I guess he recognized the seriousness of the case, and offered to do it the next day on a Sunday before he left for vacation the next day. He clearly knew his business as he took one look at Etta the next morning 8am and knew what needed to be done. Nikola was very informative and he explained everything in detail. He also showed compassion and confidence with his care. Etta just today had her one moth x ray exams. Dr. Nick took time from his surgeries to visit with us and share the good news about her x rays, and her successful recovery. He's more aggressive, and he surprisingly says she can take stairs and begin doing normal activities. The visiting doctor Rampersad was more cautious about activity, so we will ease into it. She was very sweet and compassionate, and got down on her knees to administer a flu shoot, and check her vitals. She was also very pleased with Etta's recovery! The vet med student Jenna was amazing both times! She spent a lot of time with us, and answered a lot of questions. She's gonna be a great vet! All the staff was friendly and efficient, and patiently answered billing questions. The price, while 2 acl surgeries would break most banks, is better than most if not comparable. The price beats Medvet in Chicago any day! While we still like our vet in Chicago we've used for 28 years, but we would come back here for more serious matters in a heartbeat, even though it's a drive to the burbs. It's a large, busy clinic with up to 5 doctors any given day. The big lobby can get full and loud. But the receptionists effectively get people and their pets in and out. Dr. Nick is awesome, and highly recommended for orthopedic surgery!

My concern is with the policy itself. While I understand that you choose to offer weekend appointments, I don't believe pet owners should have to pay a significantly higher exam fee simply because their pet needs care on a Saturday or Sunday. Offering weekend hours is a business decision, and I don't feel it's fair to pass that added cost on to clients who often have no choice but to seek care when their pets are sick. Comparing your fees to an emergency hospital doesn't change how I feel. Many pet owners aren't choosing between a weekday visit and an emergency hospital--they're simply trying to get their pet the care it needs as soon as possible. When your pet is ill, waiting isn't always an option. I respect that every business sets its own pricing, but I also believe pet owners have the right to express when those prices feel excessive. I hope you'll reconsider this policy, as I believe it places an unnecessary financial burden on families who are already worried about their pets. Thank you for your response. You still received his services, and I am very sure that the little dog turned out fine. I have known Dr. Manyam for the past 15yrs. Every single pet I have had has received services from Dr. Manyam. He keeps his office very clean and neat. I am honored to have him as my vet. Dr. Manyam is very straight to the point on his diagnosis, he is understanding, and compassionate. Dr. Manyam loves his job as well as his clients. His heart is tremendous, he can't always guarantee miracles, but he puts his heart into his profession. I am a huge animal lover of dogs, and very picky on vets. I am very grateful and appreciative of meeting Dr. Manyam, and have gotten to know him over the years as a real person that cares. It is sad that you put down someone in such a low and humiliating way, especially to make fun of his ethnic background is horrible. I have recommended several people to Dr. Manyam, and they still keep seeing him because they like his services. I recommend him to anyone who reads this. God bless you Dr. Manyam :0)

It's…read morebeen a persistent problem leading us to seek a vet specializing in feline medicine for her care. For years we've gone to chain vets but the problem with those places is your furry friend is treated as a number, not a name. Also, the environment in a normal vet freaks our cat out too much. Prior to being seen, our cat was boarded for some hours and caged in with other animals (dogs and cats) where they would loudly bark and meow in anxiety waiting for the doctor. When your pet is in an unfamiliar environment where other furry folk are freaking out, you're guaranteed the fear within the room is contagious. Our last visit to the vet left her peeing in her carrier, due to overstimulation, on her ride home. This year we took a different approach. We took our time finding a vet and combed through the entire Chicagoland area on Yelp to find cat only vets. Although The Cat Practice is nowhere near us, we held faith in the reviews and made an appointment with Dr. Coughlin before end of the year. Dr is booked months out which to us is a good sign. At arrival, we filled out her paperwork and the receptionist informed us of the intake process. We didn't realize they needed her records from her prior vet(s) but the front desk only needed the names and locations from where she was last seen. Within minutes they were already transferring over the requested information. She was taken in alone to be seen and tested. Once her eval was complete, we were invited in the exam room to speak with doctor on her findings. Dr. Lori Coughlin was thorough with us and addressed any concerns along the way. She was able to clear out some mild earwax buildup which she showed us post swab. She determined the cause of her itching was a combination of a yeast infection in her ears plus possible allergies. We were taken home with topical and oral medications from their onsite pharmacy. A request for OTC (over the counter) Claritin led us to pick some up at our nearby Walgreens the following day. We're crossing our fingers hoping this regimen makes Cleo itch free! Cleo tolerated the entire 90 minute process. Although a little miffed from the typical poke and prod she managed. A little drooling in the mouth but no pee in the carrier pad. Once at home she jumped right out of her carrier to return to her normal way of life. Her full body assessment states she is healthy and mildly overweight (@ 10.5 lbs) which is all we ask for. After our first successful visit we plan to stick with Dr. Coughlin and the kind staff at the Cat Practice for future follow ups.
