I purchased $100.00 worth of raw oysters (Two quarts) from Off Shore Pier, an outstanding local restaurant and fish market . I wanted them shipped overnight to my brother in Tennessee who is dying of cancer so that he could have oyster casserole for thanksgiving dinner. Imagine my surprise when UPS quoted me $311.00 to ship a five pound package that was 13 inches by 13 inches by 13 inches. Since this may be his last Thanksgiving I didn't have much choice than to pay their exorbitant price. Well, as it turned out, that UPS airplane that crashed in Kentucky diverted my oysters to another location and they were not delivered until the following day. At that point the ice packs had melted and the oysters were no longer cold. Rather than feed my brother bad oysters and add to his misery, his wife decided it was best to throw them out. So here I am out $411.00 dollars and UPS says that since it was an emergency I am not entitled to a refund. The UPS store franchise owner offered me a check for $284.48 which doesn't even cover the cost of the shipping, let alone the $100.00 in wasted oysters. I am extremely dissatisfied with the treatment I have received from UPS. As it turns out, I could have shipped the same package via Fed Ex for only $233.00 and without an additional $50.00 fuel surcharge. Staff was rude, I had a 100, bill was 30, they had been open for 3 hours, she said I can't take that, there is a bank across the street. Not I'm sorry I don't have change for that, but teenage sparky I can't take that, I will just use my card. With my card, I tend to have to shove it in and hold it for it to read, she grabs the device , with my card and says you don't need to be so aggressive, it didn't work for her either. read more

Extremely rude staff....one smells like she was smoking weed in the back 2 min before I walked in. Two weeks before Xmas, and they close at 2PM on a Saturday! Except the door is not locked. So they just kicked 6 people out of the store.

I usually go in this UPS store for shipping and dropping off, but today was different with bad customer service, which is absolutely horrible, no care for customers as others also reported. They have no interest in being helpful or empathic. New staff here has zero customer service, not sure how they hired someone like that with attitude. I had three packages to drop off, and she wanted me to pack in one, that's fine, since there's only one label for all, but what she was telling me to take all three packages to home, pack it and bring it back, which I'm not so interested to do that with those heavy packages, so I told her, I will buy box from HomeDepot, which is 2 minutes drive from there till then leaving them here, but she didn't want me to leave my packages there, she just wanted me to take all with me and bring it back, which is hectic and intention of hard time, so I went to the home depot anyways and got back with two packaging box, and I asked for duck tape to wrap, she didn't want me to give duck tape, instead made me to buy cheap duck-tape for $4.99 from them, that's not even sticking on it, fine, bought it and packed it, which was not properly wrapping up. as per the instructions on return label, they should do the wrapping but she doesn't want it to, cuz she's slacker with attitude, even USPS and fedex provides the duck tape for free. Staff like this makes the store look bad and rethink to go back for any business with them. Not going back there again, horrible customer service and too much attitude, if there's 0 star to give, I would have given 0 not even 1 star. read more

This store is absolutely horrible. They have no interest in being helpful or empathic. There hours are inconsistent and phone is always busy like they leave it off the hook. They have lost a couple of my packages. It's a shame Amazon partner's with them over Fedex. I look forward to the day these stores are a thing of the past and not needed. The woman at this location is nasty. I requested 8 emails be printed that had 3 images. The woman didn't know who to print the images so she printed the first page of each email and charged me per email. I refused to pay this because all the images were not printed. She got upset raised her voice so I left. Horrible customer service. read more

The associates that work there are great, very helpful, and friendly. However, the owner that runs this business, as noted by reviews both here and google, is absolutely awful. She is enraged when customers come into the store, that she owns, and treats them accordingly. Why would you ship a package out of a place where the worker openly tells you that your package may not make it?! That plus trying to charge storage fees on packages that we're just dropped off that were not subject to a storage fee. I am sorry for the others that had a bad experience, but I had the opposite. I went there a few week ago to ask for directions to FedEx, and the young man and I kidded each other that it was weird asking about FedEx (I had a FedEx prepaid return by the seller). Today, I went there with a large and heavy return, needed a dolly, and had run out of packing tape. The young lady gladly taped it up and took the time to try to find the place I was sending it to on the computer because I left the address home. No go, so I came back and the same fellow from the last time finished the transaction with a smile. Older previous visits there were fine, too. Courtney does not do her damn job! I called for a package, was on hold for 25 minutes. Hung up, called back she asked for my address, and said they didn't have the package. I asked if I could give her the tracking number because it says the package should be there. She said it doesn't matter because they only get one shipment a day and the package is not there. Not oh we just received a shipment and I have not processed what's here yet so give me a call back...So here I am calling around, going to the Latham location looking for this package. I drive up there, hoping to encourage someone to really check. I explain to this Asian woman who works there whats going on and she starts to defend her coworker. I told her that regardless of what happened you guys need to explain your process to customers so they don't have to drive around looking for a package, and an apology or some sympathy would be nice. Did she say oh I'm so sorry for the inconvenience? Nope. She tried to call me a liar. I was done told her to say no more. Grabbed my package and left. Terrible service - from start to finish. Paid over $350 for a packaging and shipment. The "packaging" was so terrible that the box fell apart, only to reveal that they used barely any packing peanuts. Entire contents of the box were destroyed. Spent WEEKS following up with UPS Corporate only to be told that they were an individual vendor and I had to go through the store for shipping and packaging refund. Store owner (Lee) refused to return full amount for packing, even after Corporate admitted to fault and refunded my insurance money for the package. I finally guilted owner into paying for packaging, since if they had done even an adequate job, the contents would've arrived intact. Again, multiple delays getting check. When the check finally arrived, why would I be surprised that Lee did not refund the entire amount, as she had promised? Nope. The worst part is that when I followed up with Corporate, they said the entire refund had been issued from them to the store. Despite multiple follow-up calls to the owner, none have been returned. Better to use carrier pigeons or wagon wheel transport than this store. HORRIBLE service and DISHONEST people. read more
