One star only because Yelp does not have a zero stars feature. This disgustingly crooked merchant charged $260.51 to ship five fairly light items from Florida to California. This is the cost breakdown: 1. Ground residential Shipping - a total of $184.01, including 10 lbs. 25X25X25 box $154.54 + "Add'l Handling" $29.25 + Card Processing Fee $0.22 = $184.0 2. A 20X20X20 box, with packing materials and fees totaling $38.89, including: 20X20X20 box $13.00 + $0.85 Tax = $13.85 20X20X20 Frg. Pack Materials $16.00 + $1.04 Tax = $17.04 20X20X20 Frg Pack Services $8.00 3. A 24X24X24 box, also with packing materials fees, totaling $41.50, including: 24X24X24 Box $17.00 + $1.11 Tax = $18.11 24X24X24 Pack Materials $15.00 + $15.98 Tax = $15.98 24X24X24 Std Pack Service $7.40 Here's the rub: 1. There was no 20X20X20 box. The UPS store packed the items in bubble wrap and set them inside the larger box in a plastic bag with more bubble wrap. With this fraudulent charge, they pocketed at least $38.89. 2. Obviously, there were no services packing the nonexistent 20X20X20 box, nor any separate packing material. This part of the $38.89 overcharge was at least $8.00. 3. No way were the few feet of bubble wrap and tape the UPS Store used worth $31.00 (the $16 charged for "Frg. Pack Materials" for the nonexistent 20X20X20 box plus the $15.00 "Pack Materials" for the larger box). 4. There's no explanation for the $29.25 "Add'l Handling". I regularly use the UPS store around the corner, and I never see an add-on. Adding this $29.95 to the $15.40 packing services charge, the UPS Store charged $44.65 for something that may have taken 10 minutes (and I'm being generous here). 5. The shipping charge was also inflated and in any event unnecessarily high. The original box size was 24X24X24, but as packed it was 24X24X20. The 6. The 25X25X25 shipping fee was an overcharge in any event. The actual shipping box was not a 25X25X25 box, it was a 24X24X24 box. The maximum box size was 24X24X24, and the packed height was only 20". Even then, there were several inches of extra space at the top of the box. shipping cost difference is significant. 7. When the shipper reached out the UPS Store, they responded that "our charges for items being double boxed are alway [sic] to charge fragile packing for the interior box and standard packaging for the exterior box, it is an expensive procedure but we do have a lot of time and materials invested in packaging large fragile items to make sure they arrive undamaged." The problem with this statement is that there was no double box. There was a plastic bag - not taped closed or otherwise secured. It's appalling that the UPS Store would attempt to perpetuate such an easily disproven lie. Do business with this store at your own risk! read more

I have had a mailbox at this location for 16 years and I'm in there two to three times a week. My company receives boxes and also ships boxes out sometimes. This store has always been very well run. The people working here are very friendly and do a great job. We are lucky to have this UPS store so conveniently located on Cape Coral parkway at the Big John's plaza. read more

For those people who complain about the cost associated with packaging something up, do it yourself at home. I have never posted a review about a service, however in the case of entrusting this UPS store to ship my grandmother's china set to my home in Massachusetts, a glowing review is warranted. I brought a complete set of dinner and serve ware to the store the weekend before Christmas. The boxes arrived safely and on time. Moreover, there was not one damaged piece as everything was very carefully wrapped and insulated to withstand shipping. I do not know why the only other review here says that it was a bad experience. I have being to this location several times and every time the service is amazing it doesn't matter who is behind the counter. To the point that I decided to open a mail box here after had several neighbors got their mail stolen. I love that I receive email notifications every time there is a package there, they send me email reminder to let me know that my box needs renewal. I love the service, the hours are extended than the regular postal office so even if is 5:30 pm is still open!! Will continue to do business with them!! read more

On Monday March 5, 2018, I carried my sewing machine into the store. I trusted UPS to ship it safely to my home in Connecticut.The woman at the counter, Lisa, never made eye contact with me and never asked if I wanted additional insurance. Since shipping is not something I do, I did not even know I could ask for more insurance. The man who is responsible for packing was Carlos. I tried to explain to him the value of the sewing machine and to point out parts I was concerned for. He also ignored me. The machine arrived seriously damaged and the store manager, David, has not stepped up to accept responsibility. When I spoke directly with him, he described to me the packing of my machine so he knew there was no bubble wrap. The machine was placed in a very thin cardboard box with pink puff things. It was bumping around loose in there. The manager, David, reported the damage to the local UPS saying they will evaluate the damage and the amount of coverage.But when I went there with the box and stuffing, the person there, Amanda, said I have to ship the box, the stuffing and my sewing machine back to Florida so they can evaluate the damage. I will NEVER ship my machine or anything else with UPS. The receipt says: "Pack and ship guarantee". All I am getting is a run around. I will not give up. I will do my best to give David and his crew a chance to step up, accept responsibility and make it right with me. read more

One of the worst customer service experiences I have ever had and my calls to the owner have gone unanswered. I lived in Georgia and Seattle. I have taken alot of documents to both of those locations for printing and was charged .05 a page and .06 a page in Georgia and Seattle UPS stores. So I walked into the UPS store in Cape Coral with an 18 page document that I need to have printed - two copies for a total of 36 pages. These people charged me $1.00 a page!!!!!! My thinking is this: even though these places are franchises a customer should be able to expect uniform prices from none location to the other. Did I ask the price of the printing beforehand? No. I figured it would be somewhere in the neighborhood of what I have paid in other UPS stores. Imagine if you order Big Macs and you know they are somewhere around $3.00 each. If you travel to say Phoenix and go to a McDonalds for a Big Mac you are not likely to ask at the counter, how much is a big mac because you have a general idea. Imagine your suprise if the cashier tells you that said Big Mac will be $1700 ---that's the same price increase I exerienced. THIS IS A 2,500% INCREASE OVER WHAT I HAVE PAID ELSEWHERE IN THE SAME CHAIN. IT IS APPALLING AND I WILL NEVER GO IN THIS STORE AGAIN. I could buy two boxes of paper for what these clowns charged me. i feel just like someone held a gun to my chest and robbed me. I wish I could give this place 0 stars. I had a simple question for the counter girl, blonde with tattoos, and she got so nasty with me. I was told when I went there with a fedex package that they take them and they deliver them to a fed ex location, so since I was already there and they seemed so nice and sure about it I took there word for it. 5 days later, the tracking number still can't find the package, so I go back to the location and I start off my question with "I had a fed ex package..." and she cut me off 5 times saying in a nasty tone "WE AREN'T FED EX CANT HELP YOU" I asked 4 out of the 5 times if I could just finish my sentence until I finally lost it. Customer service isn't that difficult. But for this b word it clearly is. Ups, take my advice, I'm a manager and have 30 employees, and none of them would ever speak to a customer that way. Fire that girl, she is a rude person, and although I'm only one person, I'll never go back there. But I'm sure if she treats others the way she treated me, you'll lose PLENTY of customers.
