They had an amazing selection of wine at great prices. I love getting wine for guests, for special occasions and to have a great variety from experts it's nice to go somewhere where they know their stuff. This place had lots of great wine from Portugal and other parts of the world. I love both Italian and Portuguese wine and they had some really nice selections. This place is a hidden gem. They carry a wide variety of wines. They are not the typical brands you see in your basic liquor store. I've tried some great wines from here. They are reasonably priced, offer online ordering, and frequently run specials. The store is a small little space, but they manage to stock sooo many wines and some bubbles. Staff is knowledgeable and friendly. I love coming here to stock up my wine rack and will continue to do so. read more

What a fantastic find! This is the wine store for people who want to explore and get a little adventurous with wine labels you might not have tasted or seen before. We spent about 30 minutes talking to the lovely staff member who knew EVERYTHING about the wines we selected and was super helpful. This isn't your typical liquor store; this is an experience. She even mentioned that pre-COVID, they did tastings, etc. I can't wait to get back to normal at some point and come back and visit. This is a VERY hard place to find. It's in an industrial park, and the signage isn't great. Drive around slowly, and you will find it. I promise you that it's worth it. This wonderful store has been known for many great things, including the awesome folks who work there- Lori, Billy, and Tom!!, a great selection of wines, a clean and well run store, well run, fun, and interesting wine tastings, and fantastic prices and occasional super discounts for buying in bulk! The Wine Cellar took a turn recently, a bad turn. For years they have offered wines at wonderful prices, however, as of two weeks ago that changed dramatically! This is too bad, because this place had set itself apart from other wine stores with their phenomenal prices and discounts and the awesome people who work there. We will still go there, but we will be buying fewer wines, a lot fewer, due to the drastic price increases. read more

WOW. I I thought for sure that Google maps was confused and sending me on a wild goose chase. Even when I pulled up to the parking lot for the industrial looking Row of businesses that my map marked as the Wine Cellar Outlet, I thought that it must be an office for some kind of retail chain somewhere else. When I saw that it was open, I thought for sure it must be open to wholesalers only. Then, I walked in and was greeted by a very nice, extremely knowledgeable young woman who welcomed me, listened patiently to my rambling about searching for reasonably priced and good wine and somehow ended up here, she smiled and said they get that a lot and then she recommended two red wines. And (AND) she said they would only cost $13 for both!!! I bought them, tried them, loved them both, and I can't wait to get back over there and see if they have more of those and others that I am eager to try. This was a great find. read more

Just discovered them through yelp a few months ago. I thought it was new but soon found out they had been around for 7 years so I don't know how I didn't hear about them sooner! It's in a primarily industrial area of Wallingford and if you don't know it's there you'd easily miss it- there's a small sign at the end of the street stuck in the ground but that's it as far as an indicator. GPS will get you to a circular driveway so make sure you enter the left driveway. This place is great if you're into trying new kinds of wine- I'm not a wine connoisseur by any sense but I can say that the varieties I've tried have ranged from decent to [by my definition] really good. The service has been good during my 2 visits- they had a few bottles open for tasting and have helped me select wine that I would like based in my typical preferences. I lucked out the first time I went there because they were doing a 3 for $23 sake AND they were offering a free bottle of wine for checking in on Yelp! When u was there I signed up for the text and email alerts, which spurred the latest visit because they were running the 3 for $23 once again so I ran in after work on a Saturday to pick up 3, ended up with 6 (oops!). I believe they also do a referral or rewards program from what a couple customers were saying during my last visit. Side note- I like Cabernet Sauvignon and I tried a Malbec at the tasting station and loved it so I grabbed 2 different varieties. My other fave is Sauvignon Blanc so I window shopped and got random bottles based on label and description (what can I say, I'm a sucker for cool and/or fancy labels). Most of the time we have an excellent wine tasting and buying experience. Come in here expecting to get great wines for EXCELLENT prices! Go for the whole case and you can get bottles as cheap as 6.50 per bottle for a normally 12-15 range! Not your usually selection, bring your adventurous spirit and you will not be disappointed!! We have since found one of our favorite new wines here! Cons: staff is friendly and helpful, organization can be sticky, be aware of timing for "Refer a Friend" to receive your complimentary bottle of wine! read more

This place ripped me off! The cashier charged me for 6 bottles of wine even though I only had 5. I noticed and then she said that she had voided the 6th one so it wouldn't be charged on my card. Well, the next week I see the full charge on my card! I called the store and left a message for them to call me and explain what was happening. No one called me back so I went to the store, the manager was there and she said that she already knew about it and that she had to do a "return" instead of a void and that it would be fixed within a few days. (She knew about it, heard my call but never called me back to let me know what was happening) Well, it's been over a month and the charge has never been credited to my credit card. I'm filing a complaint with the Better business bureau today. No one even apologized to me. I was ready to tell all my friends about this place and I really wanted to like it but there is no way I would ever trust this place again. Just bad business, bad customer service and bad management! They should be ashamed of themselves read more
