One of the worst experiences! This establishment was at one time a great neighborhood restaurant . Twisted Grape was selected for a birthday celebration based on our previous experiences. Family members drove from Cary and Southern Pines to have dinner together. Order for four (4) drinks and four (4) meals placed- Thirty (30 minutes) later NO drinks and NO meals. Reataurant/bar was not busy (25% occupancy). No rational reason for what transpired next. After - (1) salad , order of nachos and 1 beer brought to table. No other drinks for other 3 guests at the table. Fifteen minutes later still NOTHING.... When Manager and server questioned wrong drink orders arrived at table but NO food . Remember this was a birthday dinner! When food finally came out- steak was over-cooked -medium versus medium rare, salmon was dry and wrong sides delivered., broccoli was "mush" and ranch dressing for wings was consistency of milk. Disgusting. Finally, had new server, Channah stepped up and took charge.trying to remedy this nightmare. Manager should be fired!!!! Channah prevented us walking out of the door. Totally unacceptable and preventable occurrence. I ordered the spicy fettuccine Alfredo with Shrimp, amazingly delicious and was a lot of course my daughter finished it off and service was good. The only drawback was my Top-shelf Dirty Martini I ordered.. sadly was not tasty at all, I hated sending it back and didn't want to chance another mixed drink but my daughter and her boyfriend enjoyed their slushy raspberry mimosa!! Service was great. Food was ok. Salmon was overcooked, the potato could have been cooked longer. Unfortunate because the restaurant was not busy on Sunday. Pleasant experience. Came in on a Tuesday at 4, right when they opened. Started with the sweet chili wings and pot stickers. Wings were great! Pot stickers were ok. For entrees we ordered the Surf and Turf, Diablo, and pesto Alfredo. No complaints about any of the dishes. The Diablo with a side of spicy ranch was pretty great, highly recommended. I feel like the pesto pasta serving was small, but the taste was good. The creme brûlée and cheesecake were great. read more

While staying in the area for part of our trip we stumbled across this place. We went on a fairly busy Saturday night without reservation and they were more than willing to accommodate! They just asked us to go towards the bar while they found us room. We had one drink and made our way back in. There is a main restaurant, and outdoor sitting area with a full bar, and then another area full of tables! Music was reasonably played, keeping it lively and still able to have conversation across the table. The food: I ordered the Diablo (shrimp) and it was delicious! Lots of flavor with a nice amount of spice. I would certainly eat it again! The service: our waitress was a delight, young southern girl who was nothing but helpful, very kind and attentive. Food and drinks were reasonably priced as well. Overall very happy with the meal we had with them! read more

An OK restaurant with OK food. We stopped because it was on our way home. This was really an average restaurant, with average food and service. Nothing stood out, nor was anything bad. I found it odd that this bar food restaurant had a bartender that didn't know how to make a skinny margarita. The crunch in the fried chicken fingers were very Crunchy to hard. I liked it, but some may think it's too fried and dry. Will I return? Perhaps, if I am passing by again. read more

Very disappointing! The prices are too high for this same town restaurant. Have eaten here a few times and am never overly impressed. Decided to grab as a call in take out. Won't do that again. Ordered the chicken Alfredo...$16.90 for a very small tray! My wife ordered a salad that had almost zero toppings. Please see our pictures. Also was told our take out order would be ready in twenty minutes but waited forty! The salad-Southern fried chicken salad. Supposed to have cucumbers, bacon, Monterey Jack cheese, (tomatoes-none for me), and croutons. Sitting here on the beautiful and relaxing patio of Twisted Grape enjoying my beer flight on a Friday night. The patio is cool and calm with a fun atmosphere as well with Cocktails, pool, and a funky mix of 70s and 80s playing in the background. Upon arriving around 630 it was already packed, so I checked in with the hostesses and then grabbed a beer flight at the bar while I waited. I loved that they had a mix of local and national beers; but I was a little saddened by their wine selection that had no local wines. So, decided to stick with their local beers and picked four for the wine flight for just $6!! Wow! I waited for my table while I sipped and enjoyed their free wifi. I got sat about 30 minutes later and asked about another table as it was just going to be myself and a friend. The lady, who later became my waitress, quickly cleaned off and sat me at one of the smaller tables with adult high chairs next to the parking. It was so nice with a light breeze blowing! I had to try a couple of times to get in the chair, but it was so worth it! I can't wait for the sun to go down and the band to play. They have local music on Friday and Saturday night; along with drink specials everyday they are open! Definitely a must to stop on the way to wherever you are going on 87. I am just sad that I did not stop sooner. read more

Twisted Grape is my go to restaurant in a pinch. The restaurant is located right off HWY 87 which makes it convenient and it is also one of the few sit down restaurants between spring lake and Sanford. Because of this, it has a tendency to get pretty busy during brunch and lunch on the weekends. However, although their billboard appears to advertise this place as an upscale, crunchy brunch location, I think it has more of a billiards, bar feel to it, especially in the evening. The food is decent and the staff are friendly. My usual order consists of the Greek Salad with grilled chicken or wings. read more

