We had a delicious mushroom soup with mains consisting of rib eye and salmon, both well cooked. Great wine choices and the bread was was soft and tasty. Couldn't resist dessert of the apple-rhubarb crumble with custard, which was a delight. All in all, it was a wonderful evening that almost made us think about staying there the next time we were nearby.

The menu is a notch or three above average pub food; my friend had calves' liver with spring greens and mash, and I had a vegetarian sourdough pizza with a side salad of rocker with dressed shallots and grated pecorino cheese. Both were really excellent - my pizza had a deep umami flavour and is one of the best I've eaten. That said, you pay accordingly: the two mains, side salad, with a beer and water, and 12.5% service, came to just shy of £58. Service was very attentive, if rather serious. By the time we left the place was packed with families and couples. So, a good choice for a special meal, but it might be bit too restaurant-priced for some.

Five minutes later, we were back on the road...with reservations for two at 6:45 pm. There is plenty of outdoor seating but we chose to be indoors. We were met by a very welcoming staff. Everyone was so friendly. Our server, Josh, had seated us by the window in minutes. He was very helpful and attentive throughout our dinner. The wine list was varied. There were several beers on tap. My wife chose the liver, cabbage and mashed potatoes. She loved it. I selected the Roast Duck with kale, mashies, sautéed onions and cavalo nero. I thought it was terrific. The decor was an interesting mix of contemporary art, antique prints and old photographs. We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner in this cozy country Inn.

It has a large garden and a play area at the rear of the B&B. A carpark is available on site. The B&B has four bedrooms and the one that we stayed in was very clean and tasfully decorated. My partner and I, We are very fussy about bed sheets and this B&B offered clean and crisp bed sheets,coffee/tea facility,a flat screen TV,DVD player with optional renting of a selection of films,hairdryer available. The bathroom is spotlessly clean and has a bath ,shower and clean towels. The breakfast (full english,kipper,cereal)was tasty and with a generous proportion. As it is also a Public house you have to accept that there will be an element of noise until closing time. The Public house has an eating area where you can purchased a meal etc. Overall we found this B&B in a village location to be of good quality if you want to visit the surrounding areas e.g Longleat House and Safai Park which is only about a 10 minutes journey by car from the B&B

Food is renowned and is available in the restaurant, bar or garden. Like many who regularly eat and drink at the Bull I always return knowing that I will never be disappointed.
