I ordered the King Prawn Scampi and Fries, while my husband had the Burger. Both arrived very quickly, but unfortunately, when I started eating mine, I found that some pieces of scampi were warm while others were noticeably colder. The Burger, on the other hand, was absolutely delicious.
It gave the impression that the scampi had been pre-cooked and kept warm, with portions then being served at different temperatures.
Soon after the food arrived, our waiter asked if everything was OK. I explained that, although the scampi was edible, it could have been hotter, and he immediately offered to replace it. As it was initially edible, I declined. Unfortunately, I then bit into a genuinely cold piece. By this point, the waiter had moved on to other tables, and asking for a replacement would have taken a little while. By the time he came back into our vicinity, I had eaten the fries and had been put off the scampi altogether.
Another waiter cleared our plates but didn't ask whether there had been a problem with my meal, despite me having left most of it. Fortunately, our original waiter noticed this and asked the manager to come and speak to me, resulting in the scampi being removed from the bill.
Unfortunately, the manager's response was disappointing. She offered what felt like a rather half-hearted apology and, from the way she dealt with the situation, left me feeling as though I should not return.
It was a shame, because our waiter was excellent throughout and handled the situation exactly as I would have expected. Perhaps he should be the manager... just a thought!
