They say walk ins are welcomed but that is far from the truth. I arrived shortly after opening and there were no customers. I was brusquely informed by the barber that they were waiting for a scheduled appointment. Clearly not an ambitious shop. My cut is simple and can be done by a competent barber in under 15 minutes. In fact, went to a nearby barber, walked in, was graciously welcomed and was in and out in under 15 mins. I was so pleased, I gave a 50% tip. read more

He was gracious and was able to squeeze me in among their booked schedule for a quick fade to make me a respectable human again! Do not try to walk in to this place. It says "walk-ins welcome" all over but you're basically invisible if you don't have an appointment. It borders on disrespectful. They could tell you that they don't have time, but instead pretend you're not there. read more

Walked in today for a buzz cut, no greeting whatsoever until one of the barbers just said "name?" without another word. I responded with my name and then had audacity to ask how long he thinks it will be. He didn't respond at all. I asked again if he can tell me and he just just "no" in a rudest possible way. Then he proceeded to educate me on the intricacies of barber art by saying "every haircut is different, if you are not here when we call your name too bad." There is a way of being direct and a way of being rude for no reason. He chose the latter and enjoyed it seemingly. I politely said thanks and walked out to never return again. Which is what I recommend to others unless of course one has masochistic tendencies. Avoid it for your own sake. read more

My son went in for his first haircut at the Whiskey Barber and I could not stop laughing at how awful a haircut it was. The only saving grace was that they left enough hair to go to another place where someone who knew what they were doing could fix it. He went in with a full head of curly hair and asked to have it cut short in the back with a little curl up top. He ended up looking somewhere between Peter Brady on a really bad hair day and a curly hair MacGyver with a mullet. When he walked in the shop the first thing the haircutter said was "I'm only cutting your hair once" which seemed an ominous foretelling of what was to come. He wouldn't let my son look in the mirror while he was getting the haircut. By the end, the only thing to do was to leave as quickly as possible and make an appointment with someone else to fix it. Such a great experience at this place! We were in the area on vacation, when we found this place on Yelp! We were sad to find out that, understandably, you must bring your own whiskey. They have shelves of whiskey that they keep there for the regulars. Two adults and two children received great haircuts with last minute appointments. After reading the reviews, I was on the fence about trying this place out. I'm glad I did. Here's the deal: people with appointments, particularly regulars / locals, are going to get priority. If you are walking in (like I did), expect to wait patiently for a slot where they can fit you in. Your patience will be rewarded with a surprisingly meticulous haircut. These guys take their craft seriously. If you are in a rush and don't have an appointment, this isn't the spot for you. If you have some time to chill and read a magazine, go for it. Doors closed as I stepped into "Teton Barbers", but they were very accommodating by suggesting "Whiskey Barber". Arrived at Whiskey with 5 min prior to close. Haircut took place just before closing, but my barber took his time making sure I was satisfied. Having a place like this back home would be awesome. My barber cut 95% of my hair with scissors. The other 5% of my cut was with clippers to trim my neck and beard. Awesome job. Thx for the great haircut and great service. read more

I got my haircut here on a Saturday and I made an appointment for 10:30 AM. I walked straight in and got in a chair. One of the co-owners was my barber (the Whiskey Barber). He was a really cool and genuine guy. He gave me a great fresh cut but whats-more was the experience I got. Half way through my haircut, every chair was filled and people were interacting. We talked travel, work and whiskey. I had planned on trying Wyoming Whiskey in a local bar but after catching a glimpse of it in the shop, we talked about it and he asked if I wanted to pour a little nip. So, I got to try the whiskey before I bought it and I got a bit of a history lesson in the process. I got more than a haircut. I got an experience. read more

I've had my haircut here by two different guys multiple times over the past year. It's great each time! They're awesome people and the shop is cool and comfortable. The only reason I'm not giving it 4 stars is it's a bit on the pricey side for a simple haircut. Have a cousins wedding in Jackson this weekend. Stopped into town and this was the first place I saw. Ironically my computer died as I was searching for a place and when I just got back to the ranch now, I see that Whiskey Barber was in fact the first link I clicked on. What a riot. Dub gave me a fade. All with clippers. He took his time, and I wondered a few times what is this gonna look like, as one thing I noticed was all the barbers cut their customers hair with their back to the mirror. I don't know if that was a weird analysis of if in fact that's how they do it until the "final reveal". Well needless to say I was surprised to see one of the flyest haircuts I have ever received. Lots of locals walked in. Everyone seemed to know each other and it seemed really pleasant. Dub is from VT and has actually been to Gloucester where I'm visiting from so conversation goes a long way. Worst haircut I've had in years. They were busy, but I felt like just a number in line. The barber failed to listen to what I was saying and just did his own thing. When I asked him about it he used barber talk to tell me I didn't tell him using the right words. I may just shave my whole head and start over. I don't really love any of the barbers in town, but if you must get a cut I reccomend Teton Barbers. At least I've never had a bad cut there. read more
