5/5 would recommend this place for a fun wine tasting! I was planning a bachelorette and was looking for a low-key, fun daytime activity and was referred to The Wine Bottega by a cousin who lives in the North End... and at first, I was a little skeptical: a tasting in the basement of a wine shop? But I'm so happy we did. For a group of 10 of us, we were able to sample 8 wines and Kim - the owner and event organizer - also selected in 4 types of cheeses, 2 olive oils, 4 types of salumi meats, breads and tiny champagne grapes for us to pair and nosh on. The wines were all great and the food really hit the spot! She was also very accommodating and helped us decorate the space with beautiful farm-fresh flowers. She's very knowledgeable and each wine has a fun story to learn about. Not stuffy at all, but very informative. I'd highly recommend this to anyone who wants a fun wine experience!

Staff was friendly. Wine selection was good. Attended a wine tasting here and met some really nice people who also attended. They offered six wines to taste and three types of cheeses paired with it. The surrounding area is touristy with a high level of foot traffic. This place keeps its authentic vibe and, again, the staff were super helpful. Checking in will give you 10% off a bottle.

This was one of the stops on our food tour and it did not disappoint! While here we were able to taste a white (Cellario Langhe Favorita) and red (Ampeleia Unlitro) wine. Both were fantastic options for a tasting without being too "weird or out there" since there are so many different kinds/blends of natural wines. Kerri is extremely knowledgeable in all things natural wine and her passion shows in everything she says. She spoke about the relationships she's built by selling natural wines, the science behind the process, the vast array of grape options, tips on how to search for/identify and ask wineries about their wine making process and encourages you to branch out from your standard options if you see an "odd" wine on the wine list. All in all this was a great stop and I wish we could have bought a bottle or two to take home and share with friends. If you're in the area and she's offering a tasting, don't miss the opportunity!

Got the bottle from the right :))). Super tasty.

The Manager (perhaps owner) that I met was terrific. Very knowledgeable and provided great insight into organic/ natural wines.

We happened upon it across from the train station. The selection was decent, and it WAS funny to see a Dunkin Donuts counter there. I don't know the area but I am sure the reason for this is the train station across the street. Some people like having a coffee place for convenience either before boarding a train or right getting off a train. Anyway, we found a selection (a red, don't remember what kind)and had no problems being 'followed' as people of color in the area. For a selection and nice store I'm compelled to only 3 stars, as we were not offered help with our purchase.

I then had to ask for a Powerball slip from the store clerk/cashier. I find that odd. Why are they not on display? After that I decided to buy a couple of scratch tickets. When I started to scratch the guy then says oh we don't do scratching in here or something like that! I have NEVER been in ANY place big ,small, gas station, convenience store and liquor store that has acted like this! There also were barely any selections of tickets. That was not the case years ago. The old clerks were nice! It's real simple. If you don't want to provide proper lottery services, why did you become an agent? I haven't been ever since.

This place is your above-average corner quick mart. Three-and-a-half stars might be more appropriate. A bit more spacious, a bit more well lit, and a bit cleaner than one would normally expect - this place starts out above par but add the beer and wine license and it definitely pushes it well above convenience store mediocrity. You won't be wowed by anything in here - there is nothing too unusual or exceptional, however it is large enough to offer a bit of a wider selection. No one is very friendly here however service certainly isn't rude or poor, and while you may be able to count on some cross-eyed looks from Keno patrons, it never extends to the point of feeling uncomfortable. And the prices are pretty much fair market. Yes, your Lean Cuisine and Ben & Jerry's may cost you more than they would at Stop & Shop, but not exorbitantly so. And who expects big-box prices from a corner store? All in all, I am happy to have a place where I can leave my kitchen and be contentedly back there with some last-minute cream for coffee, milk for cereal, or wine for dinner all in under ten minutes and twenty bucks. Better still that it's coming from a clean, safe, small neighborhood business.

Typical overpriced liquor store in an expensive part of Boston in the west suburbs right off of Commonwealth. I don't drink so I don't care how overpriced it is - I just came here for some water. But if you're coming here for liquor, it might be a little out of your price range. Then again you're on Yelp so you're probably not poor. Lol. But it's still a good store because I know a lot of you love to drink and these stores are invaluable to you then basically. Pretty good selection too, and friendly enough. Prices are on the expensive side, but fairly standard for Harvard Square prices. They have the customary selection of beers, wines, liquors, and mixers, but they also have a section of Harvard apparel (like T-shirts, sweatshirts) and Harvard memorabilia (like keychains, mugs, coasters, etc), so it is a great place to also pick up some souvenirs while you are shopping for your beer! I also like that they sell accessories to complement your drinking, like plastic martini glasses and plastic shot glasses for a party. Their hours online might not necessarily reflect when you are able to buy alcohol. I walked in after 11pm one night and even though they were still open, I was told that they cannot sell alcohol after 11pm (not sure if that is only on specific nights or if this is a nightly rule).
