Scottish by all means, and it never fails to entertain. Wallace is fun. The energy in this bar is fantastic! It is always full of groups of people who are very happy to be here and enjoy being rowdy and loud. People come to Wallace to have a good, loud time. So if you walk in expecting to get a table and a drink, you will be disappointed. Especially on a football or rugby night, there will be no free seats, there will be no free tables, and you'll have to fight your way in to get the bartender's attention. If you're not in the mood for 'rowdy' and ridiculous, this isn't the place for you. But if you are, it's an awesome time! read more

Went here with a group of friends who I'm studying abroad with last night. We're all from California, and places like this are fun. It's an Irish pub in Lyon, so you get a lo of interesting people, some speak English some speak French, a lot speak both. We went to celebrate my friends birthday and it was the perfect combination of cozy and lively. There was a live band playing, lots of noise, but we sat in the upstairs area where there's lots of couches and armchairs. I've had a cold lately, so I didn't want to drink a beer, but I got a Hot Totty (whisky, tea, lemon, honey, and cloves). It's not on the menu, but it's something I used to get in Berkeley, CA when I had a cold. I'm not a huge fan of whisky, so it didn't go down easy and I wish he had used more honey, and it was expensive (7euros) but that's with everything in France, for the most part. Overall, good experience, love the combination of big couches, good beer, and live music, and luckily this place is a five minute walk from my house... which makes it easy considering the metro closes at midnight in Lyon so I get to stay out later than normal :) read more

Great Irish pub on my street in Lyon. Sunday nights are fantastic here--it's trivia or "Quiz Night", and there's a smorgasbord of questions that deal with general knowledge of culture, both Anglo-Saxon and French. It's run in both English and French, so anglophones are definitely welcome! Great place to go with a group of friends and engage in some friendly competition with other pub-goers. My group even won a round of free crafted shooters from a mini game in trivia once. As for the food--solid staples like shepherd's pie and fish and chips, and a good selection of whiskey. read more

This is a great Irish pub with a wonderful smorgasbord of beer and people alike. They have an impressive whiskey selection as well. It is very cool (misters and ac!!) and spacious with many large tvs playing various sportsball games. The wifi is free. The prices are reduced before 20:00. I wish I could've tried the food, but the kitchen is closed from 14:00-19:00. read more

We visited this place the first night in town after a long train ride from Nice. I ordered the Wallaceburger (beef). It came raw. Almost completely raw with the edges of the burger browned. Nice place! Liked the atmosphere, inside and out. The assortment of beers is good, nice cocktails and you can pick from looooots of different sorts of whiskey, which all are described very detailed. I had a Wallace burger with chicken, it was good, but the grease was dripping off the chicken, which disgusts me. read more
