Thankful for the addition of Oak Street Eats to the southwest! Due to limited options for late…read morenight eating, this venue is much needed and much appreciated. Just learned about it last Saturday from Ike's Cafe, one of the Jollof Festival vendors. Upon further research, I discovered that several restaurants were located in Oak Street Eats. Most stay open late and suggest consulting website (https://oakstreeteats.com/) for hours and menus. By the time I started checking for options I noticed that Ike's was closing @2 per website. Upon additional research, I was fascinated by the offerings of The Naked Burger and had late, late food options including the Beef Birria burger combo that I ordered. It came with French fries, a soda and options including consome. Also ordered a vegetarian burrito. The online order did not take, so ordered on site at venue. Observed the patrons picking up orders from the tablet check-in, which prompted the opening of corresponding lockers with the food orders. Appear to be many of the delivery service workers retrieving the majority of orders. Our orders did not take too long, and were freshly cooked. The french fries were perfection! The vegetarian burrito came with a spinach wrap, and although small it was flavorful. The Birria burger was okay, and mainly ordered because I've never had Birria in burger form before. It definitely did need the consome, which needed a bit more spice. My drink was actually a can, which worked out fine since I had requested no ice. Lol. The price point was a bit high for small portions, but the trade-off was having decent late night food options. There is ample parking in front of the venue and across the street. The parking across the street may need better signage as most people parked on the one-way street, and also saw people going in the wrong direction on that one-way street. Definitely need to be cognizant of your surroundings.

We ended up here out of the blue looking for a quick place to eat and it didn't disappoint…read more We lucked up that it wasn't busy when we arrived and we didn't have to wait long to order our food. I believe we waited for about 15-20 minutes for them to fix 4 different orders plus there was two customers in front of us. The tacos were on point and the elote was not only good but enough to share with. We also had the mango agua which was refreshing and delicious. There is not a lot of seating inside so if it's busy you'll be eating in the car or taking it to go. You can see the entire kitchen from the front so you can watch the prepare your food. It's quieter inside as well which made it a perfect, quick stop for lunch. I highly recommend stopping through when you're in the area, I know I will hunt for it again when in ATL.

The food was very good, the egg rolls were juicy and didn't need any sauce at all. The sauce was different it didn't taste like I thought it would. Extremely easy to miss the restaurant, as you have to pull into a well-weathered parking lot and find an unmarked destination (No signs and small, minimal identifiers). The only reason that I found it, is because I was familiar with the previous iterations and already knew where I was going. A little "Hole-in-the-Wall", in a non-descript location, little fanfare and recognition, but ample good food. (The 82 "Health Score" didn't give me sunshine and rainbows though) Over the years the location has been home to a mix of varied Vegan cuisine, but whatever the name of the restaurant, they continue to churn out good food and continue to fight the good fight. The customer service was great, the serving size was suitable and the food was pretty solid. The greens and cabbage might have been a bit overly cooked, but as a long time Vegetarian, I understand that to appeal to a demographic beyond the Vegan/Vegetarian set, different cooking/flavoring methods and techniques have to be used sometimes (No harm, no foul, just an observation). Be mindful of the "Kajun" portion of the restaurant name, as the food had a noticeable "Kick", but not overbearing or so ridiculous, that it took away from the taste. This business is poised to be another great Plant Based dining experience (I hope will not remain a secret with larger signage) A slight change in ownership is changing the name. I was able to drop in before closing to grab some "Liquid Gold"- a drink made of Turmeric, Ginger,Orange,Carrot,Lime & pineapple. To my surprise they also had Ginger Oil and other organic oils on display for sale(Moms Organic Oils). They have Rosemary,Thyme,Wild Cherry Bark, Elderberry. Service was excellent from a cheerful staff- although closing, they were willing to take time and explain their products, menu and upcoming treats.
