    Rooftop at the Vogel

Fantastic location next to what was the count Basie aka Hackensack theater etc. The Vogel has a rooftop with a small bar for the show pregame, comfortable seating on the rooftop with views of the Navesink. The actual venue is wide open, general admission with very little seating on the main floor. There is a 2nd floor balcony with additional seating and tables but for some reason they did not open it. The main floor has a full bar with reasonably priced libations. The wife and I saw Night Train there and the sound is fantastic, almost too good. On this night this Guns N Roses cover band blew the doors off. I would not hesitate to return....only wish the 2nd floor seating was open....

A little less than half of the stage, up close.

Such a great intimate venue to get to watch The Phoenix Theater Production's performance of Peter and the Starcatcher! The lighting and stage setting was incredible. We watched magic came to life as the intimacy of this venue made you almost feel a part of it. The folding chairs were extremely comfortable with 3x the cushion of most. Not a bad seat in the house. The second tier had tables with 2-4 chairs set up. The bar had a huge selection of wine and bear, regular concession snacks. This production was hysterically funny. The complexity of what the actors had to do just flowed effortlessly. Props to the props! ‍I didn't want it to end. Nonstop laughter! One of my favorite productions, unexpectedly! Kudos to the sound effects guy perfectly on point! It was hard to leave a review for just the venue without mentioning the show

The Vogel is a newer small venue that is owned by the Count Basie Theater. Excellent acoustics and lighting are great for smaller, intimate acts. The place is set up with long tables and comfortable chairs facing the stage on the first floor. The second floor houses individual tables of 2/4 surrounding the perimeter of the building. There's a bar on each floor. The menu is limited. At this time a CDC card must be shown to gain admittance. Masks are optional.

At first walking into this space I wasn't sure. Pretty wide open seating. A large curtain screen was down in front mid the stage advertising upcoming events. In the main area are long tables for assigned seating. In the back of the room are some high tables and rail seatings. Upstairs in the "balcony" are high tables along the este of the perimeter and then in the back of that area are tables which from those tables you can hear and watch from projected screens. Sort of reminded me of say The Bottom Line but higher ceilings. Sound was very good, even from the balcony seating (went to check it out) very enjoyable space. Nicely thought out. Long tables weren't on top of each other. Local drafts would be a good addition

I love the vibe of The Vogel. It'an intimate setting and depending on the seating layout, it has a supper club feel at times. Nice venue.
