I actively avoided this UPS Store after doing some Amazon returns here. Employees are unbelievably rude and not helpful. If there were any problems with my labels or QR codes, they declined to help in any way. This happened multiple times during different visits. Luckily I was able to get the account info and figure it out. They are pretty efficient with moving through the line, but the service is so rude other customers look around in confusion after seeing the interaction in front of them. Parking is a mess and very frustrating. Street parking for a shipping business is bad for anyone delivering packages via truck. read more

Impressed by efficiency of operation. One person handling packages. Customers are lined up to drop off UPS returns. She handled five returns for me in under a minute. Their was a thousand packaged inside store waiting for UPS truck to pick up. Remember with all this online shipping the returns are growing. Convenient location on Orient Way in Rutherford . Sent an envelope of documents via the UPS Store # 5785 located at Orient Way, Rutherford NJ. The envelope arrived at its destination soaking wet and in atrocious condition due to the package being left out unprotected in the weather. As a result, the documents contained within were totally damaged and rendered unusable. I filed a claim with Jay at UPS store # 5785 and provided all the documentation Jay requested to file a claim. I provided over a dozen photos of the damaged transit envelope and the damage to the documents that were shipped. Additionally, proof of the costs for the original documents were provided with credit card receipts. The UPS shipping charges were $111.90 and the costs of securing the documents approximately $60.00. Thereafter, Jay informed me I would be entitled to "about $60.00" as reimbursement. When I questioned Jay on how this amount was determined he stopped communicating with me and ignored my additional written correspondence and phone calls. I understand things can go wrong however the character of a company is revealed by how they deal with their errors, especially an error caused by UPSs gross negligence in handing the package. Needless to say, UPS and their agent Jay have failed miserably. Jay's refusal to respond to legitimate inquiries about damaged caused by UPSs gross negligence speaks volumes about UPS lack of character and professionalism. Caveat emptor! read more

This is my go to place when I need anything notarized. They will fax or email it out for you for an additional charge which is totally worth it. I am a NJ notary but you can not notarize your own stuff. Yes my bank will do the notarizing for free but the woman at my bank who does the notarizing is a total pain in the ass to deal with. My bank has a quirky bank policy regarding specific wording which needs to be on anything she notarizes and she wouldn't tell what wording to she needed to see. UPS was quick and painless. This female clerk Astor was angry at me and yelling at me in front of other customers for "ruining her day" and making her life miserable because she couldn't multitask properly and the troublesome Dyson return order I brought in didn't get faxed in properly. Just came from this location to return a package for a friend. When I told the man behind the counter I have a package to return to sender, he was very rude. Friend had made an honest mistake with the return label and he was very rude and condescending to me in front of the other customers that were there while describing what the problem was. Treated me with disrespect like I was stupid and that I didn't understand anything about how packages work. I recommend finding another place even if it means an extra 5-10 minute drive. Awful customer service at this location. Been in here on two occasions. The first time I was lectured on not having the proper tape to seal my box. As if I have my own shipping center supplies in the back of my house. When that package was shipped out, they sent it back to the original label as opposed to the new one that was put on so I received the box back three days later. When I came back in to send it again, I found out from another employee that this was also my fault. Just accept the package and do your job with good service and a smile on your face. read more

I used this ups location to ship out a very important document I got a call 3 weeks after From ups store saying my package got delivered back when I went back to the store the manager was very rude and Refused to help me or solve the problem my package was all dirty wrinkled and muddy The address was accurate but the incompetent ups worker failed to deliver my package and the manager wanted to charge me twice to send back the package. This is my can-do stop when I have important documents to send. The service here is the best, I've been coming here for over a year and have never been disappointed. There have been days I've come in and not known how to send it, what packaging to use, and they are a godsend. They'll let you know an estimate, show you the label before it goes out (for accuracy). Holy moly is this place crazy busy during the holiday season. People were just in and out the door every few seconds. I arrived with a bulky package weighting 27lbs and I sure as hell couldn't carry it by myself. So I asked the kind man behind the register for help and he did without any hesitation. Parking is difficult. After parking illegally and a bit far away and carrying 3 big packages the store was closed on Saturday 1/24/15 at 3:45pm when the sign at the door says it closes at 4pm. All that work and the trip specifically made for this, for nothing. I called today Tuesday to see if they are opened until the time they say which I think is 7 or 730pm but an answering machine picks up. This place my go to shipper because they know what they are doing! I have to ship frequently for my ebay business. When I had fragile things to ship, they were very helpful telling me about all the shipping options. When I was there, literally 5 people came in and asked them to tape boxes for them or asking for some shipping material for free. I don't know why people just don't tape it at home first. I guess the stores have to charge for taping and all the hundreds of requests like that they get, otherwise they will be too busy doing free work instead. First off I tried giving a package with a prepaid label to the UPS driver that comes to my building daily. They said they couldn't pick up the package unless I called UPS to schedule the pickup. Then I called UPS and they wanted $7 to have someone come pick it up. Seriously? Having to drop it off and wanting to get a receipt I decided to go to a UPS store instead of using a drop box. As the owner, Jay Kim, is about to receive my package he asks me what's in the package. I told him it was a scope. He freaks out and starts yelling & arguing with me that he doesn't have licenses to ship gun parts. I told him it was a separate item that isn't considered part of a firearm & doesn't require an FFL to transfer. I suggested he call a police officer to clarify the laws to him if it gave him peace of mind. He refused & told me to leave his store. I would think if you own a shipping company you should know what you can & can't ship... Maybe this place is fine for shipping some documents, but that's about it. Not even worth buying office supplies as they charge $1.99 for a BIC pen... I hope FedEx runs this company out of business. read more
