Pool tables get jammed occasionally, jaegerbombs made incorrectly, and awkwardly tight. This place is kinda cool, greatly priced beer.

This place is obnoxious. I am in Columbus, GA for a week for the Southeast Trombone Symposium, a conference where us college kids get to learn from some of the best trombonists in the world, and our experience has been ruined by this inconsiderate bar making it physically impossible to sleep. It is 1:15 on a Friday morning, and they are still blasting music. They did this last night too. I have noise canceling headphones on and I can still hear it. It is impossible to learn from the people we each paid almost $1000 to go learn from if we are falling asleep in the masterclasses and presentations because we couldn't sleep the night before. I was kicked out because, and I quote one of the security personnel,"You look like you've had too much." I was sitting minding my own business, not bothering a soul. Yet I was kicked out for no reason other than enjoying drinks. Ambience was great. read more

An ok bar... drinks are average priced. A good place to go with a large group as there is lots of room in their courtyard which doubles as their dance floor. read more

This establishment clearly cares for some and not all as my experience from last night was shown. My boyfriend and I, we're not ones to go out but he always had a great time at the tap in the past. Well ever since i've turned 21, his experience has become a little more like mine. negative every time i attend. An old boss of mine, came in and told them i was under 21, even after looking at my ID upon entrance and having no issues for about an hour. The owner was apparently not having it and wouldn't talk to either of us and proceeded to kick us out on the grounds that my ID was still "vertical", not expired or anything, just that, vertical. you can look at the date and clearly see i am old enough but they took what that person said in ran with it. No care for my safety or well being. They honestly got aggressive with us as soon as my boyfriend asked to speak to the manager so he could see the date on my ID with his own eyes, he never did. We will forever be taking our business elsewhere. This bar is the absolute worst. read more

It's just a bar. Nothing terribly special about the place. Good outdoor space, though it's a little weird getting in...and somewhat awkward. With places like this, Columbus would benefit from an open-container law similar to Savannah, GA. Lots of untapped potential in the downtown area of Columbus. read more

Was here for the second time last night. A few reasons why I love this place. For one, they have a huge space outside where they can crank up the music and people have plenty of space to dance The bartenders are attentive and there are several places that are more quiet and allow you to talk with friends. read more

This is a nice bar to spend some time at while you're downtown. The staff is affable, the service is fast, the drinks are decently priced, the music is usually good and there's lots of open space & seating areas so you can dance or hang out without feeling too cramped. It isn't really anything to rave about, but it's consistent & there isn't much to dislike about The Uptown Tap. read more

Decent place, but the real money maker here is the outdoor space. The DJs aren't that good, but the music is loud, so what else do you really want in a club? Drinks here are pretty strong, which is another saving grace about this place. However, they do have a cover sometimes ($5), and the wait staff are not exactly the most friendly. Love the outside area with the stage for dancing! They have a pool table inside, dart board, a room with 3 couches, a smaller patio area outback. You are allowed to smoke inside, but it's not overbearing with smoke since it's so big and open. The bartenders are friendly and always get to me quickly even when it's busy. Definitely a college aged/military bar but I think anyone of any age can have fun here. read more

This is the worst spot in Columbus. Security is terrible. Prices are terrible. Music is trash. The good thing is you're downtown so there's plenty more places to go after this place ruins it for you.... unless this was your last stop and that means you'll leave with a bad taste for downtown Columbus. read more

The Tap is one of the best bars in the Columbus area. The place can get crowded, but has a laid-back ambiance. The bar staff serves quick and are friendly, drink prices are lower than other bars on Broadway, and they open the large patio during the Summer months. Overall, I suggest the Tap above all other bars on Broadway. read more

The Tap is a fun place to get a drink, nothing incredibly special EXCEPT for the outdoor space, which I love. The bartenders are pretty good. This is definitely more of a "college bar," but I think anyone could find a good time here. My only wish is that they would actually use that great outdoor space for something more than a sub par DJ - let's get some live music! read more

This is probably my favorite place downtown since Flip Flops closed down. First of all, there's no cover fee to get in = HUGE bonus. I hate going out and having to pay $10+ just to get in the door then buy drinks at extortionate prices. This place is pretty awesome because you can buy drinks outside and sit outside at the tables or get up and dance. Right inside there's a corner area that has three sofas surrounding a big coffee table. I really enjoyed going there with my wife and having a cuddle while we were drinking. Another plus, you can smoke inside here as well. There's also another, smaller outdoor area in the back that has tables and a sort of secluded feel that's nice (when it's not really crowded, that is). read more

-1 Stars. The DJ barely changes his playlist and you have to pay to get in no matter how dead it looks. If it's after 2 am you still have to pay and there's no re-entry. If you leave your card in there, tough according to the bouncer since you have to pay to get back in to close out your tab. read more

They play the same music every week. And when you request a song they don't play it. DJ "the dude" is not a dj just plays whatever is on the list. However drinks are ok $4 for a beer and $5 for a mixed drink. read more

Best time I've been having in Columbus. Cute girls working the bar, cool bouncers, decent drink prices, and a good dj (usually) make the weekends damn fun. On a good night the inside and outside area is packed, and there's a decent girl to guy ratio. (Being a military town there will never be a great girl to guy ratio) Seem to see more girls out on Saturdays, and apparently on the weekdays throughout the month they do special events like hot oil wrestling, wet tshirts contests, etc. Around the peak of the evening every weekend, girls will get on top of the inside bar (ala Coyote Ugly) and pour sugar liquor into adventerous drunkie's mouths who lean their heads back onto the bar. How can you not have fun participating or watching your friend's participate in that?!? The female staff also routinely have costume theme nights and make for some damn sexy firefighters, soldiers, jungle women, etc. Yeah there's a pool table and a dart board I think, but if you go to this bar to hide in the corner and play pool, your a retard. It's a good time and probably the best target rich environment for meeting someone. Avoid Mix and come here. read more
