I couldn't eat. I couldn't sleep. eventually that kind of thing takes a chunck out of your mental health. still I tried to talk to someone as I was beginning to become depressed, agitated, and frankly suicidal. I just wanted the pain to end. they did not dose me based on what I was using before going in, they give everyone the same dose and expect them to get through it. I knew my best chance for success was to go up on the methadone and be discharged to a clinic to stay on it so that I could get more help that way and eventually come off of it. I had never felt so much pain and discomfort in my life. I just wanted it to end. I tried talking to a social worker, I tried to let them know how I was feeling, so that hopefully someone would talk to me and be supportive and help me through these feelings of utter despair. they kept yelling at me and kept telling me "no!" so I said I wanted to leave even though I didn't. if someone had just been kind to me, if someone had just spoke to me, i might have made it. now it feels like because I am what I am that they were not willing to help me. they discontinued the methadone and wasn't going to help me get into the clinic. if you or a loved one is reading this, I would advise that you find somewhere else. somewhere better. where they can see a patient feeling pain and bad thoughts and talk them through it. otherwise they are going to make you feel small and uncomfortable and your choice to be there might have been the biggest mistake of your life. I am home now. I tried to die. I didn't thankfully. I did finally get some sleep and was able to keep food down. they would not allow me to safely call for a ride in the hospital once I told them I wanted to leave. then when I was outside one of the nurses came out and told me to get off their property while I waited for an uber. I never felt such shame in my life. these are not nice people. these are "professionals" who sent a suicidal girl home because she was in too much pain to eat or sleep. and the second I did finally sleep they woke me up. I couldn't believe it. I could not get back to sleep. the withdrawal was too much. I don't want anyone else to have to ever go through what I went through there. don't send your loved ones to adcare hospital. because they might just leave and die before they get the help they need. thank you for reading this and I hope it has helped at least one other person to avoid such shame.

I kept quiet though. I think she may have met " let's stay only on track with your prescriptions and will not talk about anything else" Which is quite sad! Even just taking out bad foods has helped about 30-40%. Then adding supplements helped another 20-40%!! So I was almost in the clear. Needless to say I just came for the only support they can offer and did the rest own my own. I do recommend for physical therapy but when you talk more deeply about healing the body even faster and more efficient with diet and vitamins, they don't seem to be interested in that area.

We were very clear what his needs were and she said it was not a problem and they could care for him. Four days after my father moved in the administration said they could not care for him. That was such discouraging news after we were told they could care for him. The staff is unpleasant and appear to not enjoy their jobs. Most could barely say hello when passing in the hall. The administrator is passive aggressive. She will twist any concerns and make the family the bad guys. After several months of misery for our father and us we are so happy our father is no longer there. He was in rough shape due to their lack of care. His is thriving in his new facility. Tatnuck Park had a great reputation many years ago. Not so much now.
