Simply know by locals in Sedalia as "The Barn" Heritage Ranch is indeed a barn, a barn constructed to look older than it is with a mix of recycled and new materials. In addition there are two. . .huts? One for the groom's wedding party and one for the brides. . .be warned. . .these are the only two areas with air conditioning and if you are going to have a wedding in anything other than winter that barn gets toasty. . .not toasty enough for me to dock a star but tosty enough for me to say that the family that ownes it might need to look into better cooling options than the random massive fans that were everywhere. . .pordable AC units are a thing. . . LADIES! The parking for the venu is a rock field, as in the roadway is made of loose rocks, bring flats or boots and switch to heels when you get to the barn. No really Don't try to do the lot in heels. Behind the barn sits a small play area for children that we found quite functional. Remember to READ what you are signing up for though because there is a lot of clean ups you will be responsible for, you turn everything back over the way you got it. Loved it, loved Sedalia A very good venue option for sure.

They were extremely strict on what/how much you could have. Not a terribly lot of food and once the last table was called to eat, the staff immediately closed the doors to the food area. There seemed to be an abundance of food left but shut er down. Wonder what they did with all the left overs Anyway. I personally had just enough as I prefer to drink my calories but most at my table were still hungry.

Ruined Our Wedding!!…read more My wife and I got married on September 28, 2024, and we wish we had taken our money elsewhere. Russ will sweet talk you into choosing this place. Yes, it's nice and can be breathtaking, but the problem lies within the customer service on the day of the wedding. We had family and friends come from out of town to attend our wedding, some of whom had never been to Kansas City before, which made us feel very special. The night before the wedding, Russ called and informed my wife that we were over our guest list limit and needed to make an additional list of the people we really wanted to attend. My wife was up all night crying out of frustration because this was very last minute, and some people were going to be upset. The wedding day was a horrible experience! First, Russ's assistant (whose name I can't remember) was the worst! She's black. I believe she's racist against her own kind. She stirred up trouble the whole time, accusing the wedding party of smoking weed on the property. Keep in mind, weed is 100% legal, and if someone smoked it before arriving, it's their business. Second, there were no lights in the groomsmen's section due to a storm prior. When we asked if we could get a light to shave or whatever, Russ's assistant was very rude and even got mouthy with my groomsman, who showed her nothing but respect by saying "Ma'am" and "Please." Even after she was done chewing out my groomsmen over the light, she walked away, then turned back to finish chewing us out, informing us that certain things "were not her job." Her attitude eventually rubbed off on Russ, and he started talking to me like I was just a thug off the street, despite the fact that I had paid over $10k for this venue. Third, they started trying to do crowd control with our guest list by refusing to let our family and friends in. Some had traveled from out of state and could not get in because Russ's assistant didn't use the list we stayed up all night creating. Instead, she passed the list to our daughter (who doesn't work for the company and wasn't present) to retype, which resulted in a number of people being removed. They let all the older people in (50+) and told anyone who looked young that they weren't on the list, even though they were. Then there were the pictures. It took about 45 minutes to get the lights working outside for our pictures. Because they didn't let our younger family members in, a lot of older people had left before the reception even began, leaving us with a semi-empty room. My only wedding! My lifetime memory ruined by poor customer service and micromanagement. DO NOT USE THEM!! PLEASE GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!!

(and then some!)…read more Bridal Cave is absolutely breathtaking and truly lives up to its name as one of the most amazing caves we've ever visited. One of the highlights was seeing the Guardian Angel stalagmite--it was awe-inspiring and felt incredibly special. Our tour guide, Tripsy, was phenomenal. Her knowledge, passion, and storytelling brought the cave to life in a way that made the experience unforgettable. The magical moment when she used her black light to create the fairy dust illusion on the cave walls was pure enchantment--it felt like stepping into a hidden, magical world. It was also wonderfully romantic to see all the wedding photos from the couples who have been married inside the cave. Knowing so many love stories began in such a sacred, beautiful place made the experience even more meaningful and special. And the Mystery Lake... wow. The water was absolutely pristine, glowing with stunning shades of teal, green, and blue--so clear and beautiful it almost didn't seem real. We give Tripsy 50 stars for making this tour so exceptional. Bridal Cave is a must-see, romantic, and magical experience we will never forget. Thanks Anina and James

This isn't my first cave visit - in fact have quite a few, but this may of been the best. The coffee is still great, but there isn't enough food apparently by 9 a.m. to go around. I had arrived and ordered their spinach and bacon quiche, which I've known as the "Keto" quiche but the barista has informed me that it's no longer called that. He claimed something about fad diets, and rather sounded snooty about it. Whatever. I asked about the bakery items available, since there were only three, and asked him whether there were any more available and he sarcastically said that he wasn't hiding any baked items. Excuse me, but sometimes coffee shops will have baked items that they haven't come around to displaying yet. I decided to order the scone, which he told me was a lemon scone, even though I told him that the white icing had speckles on it, similar to vanilla bean. He affirmed in a snotty way, "It's lemon." After I received the scone and took a bite, I knew that I was right. I asked for a refund in which he insisted that what I had was a lemon. I told him how it didn't taste like lemon but vanilla bean. He insisted again. Yes, we were doing this. He lamented that his bakery person told him that it was lemon. Hey, if your bakery person tells you lemon, it's not on me. He gave me the refund. The latte I received was supposed to be a pistachio latte, not a pistachio latte taste at all. I wasn't sure what it was.
