The UPS Store in Harrisonburg has excellent customer service. I arrived shortly after 6pm (at the cut off time) with a handful of packages (our driver did not pick up) and a UPS driver was there for pick up and the UPS counter attendant did not hesitate to quickly take my packages and scan them to get them to the driver for shipping! She was polite and efficient, and it was evident customer service was her priority. Thank you, UPS Harrisonburg! Appreciate your professionalism! read more

I went and dropped off a package this week. I had a barcode to scan and incorrect called it a label. the woman who "helped" me was incredibly rude and had to correct me and let me know I wasn't using the correct verbiage. she has worked there for years and I dread going to this location because of her attitude. she was completely disinterested in providing any kind of customer service due to her poor attitude, although this isn't a surprise to me as this is common. if I could've have used fed ex to drop this package off, I would have but my company sent the shipping barcode and I didn't have a choice. read more

UPS has become a FULL-TIME Amazon return outlet. If you are a business person and trying to ship a package to a customer, be prepared to wait in line for 45 minutes to an hour. I know Amazon returns are a convenience and do not want them to take that away, but the owner/manager of the company does such a poor job of staffing this store. This is a direct result of greed on their part, they pay only $14 an hour so of course you are not going to attract semi-trained associates to come work for you when McDonald's pays better. They will do their absolute best to charge you for anything they can if you have an Amazon return. I had a saved chat from Amazon that said I did not need to put a shoebox in another box yet they insisted on two different visits that I did even after I showed them that saved chat. Then, they tried to charge me to use their tape to tape the shoebox. I called Amazon and they said I absolutely did not need to tape the box and they were sorry I had experienced this. They have many complaints from this location about them trying to make people buy things when they do an Amazon return. Save yourself some trouble and select a different location and stay away from the price gouging. read more

The man at the desk (maybe the owner) was so rude to the lady in front of me because his scanner wouldn't pick up the barcode on her phone. He told her to leave and that he wouldn't wait on her. He was yelling and making a fool of himself. By the time I got my phone out he had gone to the back. If you want courteous service don't go here. Verizon sent me a box and a pre-paid label to trade in an iPhone via UPS. I took it to the UPS Store (#527, Harrisonburg, VA) where I was informed it would cost $1 dollar to tape the box. I agreed, no problem. But when I presented my card I was told it had to be cash which I did not have. Then I was told I either had to purchase an entire roll of tape ($4) or come back with either $1 cash or the box already taped. I had no time for any of that so I had to buy a whole roll of tape I didn't need to return something Verizon already paid to ship. Is that the way this process is supposed to go? Because it felt like a cheap money grab. Particularly given I've spent hundreds of dollars in shipping costs through this store in recent years. Keep in mind, I had no problem paying the "tape fee" but if the policy is to be enforced it needs to allow for all the available payment mechanisms as any other purchase. Spend four times as much on a roll of tape or leave is a business practice that will have me seeking other shipping options from now on. read more

Fast service and helpful people. Because I have a business, they told me that I HAD to get a business mailbox which is $135 every quarter. I would have settled for a smaller box because I don't really get large box mail but I love that I have a key to get in to check my mail after hours. read more

I asked the Woman that worked the counter on Saturday November 9,2019 at 10:34am (3) times "When would this package be Delivered and she replied Tuesday or Wednesday of the following week.She stated it would be picked up on Monday November 11,2019.It was a URGENT Building Permit and I told her that if it could not be there by the date she promised,I could send it regular mail and it would reach the destination in the same amount of time or LESS.I specifically asked her to have the UPS Driver to drop off the envelope with no signature required. I just looked at the status and it shows delivery was attempted today and no one was there to receive it. I SENT IT NO SIGNATURE REQUIRED AND WAS TOLD BY THE WOMAN THEY WOULD LEAVE IT. SHE LIED AGAIN! It has not been delivered and will not be until the end of the business day tomorrow (7) DAYS AFTER It was SENT!. IT WOULD ONLY TAKE (5) DAYS BY REGULAR MAIL!!!!!!! I have always been a fan of UPS and The UPS store but this was without a doubt the worst experience I have ever had not only in a UPS Store but just about anywhere. The woman I spoke with was rude, hostile and argumentative. She was unreasonable in trying to resolve an issue and I ended up having to go to the corporate level. They contacted her and she lied to them about what was on the shipping label which fortunately I had and sent to corporate. It is such a shame that one person can so negatively impact what I'm sure is otherwise a nice store. But I for one will take my business elsewhere. read more
