I made an appointment a few days ago for today at 2 pm. I'm leaving the country for my honeymoon and this was the only day I could do it before I left. I have never been professionally waxed before and was excited. I get there at 1:55 and the place was CLOSED. Got in touch via cell phone with the owner and she informed me that ALL of her employees were out of town and her sister, who was supposed to be watching the store 'must have left early'. She then proceeded to ask me if I could stick around for 45 min (after I LEFT WORK for this and drove 20 min). I said I couldn't. Then she said she could be there in 30 min and she would give me 50% off. Fine. This was the only time slot I had. This conversation happed at 2:04 pm. 2:34 came and passed. Her mother showed up looking for her and visibly irritated that no one was there. She informed me that Mardi Gras was where all the employees were. WHY a business owner would allow every employee off in the same weekend is beyond me. Then her mother said that the sister had to leave to take her 4-year-old to the dr. I get that, but there should have been communication with the owner for her to come up there if the sister couldn't stay all day. Or AT LEAST call the rest of the appts. and cancel them. This was at 2:39. Her mother called her and she was then 15 min away. 2:54 came and went. I waited until 3:10 before driving off. I wasted an hour and 45 min of my time for literally nothing. Not a place I would recommend to anyone that has to stick to an actual schedule. Can't speak to any of their work since I didn't have anything done other than sitting in a parking lot for over an hour. read more

I have nothing to say but good things about this place, not just the place but the people working here. This was my first brazilian and let me tell you was PAINLESS!...The staff is wonderful and they treat you like a friend. For the Brazilian Pia took care of me and she is a really nice person and very professional, we had a nice conversation and I forgot about any shame. For the full legs (was my first time too) Lizzie took care of me, she is also really professional too. I'm so glad I found this place trough the wonderful reviews from this page and as a picky client I just don't think I need to look to other places for sure!.... As another review said, they also have a hair salon and I'm looking forward to make my appt. for my 30th birthday for a nice makeover. ;) They gave me good advices and explained everything through all the process, was professional and friendly. And for the prices, I think is fair. I'm a happy customer!! and I'll be back soon!! I would love to put 10 stars and not just five. read more

Great customer service, clean/sanitary environment, and amazing results! If you've never been and want to try this out, ask for Casey! They do everything from underarm waxing to full body, they're all very talented and want everyone to feel comfortable. Underarm waxing will be something I don't try again, to me that was the worst pain! But it did yield great results. read more

This place is unorganized and unprofessional. The first time I called they asked if they could put me on hold. Which they did for almost 5 minutes. I hung up assuming they forgot about me and called back. The second time a young man answered the phone in an almost unintelligible voice. I asked if we could be seen today and I was told I could come in now. I told him we didn't have a lot of time could we be seen right away. They told me that wasn't a problem. I was only about 5 minutes away and drove straight there. We walked in and there was no other customers there waiting. We walked up the desk and I told them I had just called on the phone. They proceeded to try and find the new client sheets to fill out, which they were unable to place. After the took down our info we sat and waited. Within 5 minutes of us sitting there a lady walked in and they took her straight back. Another customer than walked in and checked in at the desk. I waited about 15 more minutes before going to the desk to ask how much longer it would be. At that time I was told that we would be after the customer that had just walked in about 15 min after we had gotten there. I inquired into why she would be going before us and was told she had an appt. I then stated that I also called in about 20 min ago for a spot and have been waiting there in the waiting area before she even arrived. I reiterated the fact that we were in a hurry and stated that an eyebrow wax doesn't take as long so could we please be seen first. I was told that we would have to wait until after the other lady. At that time we walked out. I wasted about 30 min of my time for nothing. They were playing favorites by taking regular clients first. Which is not going to get you any more clients in the future. read more

