They were very sweet with her, and they always made her look so pretty. There were appropriate activities all day long. The residents were not forced to participate, but they were able to participate if they were interested. Covid came along after my mother moved in, so I couldn't visit for quite a while, but the activities director allowed me to email notes and photos, which she printed out for my mother to see. The nature of my mother's dementia meant that she didn't notice my long absence, nor did she notice anything else unusual. Meanwhile they just kept on taking very excellent care of her. I would highly recommend this memory care unit to anyone else looking for such care. I can't speak highly enough of it. Debbie B., Bellevue, WA

My father lived here for several years. There are many great features here for the residents, as…read morementioned in the other reviews. The food has changed: Initially the food was delicious and creative. After that chef left, it has been a series of mediocre meals. Main dishes are overcooked and under seasoned. Cooking without salt, using varieties of herbs can result in great food. This food now is blah. The joke at desert when pie is served, is the table mates try to cut the crust by stabbing it with a spoon. It is so tough, they are afraid to bite it with their teeth. The lobby is filled with expensive art, like Chihuly glass. The residents would be better served if the glass was sold and the proceeds were used to hire a great chef. The biggest complaints come when a resident needs extra services. They promise different levels of service options when you take the tour and sign the lease. They represent that they can handle needs ranging from med management, to much more assistance for people with much greater needs as their health declines. In our experience, the meds have been dispensed incorrectly several times, or not refilled in a timely manner such that none were available for a PRN. Also when people return from the hospital, the medication changes and new orders are not always done correctly. The biggest surprise was how few services they actually DO offer. If a person has poor balance and needs constant reminders to use a walker or cane, this won't happen. If help is needed getting out of bed, or off the toilet, that won't happen. This building is basically a lovely apartment home for high functioning people who can manage to live independently. Which works until there is a health event. If you spend a day and watch the elevators, and the lines of people for meals, you will notice private caregivers. Many of them. This is because if your parent has fallen, or weak after the hospital, or forgetful, they will tell you that the need for help is too great for them and they can't provide what you need. Then they threaten to discharge unless you are willing to hire your own personal care helper. That means you pay the full Gardens price , plus the price for the extra one on one private care. It's a very nice building. The director changes almost annually. Most are nice employees, good activities. Be aware that if an illness or a fall change the status of your parent's health, you will be facing much greater expenses, and a lot of extra work, if you want them to continue to live there.....

My beloved mother Barbara spent the last four years of her life at this beautiful place. She was…read morediagnosed with Alzheimer's disease in 2018 and developed a blood infection later that year, both of which required round-the-clock care that my siblings and I are not qualified to provide. Aegis was by far the best of the options we had, and we are all so grateful that our mother found a place here when she did. As locals know, the COVID-19 pandemic in the United States started in residential senior care homes in the Puget Sound area. In the first year of the pandemic, we missed Mom terribly, but we saw what was going on in other care homes and were very afraid for her. However, the staff at Aegis Bellevue did an excellent job of protecting and caring for residents throughout the entire pandemic. Protocols are in place even now - in fact, in the most recent lockdown last December, the manager of the memory-care area (Life's Neighborhood) spent her nights as well as her days there. The staff is that committed to the people they serve. There are far too many wonderful people working here to mention, but particular standouts are Josephine at Reception and Tenaia and Rogers in Life's Neighborhood. Josephine would field weekly calls from my mother's younger sister, and carry her own cellphone to my mother so the two sisters could talk. Josephine also remembered all of my siblings by name after meeting most of us once. There are six of us, and we were all wearing masks, so this was an incredible feat. Among all the caregivers working in Life's Neighborhood, Mom responded to Rogers the most. He is a gentle person with an easy laugh, and my mother just lit up whenever she saw him. I know that his presence reminded her of a happy time in her life, when she and my father were young parents and my older sister and I were babies. Rogers' and Mom's affection for each other was genuine, and so beautiful to see. Tenaia is the manager of Life's Neighborhood, and the wonderful work she does in bringing together staff and residents is beyond description. This is a place where the staff embrace your loved one when they need to move them, where they greet them with real pleasure every day, and where everyone who works with your parents and grandparents treats them with the tenderness and dignity we all deserve. I would not wish Alzheimer's on anyone, but I'm still so glad we had these years with my Mom - and that she spent them at Aegis. Thank you all so much for your loving, respectful care of our mother Barbara. None of the Suttons will ever forget you.

Seemed like the management has problems staying at this place but we can't complain with daily activities when Suzanne was there. We would rate Suzanne 5 star but overall not impressed with Aegis. The upper management doesn't have a clue whats going on with the residents or should I say they don't seem to care. They make a lot of money and have a lot of turnover in the time we were there.

