Summer in Scotland does not usually comes so when we saw the sun coming out of the clouds this last Sunday we grabbed the opportunity and made it a day trip towards Ballater. On the way there we've thought of having lunch and we stopped on the White Cottage to check it out - we did not know anything about it. The place was packed (and it is in the middle of nowhere). Then by chatting to other people in the restaurant while waiting to be sited, we were informed that the owner is pretty popular and favorite to the public with fans following him around Aberdeenshire for more than 30 years now. He actually says that he would like to retire but the people do not allow him to do so! Well if someone is following you for more than 30 years, you defo are doing something well!
The food was lovely we had the soup of the day (creamy crab) the tart (feta cheese with caramelized onions) and the curry (British carry medium hot). For dessert had the sticky toffee to share :)
The ambiance is nice, romantic and a bit vintage with antiques being sold along with some jewelry...
