I stopped into The UPS store on Bridgeport Ave Shelton to drop off a Verizon cellphone and two small Amazon items. I was greeted by a young man at the counter and I handed over my items and started pulling up QR Codes to scan. My cellphone wasn't connecting to the Amazon site quickly and I apologized profusely for making the young man stand there. After the last QR code was scanned, the kid told me with returns like Amazon, I need to be prepared because I hold up the line. There was no one there other than a woman that literally dropped something off and immediately left. There were three people working. This was 10am in a Wednesday. I explained to the young man that I was trying to pull up the QR Codes as quickly as possible and there was t a very good signal for whatever reason. The manager is rude , arrogant , of no help and apparently does not know the meaning of customer service. If my last experience was the deciding factor if I continued to use UPS I would most definitely consider FedEx or USPS. Before I went to the store I checked with the UPS 800 number and the local post office and they both said I could drop off my package there but the very rude store manager seems to think he can make his own rules. I am aware that this store is under new management but why they have this arrogant person working there is beyond me. If anything instead of bringing in new customers he is driving existing customers away. I gave this business only 1 star as it was required in order to post review otherwise I certainly wouldn't have even given them any stars. read more

They do the work and go over and beyond. Always smiling faces - I appreciate the face that the employees have remained the same during COVID. Not only that, it's all hands on deck! I experienced a wonderful service at this UPS facility today. I mailed two separate packages and interacted with two different employees. Both were very fast and very attentive. No waiting in line either, just a great job by the staff. I will be back at this location for all my mailing needs. read more

The entire UPS system is the most horrible system to try to get ANY kind of service from. The company that works for UPS in Shelton cannot even provide a number with a live person on it to pick up a wrong delivery. UPS when finally getting through the prompts that will hang up on you almost instantly, I got someone in another country. This frustration is after being told by a live person 3 days prior they would have someone pick up the wrong delivery ASAP. Seems they are only in it for the money and if you don't spend a ton with them you will never get service. No wonder I use Fedex. read more

i don't usually leave reviews but this one i couldn't just ignore. the blonde young guy at the front was an ass. my pre-printed mailing label wasn't able to be scanned. he just shrugged and left me hanging - didn't even bother to try to type in the tracking number or offer a solution. great customer service....... I went to another UPS store on Main Street and they took it in by typing in the tracking number with no problem. read more

I have always been happy with the service provided. I've been a box holder at Jim's UPS Store for something like 15 years. For those who complain about the shipping costs, it's set by UPS not the local franchise owner. As to packing. I've seen their work and want to say having them pack may not be cheap but the material costs can get expensive, it takes employees time to pack properly. If you have something expensive, precious or irreplaceable, you can appreciate their attention to detail. Plus when they pack they are in a better position to handle any damage claims should one arise. I've seen them pack a box and put that box into another one and pack around the inner box. Excessive? Not if you are sending grandma's family heirlooms to cousin Becky and want assurances it will be delivered in the same condition as it was sent. Do I ship through them? I absolutely love the Shelton UPS location on Bridgeport Ave. They are consistently friendly and courteous. They have excellent customer service. I have used them for notaries services as well as shipment services. I became a justice of the peace and they assisted me with the production of business cards for my JP services. I've never been dissatisfied with any of the services this UPS location has supplied to me. I have even made a quick stop there in order to get a greeting card as their selection of cards are awesome and can't even find as nice and fun at a greeting card specialty store. They are very close by to my residence so they couldn't be more convenient. read more

Very convenient to have a document notarized. The people working there were really friendly. It was $10 for the notary service.

I would recommend taking your business to FedEx or the post office. The people who work here are very unfriendly. I went here several times. One time I went to mail package and the guy was looking at me like I had three heads. I guess he did not understand what I was mailing or why I printed a label. Another time I went here to have something notarized. The guy told me it was $20 dollars per page (it is free at your bank). The prices are ridiculous and the people here are not nice. I have been in this UPS store a couple times - guys are always nice - but today they were heros, thank God for UPS overnight service for my daughter's medicine as she is trapped in West Palm Beach FL (college student) she would have run out by Sunday and who knows when she would have gotten any type of mail or delivery service. I only use the UPS store periodically for Amazon returns or drop offs. I was in yesterday afternoon for a couple Amazon returns. I witnessed some of the worst customer service I have ever seen. The employee spoke down and berated and elderly woman who didn't understand a Comcast return. I was being helped by a different employee and he was completely fine, I was told I had to pay for a bag cause Amazon didn't do the return in a consolidated shipment. I asked if I could put it in a UPS bag, the employee that wasn't helping answered rather rudely. I then stated I would take my item back and pack it myself and again the other employee answered before the employee who was helping me had a chance. I was told that I could not take my item back cause it was already scanned. I ended up paying the minimal fee which wasn't the point it was the attitude of this employee. Owner is quite experienced, staff are helpful, they're respectful of my time and handle things as efficiently as possible, they have a business to run, so I do understand if they're limited with certain extra help that most of time they do offer and very rarely don't, I've been using them for over 4 years now for any important shipping (docs or items that requires special handling or cannot afford loosing), for simple packages and mail I would still use USPS due to better prices though (UPS pricing policy vs USPS, has nothing to do with this particular UPS store) read more

Person at the counter very rude. Was charged 14 dollars for a small box. Never told of price prior to purchasing. 14$ was just the box not shipping. I am disabled and my service dog was not allowed inside store. These people should not be running a ups store as they drive customers away. Will never go there again! Truly a nightmare. read more

Ask for an estimate for packaging and shipping. I found them very expensive. Fed ex down the street was 80% cheaper to ship.
