What can I say? The view from our room, 109, will leave you speechless! The atmosphere at the Viewpoint is so relaxing and inviting! The rooms are spacious, clean and stocked with all the amenities you need. I enjoyed using their garment steamer so much, I bought the same one to use at home. When we went for a nighttime walk, we used the lanterns that were in the closet. The staff is so friendly and accommodating, fabulous customer service! They text you to see if there is anything that you need. The organic coffee they provide is amazing, everyone enjoyed it. My daughter loved swimming in the well heated outdoor pool with a view of the ocean. Our extended family of 5 all loved this trip and did not want to leave! We cannot wait to come back to The Viewpoint again very soon!!! Thank you for your amazing hospitality!

I had the good fortune to stay at this spectacular hotel. The Viewpoint is one of the loveliest boutique hotels I have stayed at. Upon check in you are greeted by folks that are truly happy you are there! You are offered a cold local craft beer or wine as well. This property looks out on not just the beautiful Atlantic Ocean but also the most photographed light house in America...the Nubble Light. I was escorted to my suite with an ice cold beer in hand. These suites are are beyond outstanding. You walk into a gorgeously appointed space with a kitchen, living room, fireplace and outrageous view. The room I stayed in, #102, had a king bed on the second level, a loft bedroom with a view of the Nubble lighthouse and the ocean. The decor is comfortable and smart. The fireplace adds great warmth to the fabulous view. The bed was gigantic and super comfortable. The bathrooms (2) were large and updated with new everything. I even had a washer and dryer!!! Out of a score of 1-10, I give the Viewpoint a 20. Granted it is winter in Maine, but during "season" there is a heated salt water pool, morning yoga and a shuttle service to their beach club and excellent restaurant on Long Sands beach Stones Throw. What can I say...I had a 5 star experience. This is also a Green hotel. The owners are very into saving the earth by recycling and looking after Mother Nature.

World-class ocean view highlighted by the iconic Nubble Light. Our suite was very comfortable, uniquely furnished with perfection in every detail. The Staff was spectacular and always eager to help. I highly recommend The ViewPoint Hotel whenever you are headed to the Maine Coast. We cannot wait to return!!

Where to start: Joe and his crew are amazing! The most wonderful and helpful hosts ever. And the hotel is named very appropriately. Wonderful ocean views all around. The beds are comfortable, the pool is awesome and the atmosphere rocking! Also: they have a shuttle which will take you to town and the beach for free. We were there for my bachelorette party in the "large family suite" and it fit 9 of us no problem! Highly suggest!

I brought my mother here for her 80th birthday getaway weekend as I wanted her to have a memorable getaway weekend. When I checked in I was greeted with a warm welcome and I was escorted to our suite 104. When I walked in the suite it was bright, beautifully decorated and the views were as if I had just walked in a paronamic ocean view picture (this view is even more beautiful then the ones I saw in Hawaii). The website pictures of this hotel and views are beautiful but being here in person the views are even more spectacular. The beds and pillows were extremely comfortable. They had a full equipped kitchen and even had the same coffee maker (Keurig), I use at home. Every morning I had my cup of coffee on the balcony enjoying the breathtaking scenery. At night we sat in the living room enjoying the fireplace warmth as well as the view from the window as we can see the red light flashing from the lighthouse. This Hotel is AMAZING and I loved it so much that I will be back in a couple of weeks to bring my husband for his birthday getaway (can't wait to see the look in his face when he sees this gorgeous place). We highly recommend this Hotel!

My friend loves the supper rolls, so we started there and I got a cup of clam chowder. The portions were big and the chowder was a great flavor and consistency - not too thick or too runny. The drinks we ordered were also really good. I made the mistake of getting a regular espresso martini and my friend got the special one with the horchata. I tasted hers and immediately hated myself because it was so good! I had a really well made rye manhattan afterwards - that guy can mix a great drink! And, the cocktail glasses were so classy! 1 star was removed because I ordered the mussels as my entrée and they came out when I was barely halfway into my soup. That is a big pet peeve of mine as I like to finish my appetizer, sit for a few minutes, and then go to the main course. I don't love it when the main is sitting there getting cold as I'm trying to finish my first course. For that reason, I sent them back. They looked great, so I would really like to go back at some point and try them. The restaurant was really good overall, so I definitely want to come back.

