Everyone was taking video of their child and he just singled her out. This was after he rudely kicked my brother and father out of their seats and proceeded to drag them through the theater to seats that were reserved by others in 3 different areas. They ended up back in the equivalent seats on the opposite side of the theater. This is the Sterling Stars Dance Recital not a professional show where those rules apply. .. so if this guy is reading this YOU SUCK and it is your fault that you guys got this review . I came here to see my goddaughter perform in her recital with the Detroit Dance Center. The…read morefacility itself is really nice and HUGE. It's part of the Grosse Pointe North H.S. complex and finding the parking entrance can be a little tricky. We were running tight on time and after looping around a bit I was afraid I would be late. Luckily,kids are not exactly the easiest to get to start on time so we were comfortably seating as it was beginning. This is one of the few HS theatres in the area that has a balcony, which is where my friend and my goddaughter's whole crew were seating (I'm pretty sure we bought out the whole section), and the view was great. I wasn't involved in any of the tech for the performance or anything so I can't speak to that but as a guest and audience member we had a lovely time.

The Fisher is the absolute best. The volunteer staff are so helpful and friendly; they really know…read moretheir stuff. I especially like that they help us line up and get through the restrooms and back in our seats during the intermission. Everything was spotless and had a beautiful holiday vibe; lots of bars throughout so no wait in line, and even getting in and out of the surface lot only took about 10 minutes. We each had a lovely Moscow mule and the show was fantastic. We were in the "penthouse" as the volunteers call it, and even up there, we had a great view and beautiful sound. Also, the retail shops on the first floor were open, so you could do a little shopping before or after the show; I think we'll go even earlier next time to take it all in. A wonderful experience, and I can't wait to see another show here.

Favorite part was the robotics play that was going on at the DIA. The projected vines and flowers at the Science Center was hella strong. Then there's giant blow up bunny rabbits across the street from the DIA. Anyways, I had a great time looking at all to the exhibits here. A fun "NO MONEY SPENT" good time in the city with my fiance'. I recently attended a show at this venue & it was a nice place with good sound. However, it was…read moreupsetting to see all the people being assaulted by security for dancing. I could tell they were concerned that people were going to start "moshing" but any time crown members started moving around, even just dancing, the security guards would grab them by the neck in a chokehold, drag them out the side exit & slam them down on the pavement. I witnessed this happen to dozens of audience members. I have never seen such violent techniques used for crowd control. It seemed to me that the staff really enjoyed beating up on the crowd of white kids. Also, a security guard who decided to just stand in the middle of the crowd, right next to me, stomped extremely hard on my foot & it is still sore several days later. I will never set foot in that horrible venue again.
