The Weigh Station's(WS) balanced protein lifestyle approach works.Since March 30,2016, I have lost 70 lbs in 8 months and ,feel better, dropped 10 in BMI, 27 total inches, BP numbers dropped by 20 points, A1C improved, more flexibility, and improved my quality of life. I have had a difficult time following the eating plan and weekly recommended visits, since i have been out of town alot camping and my insurance cost have greatly risen and have had to reduce expenses, but I have had success also.The staff are qualified ,comprised of Dr., and nurses, dieticians, and a full available helpful, friendly,and encouraging support staff. WS has a website and FB page having helpful recipes, and also a monthly newsletter with suggestions. There isn't any pressure, they answer our questions, they pray for the success of their customers I believe, and are very encouraging. They are a Christian based group who believe a favorite verse I like, Philippians 4:13," I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." Although it is somewhat expensive and my ever increasingly expensive health insurance doesn't pay at all, the health benefits are measurable and I recommend it. It's a healthy way to lose weight, it requires a change in our eating lifestyle to be successful, it is worth the investment of time and money. I have had a phenomenal experience at The Weigh Station! I cannot say enough super amazing things about Dr. Shaffer and Laurie the nurse I routinely had weekly visits with, and Marilyn...extraordinary staff on all levels with super huge hearts! They are an integral part of my self-esteem building, Faith filled journey of life changing honest weight loss. I faltered when I let stress get the best of me. I came into them and they lifted my spirits and encouraged me to continue my journey for weight loss and in Faith and their strength and wisdom I am forever changed. The attention and care the staff and Dr have provided is outstanding. I have delt with weight issues for over 25 years. I went in there spectacle in May 2024 that this would be another program that would fail for me. A fad diet that I would follow for a few months and then go back to my normal. I have been in the full program with weekly meetings and decided I would also do the semaglutide shots as well. I started my at 295 lbs I began with the food management portion for the 1st month to get my eating under control. I lost about 10 lbs doing this the 1st month. I then started with the .50 shot to help with my weight loss moving forward. I am now 9 months into the program and down to 220 lbs. I still follow the diet with a cheat here and there but i am glad i was able to do the food management part first because that actually showed me the right way to eat. I am still overweight and I hope that by the end of 2025 i reach my goal of 130 lbs and get to live a healthy life moving forward. Thank you to the great staff and Dr at the weight station. I've been going to Weigh Station for just over a year now and I'm half of my old self. I never thought I could do this in my late fifties. A year ago Dr. Shaffer said if you listen and follow my directions you will lose 100 pounds in six months. Being someone who needed to lose 150 pounds I heard that and thought that maybe I could do it. I lost just over 90 pounds in six months and now I'm nearing 150 pounds at my first year anniversary. It is unbelievable to me. I follow the plan carefully, read labels, and prepare ahead of time. I'm truly not starving. It is hard at the start to give up so many things, but it amazed me that I don't really miss them that much. The support I receive from Lori, Marilyn, and Dr. Shaffer keep me motivated. I go to the weigh station to get massages by Robbie. He is the best therapist I have ever been to. Not only is he professional, he is able to tailor the service to meet your particular needs and always ask if there is a certain area to focus on. Not only is the massage relaxing but so is the environment. He has also taught me stretches I can do at home to keep my neck and shoulder muscles stretched out. read more

He always makes sure to ask if there are any particular problem areas I would like him focus on (for me it is often my neck due to headaches).