With two weddings in house, there were a lot of demands from guests. Still, reception kept a smile and was always pleasant. There are board games near reception in the lobby that you can borrow as a hotel guest. The lobby includes a comfortable seating area, ATM, merch, entrance to their restaurant and bar, and restrooms are down the hall. An elevator leads up to the floors above where guest rooms are located. They also have guest rooms in two nearby buildings. One of those buildings includes balconies overlooking the ocean. Our room, in the main building had an ocean view if you put a chair next to the window and looked out. The bar and restaurant offers a variety of menu items including salad entrees, beers on tap, full bar, coffee and dessert. We ate there a couple of times during our stay. Staff were well trained and the food is fresh and tasty. The parking lot behind the main building is dirt without 'lines' to get as many cars as possible in so some days there were more spaces than others and we often saw guests circling, waiting for a spot. There are handicap spots there with a dirt/gravel walkway street side, then toward the back entrance where you will find an elevator down the hall to the lobby. Otherwise, there is a short staircase from parking to the back entrance. 'Drop off' at the lobby door is literally 'in the street'. No parking there, just drop off, then circle round to park. Parking is also available in front and back of building #2, a small dirt lot is next to the hotel lawn and a few designated hotel parking spots are street side. Just be sure you are in a hotel spot so you don't get ticketed by the town. Our room was clean, but had an odd smell. I went into town and purchased some essential oil spray and a candle which I used throughout our stay. The original building on this site burned down, so I can't blame the smell on an old building, but it's not exactly new either, and it is by the sea so it may be damp. The room included a small table and two chairs, a coffee/tea area with mini-fridge, and plenty of single use toiletries. We did ask housekeeping for additional hand towels during our visit. The bed and linens were comfortable. Towels soft and absorbent. I shower in the evening and it did take a bit of time for hot water to arrive, but once there, it was plentiful. No complaints about water pressure. We kept the window open for a sea breeze so not sure how the AC performs. The wedding staff were very pleasant and the bride and groom seemed quite happy with their event. A wedding on the lawn overlooking the sea was set up the night before. The ballroom used for reception is lovely with restrooms on site, indoor and outdoor bar and plenty of staff on hand for the open bar and passed hors d'oeuvres. The patio outside was partially shaded. Inside has AC. The plated meals were very good. Other event spaces are available in this building plus guest suites. There is a lawn directly across the street from the lobby with lounge chairs for guests to use. The public beach is down a slight slop from the lawn and is quite large with soft sand and some rocky areas that are good for small kids to search for sea creatures. The town of York is right outside the door with lots of gift shops and restaurants. We enjoyed exploring the town as well as nearby sights.

Bed was comfy. Loved the accent lighting above the bed. Super cute inside and out. It was a great repurpose of an old outdoor motel from back in the day. She made our wedding day so seamless, we cannot say enough about how helpful she really was. The venue is classic, yet modern, and so much fun. Our ceremony was on the lawn next to the Union Bluff restaurant and hotel, which overlooks a bustling beach and a light ocean breeze. After the ceremony, our photographer took us across the street to take pictures on the benches, sidewalks, in the arcade, and bowling alley, which was really fun and the pictures came out really nice. When we met Darlene, the Union Bluff (UB) event Coordinator in 2019, she was wonderful and so was the venue and her suggestions for nearby vendors...however, when COVID struck our dealings with Darlene and the UB quickly became nothing but stressful! We had put down over $5,000 worth of deposits towards our wedding and reception with the UB at this point and our potential guest count limit of 200 was being cut to 50 guests due to COVID Precautions by the State of Maine. We understood these precautions of course, however, what we did not feel was reasonable was that the UB refused to refund any portion of our deposit given the extreme circumstances which were COVID despite the fact that every other couple we spoke with getting married at other venues were able to get their deposit back even though other venues "contracts" say "non-refundable" also...Other venues were being understanding that COVID was not just any typical reason a wedding could have been canceled or changed and for that matter the UB's "contract" says we were allowed to invite 200 guests and now they could not uphold their end of the "contract" either... As 2020 couples we were given 3 options: 1) move your whole wedding to 2021 but also pay 2021 prices, 2) keep your date with COVID restrictions and reduce your price only to the food/beverage minimum per the original contract 3) "keep and move" option keep your current date and if COVID improves have your wedding as planned but book another date later in 2020 or in 2021 (paying 2021 prices) ...all of which offered NO money returned at all that was previously deposited. These were the options no matter how close you were to your wedding date also when the State regulations for COVID were changing almost weekly when COVID was at its worst in April/ May of 2020. My husband and I opted to have our ceremony at the UB since that was our dream and we could not get our money back and have many elderly family members that may not make it to see us get married in 2021 and move our reception to a New Hampshire Venue with more flexibility. All of our interactions with the UB and Darlene after COVID began were stressful and frankly, difficult because they were unreasonable about using money we already paid them towards our wedding, towards our Lawn ceremony needs. I wouldn't wish this on anyone! If you get married here ask them to CHANGE THE CONTRACT! Don't sign for a non-refundable deposit! Good luck!