Waiter AJB did a great job taking care of us and our pup. We sat outside in the spacious patio section. Mimi was treated to a bowl of water. We enjoyed our IPAs and club sodas. The restaurant is off the 87 and has good parking. We had the potstickers to satisfy our immediate hunger pangs. The Diablo bowl was flavorful and not overly spicy. The Caesar salad wrap was fresh and plump with chicken. Mimi had the grilled chicken and wolfed it down. Good stop for a long drive. The exterior sign needs an update. My mom insisted that I have dinner here with her on my next time in town. We decided to hit it up after a long walk in Carver's Creek SP just a few miles down the road. It's easy to find and get to, though oddly tucked into a corner right in front of a neighborhood and not really near any other businesses. Seems like a popular stop for the military families. There's a huge, loud bar area and three billiards tables. I was actually pretty impressed. The extensive menu has something for everyone. Even calling it Italian is almost a misnomer because I feel like it makes up no more than half of the menu. There's a full page dedicated to appetizers - we got the spinach dip. It was broiled a tad on top to give it a sort of crispy crust. I practically devoured it - my poor mother didn't stand a chance. I hope she wasn't hungry... There are plenty of pasta bowls, chicken and seafood dishes. There's even a specific tacos section - not Italian but a must have for a well rounded meal. My mother and I had both settled on the same two meals and each of us picked one. She got the grilled salmon with the bourbon glaze. It was amazing and the salmon was not overcooked. I got the blackened fish tacos. These were surprising and incredible, to say the least. They chuck an entire tilapia filet onto each taco. I hope you come hungry if you order this (I did, thankfully). Though the fish itself wasn't quite blackened, I have zero complaints. I was pleasantly plump at the end of my meal. They have an extensive beer and wine menu, though I didn't partake. The only thing that could have made the place better would have been a slightly more inviting atmosphere and staff experience. May have just been our waitress though - just doing the job. The prices also seemed high at first, but that concern totally disappears when you see the volume and quality of the food. read more

The first time I ate here it was delicious, so I decided to return for lunch. we waited along time, when I got my meal , it was raw, I told our waitress, she apologized and said they would make me a new meal, when that came out , it was not cooked, so I told the waitress, she offered to cook it again, but at that time I was done. the staff done everything in there power to make it right. The staff really care about the customers, I was so impressed by the staff , I will be returning, this is absolutely a great place, you will love it. read more

This is an interesting establishment with good food and good service. Our party was large: over 20 people. Our wait staff were expedient and friendly. While I did see one order get lost in the kitchen, as the food was delivered late, it came with a ticket for a complimentary appetizer and a sincere apology. This before anything was said and while serving the large group. Classy! My wife and I enjoyed the fried pickles: perfectly prepared with a light, delicious ranch sauce. We also had a grilled chicken Greek salad. Worth mentioning was the juicy, perfectly seasoned chicken breast and a thick, savory homemade Greek salad dressing. The venue appears to specialize in wine and beer. Certainly worth more visits and exploration. Live entertainment on Fridays. read more

There service. Me and my wife went here and it took about 20mins for someone to come to our table. Which we didn't mind because we was going over the menu. But the waitress(I believe her name was Kaite) did not serve us at all. Someone from the back had to come up and be our server as she walked pass us multiple times. The restaurant was not packed at all just 4 maybe 5 tables. When our food came out part of it was cold but we didn't have a waiter or waitress to tell that too. As well as we was only brought 1 rounds of drinks no refills. A couple came in of a different skin and sat behind us and they was greated with service as soon as they sat down as we was still walked over. The food we did eat was good and had great taste but because of the service I don't think we will be back and this was our first time. read more

Three is being generous, imo, mostly due to waitresses and waiters. There is outdoor seating here with pool tables and trivia on certain nights. On nice nights, the ambience is so wonderful - great place to hang with friends - IF no one is smoking. Otherwise you leave smelling like an ashtray, reeking of stale smoke. There is no way to avoid it out there - or inside because the door constantly being opened. Staff is hit or miss. We've had phenomenal, we have had terrible, just depends. Food takes a hot minute to come out. We like most of the food options, but to be honest I think that for portion size it is expensive. It's sort of a bizarre place in that there is bar food next to somewhat fancy Italian-style food. I wish it didn't take so long and I wish they would instill a no smoking policy inside the covered patio area. We come from an area where common policy is no smoking in eating establishments, so it was a surprise to us for sure. It's seems as though I'm harping on it, but it's just A LOT of smoke. Had dinner on a Sunday evening, a party of three. No wait, friendly staff sat us immediately. Pro tip - go here on Sundays or Thursdays - Friday and Saturday are really busy. We ordered wings as an appetizer, they were cooked well, hot, and came with ranch and bleu cheese. I ordered the chicken florentine with mushrooms and zucchini - best part of the meal was the mushrooms. My husband had the all American burger and fries - well cooked and the fries were so crispy. My friend had the salmon, looked like she enjoyed it. The only gripe for the night - they were out of a few things on the menu and had to come back to the table a few times to let us know. read more

Something is not right about the alcohol being served here. I've been here on different occasions and the first time the Patron taste watered down. Then the second time the Crown Royal tasted like Paul Mason. Putting different alcohol in the bottles and serving the customers is just foul. You can really make someone sick like this. read more
