I ordered a Fucking Fabulous Eau de Parfum Set, marked as a gift, and intentionally did not open the box upon delivery because I wanted to keep the factory packaging intact for Christmas. Since we are traveling for the holidays, we decided to exchange gifts earlier -- and only then discovered that the contents did not match expectations and the presentation was completely disappointing. This was meant to be a special, thoughtful gift, and unfortunately the experience turned into a very upsetting one. Opening the box together should have been a joyful moment, but instead it caused real frustration and sadness. I understand mistakes can happen, and your support team has already confirmed that a refund will be issued, which I appreciate. However, I feel it is important to share how disappointing this situation was. When purchasing a luxury brand gift, especially at this price point, you trust the brand completely -- particularly when the item is intended as a present and marked as such. I did everything a customer reasonably could: ordered in advance, did not open the package, trusted the brand. Sadly, that trust was not justified in this case. While lights and darks don't get washed together as a rule, this now made me wonder how much the coloring of the JE sweatshirt had bled into other dark garments I had washed with it in the past and subtley changed their color, too. You can either make an appointment if you have a designated associate at the store or do a walk-in. The latter you'll need to get into a line and check in with an associate before entering. The gentleman I was assigned to showed me all of the stock they had remaining for the Murakami collection, which was mostly accessories and a limited amount of apparel. I did try the swimwear on and liked the one piece more than the two piece swim. I had to pass though, due to them not having my size available in store. The associate kindly suggested I try ordering it online as I could try it and return all online orders. (In store sales are final or can be exchanged only.) In terms of parking, I like picking one of the public lots like the one by Crate and Barrel and walking.

I've always been so impressed by the service at this Maxfield location. You are greeted at the door and the sales people do eye you up and down to see what you're wearing and your personal style but they are courteous and trying to help you find what you're looking for or what brands you like. Luis Rodriguez helped me and my friend this last visit and he is simply outstanding. Such a great eye for detail and so knowledgeable and passionate about Maxfield and everything they have in the store. Really helpful, and he made my friend's visit to the store special and he loved his purchases. This store has always been extremely cool and cutting edge and brought the work of so many new designers to LA. The avant garde design tradition has continued with their installation of a Jean Prouvé 1957 pre-fabricated "Structure Nomade" which was brought from France and reconstructed next to the store at 8825 Melrose, with a 100 year old olive tree planted next to it. They showcase stunning fashion and art installations inside its glass walls. Maxfield also has a dramatically designed Chrome Hearts store (by appointment only) next door on Robertson. You can inquire about it in this store. Maxfield is like a modern art museum with the statues outside, the stark angular concrete walls, the single large display window facing Melrose, the beautiful and dramatic lighting at night and the way everything is exhibited inside. It's definitely a must see in Los Angeles and there's nothing else like it. Items can be very expensive but they also have a fabulous sale at the end of each season that shouldn't be missed.
