Lots of dancing and usually a big crowd. It's a bit expensive though. It all depends in the vibe you're going for.

UPDATE: The ownership of the bar were very quick to review the incident and responded swiftly and…read moredecisively. It is fair to say, the incident is not a reflection of the ownership or of the experience they are working to create. I trust they will hold the employee in question accountable. ---------- Last night I came into Rumors with friends who all were buying drinks and enjoying one another at the bar. I did not have anything to drink at your bar. One of the women in my party brought me over a cheap little pride flag and put it in my hand, so I took it and held it. The next thing I know, I hear some one yell hey, as I turn I see your bartender/manager that night throw something at me and hit me in my chest. I turn around completely stunned that someone in your staff thought it appropriate to throw items at patrons. The bartender/manager accused me of stealing the flag from her register. I told her that I didn't steal anything, someone gave it to me. I returned it to her and told her do not ever throw anything at me ever again under any circumstances. I was calm but livid at the actions of your staff. I am 43 yo, a former Air Force Officer, an Entreprenuer, the President of a nonprofit organization, and a member of the LGBTQ+ community, I don't take kindly to having trash thrown at me. Your bartender doubled down and said she considers taking the flag stealing, and I told her that she was talking to the wrong person, because I didn't take it. To keep myself calm I decide to turn away from the situation, and your bartender/Manager yells at me to look at her as if I am her child, or some slave required to do what my master has commanded me. So now I'm wondering if the reason she felt comfortable throwing trash at me me is because I'm Black and she doesn't respect Black people. I let my group know I don't want to be at this bar anymore, and they also agree they do not want to be at the bar. I begin walking toward the door, while the women I'm with finish their drinks and put their coats on. One of the women with me tells the bartender/manager that she was making very interesting choices of treating a group of people that were taking very good care of her. As they are having this conversation, I walk to the doorman and ask for the manager to find out the bartender who threw trash at me was the manager. So I ask for the owner's number as I told him what happened. He laughed when he heard and I asked him if he thought throwing trash at patrons was funny. He said he did not. He pulled out a piece of paper saying this is what we give people that are kicked out. By this time my group is all at the door and waiting for me to get the information. I do not take the piece of paper because we aren't getting kicked out, we are leaving, and I want to report this behavior. The bartender manager comes over, admits to throwing trash at me, and then says we have to get out because we're being divas. So she throws trash at me, my group decided to leave and get management's information on the way out, and she runs up behind us and tries to kick us out on our way out the bar. This is complete unacceptable, and I hope not something completely indicative of the culture of your bar. The door man did follow us out and apologized profusely for the incident. I'd like to speak with the owner about this so that we can de-escalate this situation. Justice Cālo Reign Board President, Invest Attention Media & Entertainment

"I'm your biggest fan I'll follow you until you love me…read morePapa-paparazzi!" Door burst open with the tug of a firm hand... A staircase for the history books descending down into a wonderland of decadence, class and charm... At the very end just left of the second door, the one you've been waiting for, is a stand and a flock of stylish gentlemen to confirm legality to enter such a establishment (21+ & over) . Not to mention give you a friendly Victoria welcome minus the Cher cabaret burlesque number in the first act of Burlesque the movie. Paparazzi is s true hidden gem or diamond in the rough as another put it. A well known spot that doesn't like to scream itself as a gay night club or lgbtq+ establishment... Because it's a space where all are welcome and can be relished for lack of a better accompanying term. While the fixtures, back booths, pool tables and lay out are dated with underground 80s aesthetics in a good way... It's also up to date with sick beats, an amazing full bar and lots of friendly faces and people. The stained pool tables are apart of the charm... And after spilling a few drops of one of our cocktails on one of them... we quickly saw why... The two black boxes on the dance floor are just a step up and open to any and all when the dance party is on. They do have performances here, including drag shows so this may be one of the times that space wouldn't be open to patrons. We definitely worked them like it was their last night they'd be in use (pre-pandemic). The cover to get in is pretty fair, however is cash only. They do except US/American dollars if you're from out of the country as a lot of people often are. Next trip to Victoria, BC... "Baby, there's no other superstar You know that I'll be... Your papa-paparazzi!"

This club is not following proper procedures for verifying Covid vaccinations. Stay away!…read moreLast night, Friday November 5, my friend and I went to the Carlton Club hoping to enjoy some karaoke.  When we arrived we both presented our proof of vaccination, which we had each obtained through the BC Government app.  My friend had hers saved to her phone I had mine printed on a card in my wallet - both of which options are acceptable, according to the government website.  However, the doorman at the Carlton Club refused to accept my printed card.  He claimed that they had been told by the government that only digital copies would be accepted after October 24, which is not what is reflected on the BC Government site.  When I told him that I didn't have a digital copy, he sarcastically said "Do you not have a phone?"  This is a) none of his business and b) counter to the government's own website, which states that both digital and printed copies of the new proof of vaccination with the QR code will be accepted everywhere.  I showed him on that website where that is written and was still refused entry.  Not only that, but he also did not scan my friend's QR code for verification.  He never once even removed his hands from his pockets. I get that maybe he didn't want to use his personal device for scanning everyone's vaccination cards, but the Carlton Club should have provided something - this is a major requirement! Overall, the whole interaction came off as a rude, lazy, officious employee randomly refusing entry to people and not following regulations. We took our business elsewhere and had a great night.
