Of course I love the physical results and how they translate to ease with daily tasks, but for me I love the mental gains I get from the workouts. It helps me manage my stress, I sleep better, and it changes my mindset. The fact that you can do things in the gym that you didn't think you could do crosses over into your life.. or at least it has for me. Mask were required by staff and enforcement of social distancing. These requirements at times were not taken very seriously. Masks around chins and not over the mouth and nose seemed to be more the norm. I understand that we can all have different ways of thinking and that is what freedom is about but when the science and the state requirements were not taken seriously this became very concerning particularly of the owners. I know that now there is no mandates and so when wearing a mask or taking social distancing precautions you re treated differently I feel that it was time to move on. After three years I am sad but my health is more important.

I liked that this gym has free drop-ins and was relatively close to where I live. When I walked in I was not greeted, instead I had to introduce myself and find my way around the gym. I began to do some stretching and grabbed a bar so that we could start class. The instructor was poor. She was anything but a coach. One of the things I like about crossfit is the team-like mentality and the coaching. This had no such thing. The instructor basically read the board to us. She did not demonstrate any of the moves and she did not check for form. When the WOD began, I was struggling with hang cleans as I normally do them with dumbbells. I had to ask for help and when I did she didn't really explain anything. Instead, she said "well you can do them the way you do them since you are more comfortable that way". As we got into the workout she was on her phone, talking to people who had just walked in, and cheering on the people she knew. She did not come check on me, or pay my form any mind. I decided to do jump start my fitness routine and did 1-on-1 personal training with Nate for about 4 weeks. The pricing for this was comparable to other gyms. Nate was very knowledgable and really helped me strive towards learning better form, what exercises worked best for my goals, and always changed up my routine so I didn't get bored. The other staff at SF were very friendly and knowledgable as well. The gym does occasionally get crowded from 4pm-7pm after work, and on Saturday mornings, but most gyms typically do. Still, I never really had to wait to get on a machine or equipment during even the busiest times. The facility was always clean and has showers in the locker rooms. Although I did not participate in the group classes, they do have multiple options and it seemed that people got a lot out of them. I would definately recommend Summer's Fitness to my friends and family.

My son was a member broke his thumb and was not allowed to cancel his membership. How money hungry…read moremust you be to have a broken thumb and still make you pay for boxing classes? They still kept his membership active even after asking him to pay with a broken thumb. He continued to pay. Once I noticed he called again and went in, spoke to the owner RJ who had him fill out paperwork to cancel. He did. Then charges started back up a couple months later. He is now in Colorado he has called, wrote the owner an email. No response. He has disputed the charges but just horrible service. Buyer beware.