Everyone on the staff seems to know each resident, and have personal connections with the people who live there. Residents range in age from their 70s to over 100. There are movie screening rooms, music performances, community meetings, a pool table, a regular bus for shopping and errands, etc. You can do as much or as little as you want to. My mom was in a group that took a watercolor class away from the building, and they got the community bus to take them to and from class. It is convenient to I-90, on the Sammamish plateau. Note that this is NOT an assisted living facility. This is for people who are self sufficient but don't usually want to bother with cooking. One meal a day is provided, in a very pleasant dining room, and very light apartment cleaning once a week. That means a good meal with friends every day, and the vacumning and dusting are done (bed made too if you want). Beyond that, you do whatever you like to do. When my dad was diagnosed with cancer & was in and out of the hospital, everyone there was very supportive of both of them, and of me. When he died my mom and I were able to provide hospice in the apartment, and a neighbor would check in on her way to lunch to see if my mom wanted her lunch brought to her. But the staff cannot and will not try to provide any medical assistance. There are fancier places being built in the area, but what makes a community work is the people, not the counter tops and carpeting. Living at Bellewood is putting spring in my mom's step and adding years to her life. If you or someone you love is in mid to late retirement and wants to take it easy and just do the fun stuff, check it out. Bellewood - Retirement Living 3710 Providence Point Drive S.E. My grandma Jackie lived in several homes previously but never received such high-quality and compassionate care that Marie provided. My grandmother was a spitfire and very strong-willed, and Marie knew exactly how to have a loving relationship with her and in fact, started referring to her as the General, which our entire family would agree with! When we first got to Marie's my grandma was having a lot of mental health issues and it was Marie who helped us identify that she was overmedicated. So instead of adding more medications to treat the symptoms (like our previous adult family home), we worked with her doctor to reducing the medications and saw immediate results in her health and disposition. My grandma was always well taken care of, bathed, fed, and treated with respect and love. We were a family of two working adults and two kids under the age of four and free time was limited but we always knew that she was in great hands when we couldn't be there. Marie was also loving and welcoming to our family and kids and there was always an open door policy that made us feel comfortable and welcome at any time. Taking care of an aging parent (or grandparent in our case) is never easy but Marie added so much to our lives and to my grandma's life that I will forever be grateful we found her.

I reached out to Solista Bellevue and was assisted by Tabitha and later Nikki as well as the Executive Director, Gina. They made me feel very welcomed when I toured the property and I was impressed at the light and bright facility as well as the friendly residents I met along the way. I was shown a spacious "cottage" that would fit my needs as I was downsizing from a large three-bedroom apartment. The floorplan was lovely and it was on a special "Spotlight" discounted pricing. However, I had a lease and would incur big penalties to break. This is where Gina came to my rescue; telling me about a law that allowed folks in my age group (over 65) to break leases. That, along with a free month's rent, sealed the deal for me. Since moving to Solista (3 months ago) I have enjoyed a carefree lifestyle with inclusive chef curated meals three times a day in the lovely dining room, weekly housekeeping service, multiple daily activities and parties, snacks, coffee, and fruits available in the coffee center, and transportation options (although I do drive and have my own vehicle). On site management, maintenance, chef and kitchen staff and housekeeping teams are extremely friendly, responsive and motivated to serve the residents. In just a few short months, I have made very many new friends and acquaintances. While I am on the younger side, all the residents have embraced me and added a warm and enriched experience. I look forward to my daily encounters with my many new friends and I am treated as a valued member of our community. Solista's location in Bellevue, Washington, is one that provides safety, diversity, and convenience. Bellevue is rated as one of the safest cities in America with top rated police, fire, and ambulance response times. The community reflects a widely diverse population that enriches the community. Finally, Bellevue is located in close proximity to Seattle and all it has to offer in the way of recreational activities, shopping, and dining experiences. Bellevue also offers the same options in a more laid-back suburban setting. Just one mile from Solista is a vibrant shopping district with every selection of stores, entertainment, restaurants, banking and needed services. Additionally, the area is served by multiple world class medical centers including the University of Washington Medical Center and Seattle Cancer Care Alliance. Lastly, Solista can be my long-term home. While it is an independent living setting, as my needs for care change, I am able to contract for individualized care while remaining in my current residence and community. This provides me with peace of mind as I look forward to my senior years with confidence and security. It is my enthusiastic recommendation that if you are considering senior community options, Solista of Bellevue should be at the top of your list!

Over just four days, he gained 14 pounds. We visited every single day and reviewed his chart ourselves. The chart showed no significant weight change until the fourth day, when it suddenly reflected a 10-pound gain. No one contacted us. No one expressed concern. Alarmed, we examined our father ourselves and discovered his feet and legs were massively swollen. This was on a Saturday. When we called the head weekend nurse, he was not at all alarmed. We demanded that a doctor be contacted, but were told that no doctor responded because it was the weekend. To make matters worse, the room smelled like urine, and his medications were disorganized. While weekday care had seemed acceptable, the weekend care was completely unacceptable. Fearing for our father's life, we called 911 and had him transported back to the emergency room. In the first day alone, doctors removed 7 pounds of excess fluid. That fact speaks for itself. This was outrageous and dangerous negligence. If you place a loved one at Covenant Shores, do not rely on what you are told. Go every day. Look at the charts. Look at their body. Ask questions. Trust your own eyes. Never again will we allow this kind of treatment to happen to our family.

First of all, is a perfectly beautiful location on the waterfront. The facility itself is so cute, they put flower pictures everywhere and big cutout of flowers to make it look like you're living in a garden. All the staff works so hard and truly care about the patients. We have been so happy with Rita at the front desk, Christabel the manager, and all our nurses, Mark, and Andrine, Ohnee, Marina, and Julieta in housekeeping. Ofra in charge of activities has been just terrific, we bring my four small kids and she lets them play with some of the activities for the patients and I think all the elderly people enjoy having the energy of the kids around. Oh, and the PT/OT team has been terrific. Susan and Alex work hard every day to get my mom on her feet and moving. Our end goal is, like Rita says, "they roll in and they walk out!" Skilled nursing is a difficult job and I think they all do it with great grace, patients, and care. I highly recommend Covenant living at the shores.
