While that is ideal it is not an absolute rule if the person who has signed is in your presence and has presented a valid ID and stated that it is heir signature. I know this to be true because I am also a North Carolina notary and have attached the statute. She didn't offer to make another copy of my document or assist in any other way. Beyond the clerk being difficult expect high prices and to be greeted with a phony smile. Just go to the UPS store if you have an urgent matter and don't have time for games.

That's when a male employee interjected harshly: "I had to put the Great Dane down--you should be careful with what you promise." I was stunned, both by the rudeness and the sad news. The female owner then clarified that the dog had MS and could no longer walk, which explained the decision. I truly apologize for unintentionally reopening that wound; I had no idea, given the time since my last visit. A lot can change in two years, and I understand the pain of losing a beloved pet. That said, the tone and delivery were unnecessarily aggressive and off-putting. I simply wanted my daughters to share in the positive, dog-friendly experience that first drew me here for my business shipments.