My friend and I made appointments at The Waxing Bar to get Brazilian bikini waxes. I've had them done before, but my friend had not. We were both very impressed with how quickly we were finished. Because we were first time customers, we were able to use the $15 coupon from their website, which was nice. We were also informed that if we come back in three weeks for our next waxing the price drops from $75 o $50. If we go back at four weeks it's $60 and anything over five weeks it's back to regular. Today I had my first wax here. I was so unbelievably scared of the pain and obviously having a complete stranger all up in my hoo-ha. I had a very painful experience before with a home wax so I went in with some PTSD, but as soon as I got in the room & met the stranger I thought I'd feel uncomfortably awkward around, I immediately went to straight chill mode. I knew I was in good hands as soon as i met Pia bc she's got great energy & her place is all about good vibes. Her method of waxing was so impressive bc even though it hurt or stung every now & then, you're not really noticing the pain bc she was so good at keeping me distracted by talking to me. I honestly felt like I was with one of my friends just "shooting the shit" and like I had known her my whole life. I was expecting a "bougie/uptight" med spa experience which is not the the type of person I am at all, but instead it was like kinda being in a laid back tattoo shop kinda vibe getting waxed by a really cool ass chick. I had a full front to back Brazilian and it only took about 25 minutes. Their discounts on FB & IG are very beneficial too with a sense of humor that I enjoy as well This will no doubt be part of my self maintenance from now on. I have to say that I was extremely impressed with my experience here. I was a 1st timer and a little squeamish about a stranger getting up close and personal with my nether region. Pia was great and insured that I felt as comfortable a possible. The waxing itself wasn't especially pleasant, but it wasn't as horrific as I thought it would be either. It's been nearly 2 weeks and the hair that has grown back is not nearly as dense or course, and no ingrown hair or bumps! Woo-hoo! Overall, I will definitely be a return customer! read more

Was recommended to try out the waxing bar after just moving to the woodlands area. Compared to other waxes I had gotten this was significantly more expensive, but I thought if they are that good the cost difference wouldn't be a big deal. I was very unsatisfied with my wax. It was quick but more painful than my previous waxes. And it has only been 4 days sense my wax and I already have new hair growth... Meaning they didn't actually get the hair from the root but just tore it off at the skin :( not fun and feels like a total waste of money. I wouldn't recommend this place. read more

I love this place, it is affordable because there are so many daily specials also everyone there is really nice and make you feel comfortable. The first time I went was in the summer of 2010 and it hasn't change a bit, well except for the location which is much better. I won't lie, the brazilian it's painful but you get pass that because the conversation always gets good and it is easy to get distracted. Pia is really nice and laid back, very patient also. I just can't say enough nice things about this place and everyone here. Even when I got lost in life and didn't went for a while, their welcome was like if I never missed an appointment. My first experience was fantastic. I have been waxing for sometime but my person moved. I have tried several places and thought that this was it..my second appointment didn't happen. I showed.. Katina didn't..45 minutes later the waxer that was there VERY reluctantly said she would do the wax which made me feel like "gee thanks". I drove 30 minutes to get there and I arrived early. I had NO phone call to cancel or a call to change my time. When the reluctant aesthetician called Katina about my appointment she also reminded her of a 10 am she had which by this time it was 9;50am. Had an appointment. Got there 15 minutes early. There were 2 other people waiting before me. Nobody was at front desk. Waited for a while. The other 2 people walked out after 20 minutes. Kept waiting. And waiting. Started saying "hello?" In the lobby several times. Nobody was answering. Called the place while I was in the lobby. Phone rang and rang and rang. Nothing. Nobody. Then finally a lady came from somewhere. Told her I had an appointment. She said the lady I had was running errands??? NO! I have an appointment! I even have the confirmation email. You can't run errands when you should be meeting with people... by the way I'm typing this while I'm STILL sitting in the lobby. 25 minutes after my scheduled appointment. So not a great first impression. Although I'm giving it some stars because she charged me way less than what was listed. And I had a lot of time THAT day. read more
