Improved staff education, improve food to tolerable quality now food is horrible and individual health requirements are not available. Staff are overwhelmed with the amount of work they are expected to do. The most competent staff by far is the PT and OT staff working in the building. They care for their patients beyond what the basics require. If not for them doing their best this would be a total failure of a business. read more

This facility has made a lot of improvements, and I am here to say that my experience does not align with the other reviews. This place is great, caring, clean, and professional. Staff do their best to build good relationships with every resident in their care, and it shows through their work. Would highly recommend this facility and it is only getting better with the current management in place. read more

This place you have packages stolen, food is hot God awful, call lights ignored, a lot of the staff is rude and ignorant. I was there for 2 months trying to get better, but I didn't want to leave my room because I was afraid of More of my stuff getting stolen. Good luck on talking to managers. Don't even think about putting a loved one here. Some workers ok most bad and unpleasant. Spent night's listening to patients being ignored and treated with disrespect. They're super loud here without concern for patients. Yelling and slamming doors. I felt like I was at a high school. These people need to be trained on professional behavior. read more

If you have any other option for care of yourself or a loved one besides this place, take it. This place is filthy and dangerous. Incompetent care to point of neglect. My Dad has been given meals that are dangerous for him and against doctors' orders every single day. Part of the reason he's here is to learn how to eat safely. He's been here for over a week and has had very little therapy at all. We've talked to multiple people at multiple levels; nurses, managers, directors, and administrators at Villas of Richfield to try to get him food he is able to eat. When he finally does get food that he's able to eat it's usually cold and served Styrofoam. He's also been served "meals" that are 1 scoop of food and that's it. (See "dinner" pictured.) They only shower patients here once a week. He requested a shower and was ignored. When he buzzes for help, it takes forever for someone to come. My Dad has multiple family members visiting daily trying to ensure he has proper care, I can't even imagine how patients without advocates are treated. It's disgusting. read more

This facility is a terrible facility to put your loved one in. My boyfriend of 4 yrs+, was moved there w/o our knowledge; since he has been there he has gone down hill; they will not allow him, regular showers, and they let him sit in him own urine and other bodily fluids. If I I am there (which is typically 2-3x a DAY, for the past 24 days), I have to hit the nurse call button...it generally takes them 30-45 minutes to help him to relieve himself, most of the time I have to take on this responsibility and now they told me I have to schedule his appts. and get him there (not the agreement we made last wk) they claim that they do not have enough staff to help him. Their staff changes wkly' Gee, that's shock!!! I spoke to several other "residents" all expressed the same concerns as I do. I am essentially doing their jobs; really I am going to go to extremes to get them to get their business together. Also, I have been threatened if WE want him removed from that facility; he will suffer great problems ( I do have witnesses and video as well as audio and photo's ( trust me, not my first rodeo). When he first arrived he was fine, 2 days in that place he was covered w/ bruise's, no one can tell me how he got them, some times they don't feed him and let him lye naked from the waist down. REALLY? It's got to be illegal for this. Now 2day, when I had to get him to his GI appt. the facility wa to arrange the appt. Apparently no one knew where he was going or when...although I was informed of the appt. last wk. Hmmm? Any advice? Thanks read more

I would give this place less than one if that was possible. I was sent here from Fairview Southdale after a fall that resulted in fractured vertebrae and torn muscles. I've been her 3 weeks. They have ran out of my pain meds twice. Once requiring me to go by ambulance back to the hospital. The staff is either FANTASTIC (nurses aids x3 and nurses x3) or Horrible. I was asked why I couldn't move something when I asked an aide to do it. I was berated for asking that the shower de cleaned and it took 3 days to get our toilet cleaned. The people in authority have mastered defending their employees and passing the buck. I just want to heal. Today I see the Doctor for the second time. Sure I will have more to post then. My grandmother is here and has been here for years. The staff are amazing! The most caring people I've known who always greet me and my grandmother warmly. RHC is a small facility and it desperately needs remodeling, however... their rehab facilities are truly miraculous. I've seen a lot of people wanting to give negative reviews after attempting to stay 1-2 nights and never fully accepting their loved ones diagnoses. However, the results of this facility are truly amazing!! I have seen life altering rehab progress in patients who have been bed ridden, refusing all cares. People I never thought would walk again, actually walk again and regain their independence. Patients go there confused, with gapping wounds, bed ridden, refusing cares, refusing to shower ever or perhaps whose families have given up on them. Richfield Health Center provides a family in their employees and the residents rely on these people for everything. A negative review isn't acceptable. The only detriment I have ever seen to this facility is being near the highway. Independent residents solicit at corners for money then spend the money they receive at the nearby liquor store. With resident rights and laws as they exist today, staff and nursing homes are powerless against this tradition which should not be considered a resident right to get drunk daily while in a nursing home or rehab facility!! This addictive behavior needs desperately to change. One drink daily perhaps, but sobriety should be a Minnesota Health Care standard especially when so many are discharged from the place for behaviors involving alcohol dependence issues. read more

If you're looking at this place, please reconsider sending your loved one to this facility. My mother was taken here after care in the ICU. She was there one night and texted my sister "get me out of here". She had been on a feeding tube and they fed her too fast causing her to get sick on herself. She cleaned herself up without the help of anyone. (She had a tongue dissection due to cancer and they had used skin from her left forearm to reconstruct her tongue - needless to say, she needed some real assistance.) She asked for help in going to the bathroom and they told her to go in her pants because they didn't have time to help her. They lost her pain medicine (again, vital, considering her surgeries). I have reported the facility to the State of Minnesota and encourage you to visit this place BEFORE you even consider sending someone here. We called 911 (at the advice of the Richfield Health Center Director) and they had two police officers come out to do a welfare check. One of the officers said, "yeah, your mom doesn't need to be in a place like this. She needs to be in a better place" We got her out of there that evening. The place was horrible. read more

You would be better off leaving your loved one in a Tijuanan whore house. My mother in law was transferred there from the hospital after spending days in the ICU at Abbott Northwestern. Her doctors at Abbott should have just transferred her to the curb on Chicago Ave, she would have had a better chance of finding a caring helpful soul at 28th and Chicago than this rat hotel. If worse came to worse, she would of ended up going into anabolic shock next to a stranger who doesn't give a shit...which is exactly what happened. When my wife called the health clinic (to follow up on why no one had responded to her mothers nurse call 34 minutes previous) their wonderful assuring nursing staff answered with "what do you want." After being transferred five times we finally got her "nurse" who promptly explained she had no idea who my wife's mom is or where she is located. read more
