the South OC pickup from San Juan Capistrano. The shuttle van fits a total of 14, so we were joined by another couple and pair of sisters, who thankfully, were really cool people, so it wasn't awkward at all. The shuttle van was very comfortable and Joseph provided waters and snacks, but you can also bring your own if you like. We visited 4 wineries in total, tastings and winery tours were included in the ticket price, and most wineries offer a 10-25% discount on bottle purchases through Best Coast Tours as well. You can even order your lunch in advance, not included in the ticket price, to be delivered during your lunch stop on the tour. We chose that option and enjoyed our lunch seated at a table on the grass listening to live music. Everything was so convenient and we really got lucky with the beautiful weather. Overall it was a great experience, I would definitely recommend Best Coast Tours to anyone from SoCal looking to spend a day out in Temecula without any of the stress of planning and coordinating. The ticket price is very reasonable considering everything that's included. Don't hesitate!

Our 1st stop was at Danza del Sol because they're the earliest that opens in the valley at 10:30am. Known for their whites, the Estate Sauvignon Blanc was my favorite there. They gave us a production tour before heading off to the next winery. Oak Mountain was everyone's least favorite. Sure, the cave tour was interesting, their charcuterie board was pleasant to the eyes and palate, though sadly, their wines were horrible. Lunch is not included in the package so I was able to choose where to go - Bolero at Europa Village. Reservations were made in advance, thanks, Joseph and he dropped us off there giving us about 1.5 hours before picking us up to continue with our tour next door. Our last stop for the day turned out to be my number one out of all the 3 wineries. Callaway has beautiful grounds, they have a more high end vibe, and the wines were better in quality relatively speaking. I enjoyed their 2019 Winemaker's Reserve Chardonnay, 2018 Wild Yeast Viognier, 2018 Wild Yeast Petite Sirah, and 2018 Wild Yeast Cab Sauv. I only wish we stayed outdoors to soak in the weather and scenery but the tasting was indoors so we hung out at the bar inside. We spent about an hour at each winery and by 3:30pm, we were ready to head back to OC. Joseph was a great guide all in all. While driving, he would tell us bits of interesting information about the wineries, stables, etc. we'd see along the way - very knowledgeable and pleasant to work with. Everyone had a grand time!

Yet we must choose each step we take with utmost caution, for the footprints we leave behind are as important as the path we will follow. They're part of the same journey -- our story." ― Lori R. Lopez, Dance Of The Chupacabras What an amazing event this was! OC Meets Napa and Baja, presented by Community Health Center AltaMed, brought primarily Latino-centric restaurants and chefs in Orange County and Latino-owned wineries in Napa and Baja together in a celebration of culture. Proceeds from all the ticket sales went toward supporting the Orange County health services and programs that AltaMed spearheads in underserved communities. When I was Housing Manager for the City of Huntington Beach, I funded Alta Med through the City's CDBG program and am very knowledgable about the great services they provide especially in a country that still has an imperfect and expensive healthcare system. What was cool about this event was actually seeing, meeting and talking to the chefs/winemakers. These are the people who chose their path, who chose their own story. The passion from chefs such as Beto Ygei from 930 Sushi (excellent spicy yellowtail), Carlos Selgado of Taco Maria (wonderful scallop here), Gabbi Patrick (I think they did a scallop dish too), Rogelio Martinez of Casa Oaxaca (so excited was he about his sorbets and ice cream), and winemakers such as Alex, Oscar and Lola Llamas (best wines at event and great people too who invited us to hang out afterwards). This is the type of event that I love to attend and is only second to the San Jose Jazz Festival as favorite yelp events of this kind that I was lucky enough to get tickets from Yelp. Was disappointed in the Baja wines as there was little balance or flavor with those wines, and a lot of rustic smells and astrigent finishes. However given that when traveling the local wines always taste better when you are visiting their area (Cinque Terre was an example of this where the wines are fabulous only when you are outdoors on a patio with a great view eating a sublime pesto dish in Italy), I will visit Baja soon and visit the better wineries on their home turf ;-) Thanks again Yelp for this event! It was warm and muggy but there was plenty of food and drink for all the guests to enjoy. Some of my favorite food vendors were Anepalco's Cafe, Taco Maria, Gabbi's Mexican Kitchen, and Deckman's en el Mogor. Wine was definitely plentiful as was the food. There was a wine wheel that you could spin for $20, which went to the Women in Action charity and in turn you won a wine bottle valued anywhere from $40 to $80. I won an $80 bottle of wine. It was pretty awesome. There were tables for all the guests to lounge and mingle at. The event was held at Mission San Juan Capistrano which I had never visited before. The 2021 Laguna Cabernet Sauvignon was incredibly smooth, with low acidity and soft, well-integrated tannins--exactly the kind of wine I love. Every sip was balanced, approachable, and enjoyable. It's absolutely worth the visit and is perfect for a weekend getaway or even a two-day trip. The tasting was personal and welcoming. The people here truly know what they're doing. They don't just work at the winery--they helped create the wines themselves, and hearing the stories behind each bottle made the experience even more meaningful. If you're looking for an authentic California wine experience with beautiful surroundings, exceptional hospitality, and delicious wines, I highly recommend making the stop.
