I was here about 2 weeks ago during COVID-19 and was first approached by a young lady who came within arms reach and asked about the size of my party. I had to ask several times to get the 6' required social distancing. After that we spoke and I decided that I'd like to try the upstairs section. After splitting 10 feet between two different tables I was apprehensive of the COVID protocols.
After going upstairs the hostess went past a party sitting and a staff cleaning their station. I stopped. When she noticed I simply said I did not know how to split 4 feet between the aforementioned parties and keep six feet from either let alone both.
She then led me back downstairs and asked if a particular table would suffice. I did again have to get too close to someone sitting and therefore not wearing masks, but took the table.
I ordered a beer from the waiter and looked over the menu. When he returned I said the menu looked a bit pricey. He suggested a poutine and I asked about the chicken as the menu states it's a chicken poutine, but the ingredients don't mention chicken. He assured me it had chicken in it. I stated I preferred traditional poutine. He said he could have it made without chicken. I said that works well.
So my favourite part of poutine is the cheese. This order was baked in the oven and the cheese was a melted spot of goo where cheese should be. The gravy was also a semblance of what was possibly better before the oven baking. In all it appeared as though previously cooked fries were mixed in this menagerie if something I would never say was poutine. I'm not going to rush back. read more
