At one point, another attorney joined the call and openly criticized the firm, stating they were "all over the place." I escalated my concerns to management and was told nothing could be done because the consultation had technically been "provided," despite no advice being given. I then paid an additional fee to speak with management, only to find that they also lacked familiarity with key family law issues and provided inaccurate information that I had to correct. I was quoted a higher retainer and told it would likely be consumed before even entering court. When I asked to speak with or interview the attorney who would handle my case before paying a retainer, I was told this was not allowed. I was informed I would have to pay first and only afterward determine whether the attorney was competent or a good fit. A broader concern is the firm's retainer structure. Clients are required to pay thousands upfront, only to see those funds quickly exhausted through billing before meaningful litigation occurs.
