The person said there were no appointments available that day but when I explained the situation she said to bring the glasses in they would figure out a way to fix them. I went in and sure enough they fixed the glasses (that I was sure were unfixable ). Not only that but they recommended a store to go to to pick up some things. The folks there were friendly and unbelievably helpful. Now the hassles part of the story I needed glasses in the next day because we were heading out to our next destination that was in Texas in the middle of nowhere. I called the "one hour" glasses place and they couldn't use my current lenses to make new glasses (state law) and I needed to get a prescription. I called my existing Opthamologist (his practice was recently bought out by a mega ophthalmologist company) and after multiple hassles and false starts they sent the prescription. I then called the "one hour" place and they said they couldn't use the prescription since it was over a year old (state law - who knew Mississippi the home of small government had so many laws). That is when I called Belk and they made everything good.

This is my new eye folks They are in my neighborhood and I've heard very good things about them…read more My honey and I went together for our initial appointments and I am totally blown away by these guys. Big beautiful waiting room that is very tastefully done with some very cool artwork done in-house. I have been back for a follow-up appointment, actually a test that I didn't complete on my visite these folks always have a smile and go out of their way to assist customers. It's very refreshing to see a bunch of friendly, efficient and professional folks in a great atmosphere, seriously. Back in Massachusetts, I had a close friend and fishing buddy who is an optometrist and he took really great care of me. However, when I moved to TN I switched to Pearle Vision and they did a pretty good job but I didn't know what I was missing. These folks at Alabama Coast Eye Clinic are totally up on their technology and wicked thorough. I filed out some thorough medical history, went through four (4) different machine tests, had two laser type exams, glucose and other tests and that was all before I saw the OD, seriously thorough. Let me tell you about my eye doc, Dr. David R. Felber is a 2001 graduate of Southern College of Optometry, in Memphis, TN. he's been in private practice since then and joined Alabama Coast Eye Clinic in June of 2015. His externships included performing eye exams for the U.S. Navy and working for one of the premier contact lens specialty clinics in the United States. he's got some Navy stuff on the walls and we talked about some of his Navy experiences, you know I like that :-) He's a super nice guy and I can tell you from experience this guy really knows his stuff and most importantly he really cares, BIG deal for me. He did the normal type exam in the chair and after some conversation he gave me a choice of just using some cheap readers or if I insisted I could get bifocal glasses. The Pearle people always sold me glasses, just sayin'. I have 3 pairs of readers form Pearle LOL and decided that I was good :-) he was concerned about a widening in some blood vessels in my eye so he asked me to contact my previous eye people and find out what my numbers were. (there's a specific technical designation of a vascular measurement) I contacted my friend in MA and gave the numbers to him on my follow up visit. His response was that the worst-case scenario is maybe eye drops in the future but no glaucoma for this guy, this is good. Bottom line: These from both front and back of the house are super friendly, professional and from your first phone call to your completed procedures they are a joy to work with. I have found my last eye place! Highly recommended!!
