The crowd definitely has its drunks, but there were lots of families and kids. Metro PD patrols around on foot, but they tend to hang closest to the porta potties and food stands. Definitely eat and drink before you get in here because as you could expect, prices are insane.

Cannery Ballroom is part of a three venue building which includes Mercy Lounge and The High Watt…read more I will start by saying that entry into the venue was one of the easiest concert entries I have ever experienced. It starts outside and since there are multiple venues, many times with acts going on at the same time, they ask you outside what venue and then direct you to the line for that particular space. They have several folks at the door to check ID's, COVID status and to scan tickets. They are all friendly and efficient. When you enter, Cannery Ballroom is to the left. You walk through an open room where the merch tables are usually set up. This did create a back-up of folks as the line grew for merch, which began to block folks who wanted to go straight into the ballroom. The Ballroom is a large open space with the lights/sound tea set in the back and surrounding by barriers, then to the right of the entry you have a large bar and in the center of the back wall you have the stage! On the site it stated that Cannery Ballroom has standing capacity of 1,000 and honestly, that is terrifying to think about in that space! It is a decent sized space that is laid out quite well, but 1,000 folks seems like a lot of folks in that room! I am sure it happens without issue, but I am not sure if that is the show I want to be at! There were a few things that I was really impressed with at Cannery Ballroom. They are... - Bartenders - The Bartenders were not only friendly, but they were efficient! I had the pleasure of visiting two through out the evening and both were on points with everyone. They took multiple orders at one time, rang folks up, rang folks out, made drinks, answered questions and ensured no one went thirsty and did it all with a great attitude! - View of the stage - Not a bad "seat" in the house! You have a great view to the stage from anywhere in the room. Only thing that would be an issue is if you get stuck behind one the beams in the back or behind that pesky tall person! - Entry - As mentioned above, the entrance process was super easy, efficient and hassle free! - Service - From the door folks to the bartenders and random staff wondering around, everyone was super nice and helpful. On the flip side, the list of things that were less than stellar was short, the only things that really stuck out where the merch table location and the fact that the AC was not running during the show and it was HOT! This is another reason why I would not want to be part of that 1,000 person crowd. It was already hot in the ballroom and I could not imagine a few hundred more folks and the heat generated! Overall, Cannery Ballroom was a fantastic spot for a concert! We really enjoyed ourselves from entry to exit! We are excited to catch many more shows not only here, but at the two other spots in the building!

The lineup: Bayway, Kruelty, and Peeling Flesh. This place was Rockin' beyond belief! We had people stage-diving, doing roundhouse kicks, one dude just storming through the crowd like a bulldozer, an insane mosh pit, the best drummer I have ever seen for Kruelty, an extremely underrated band in Bayway, and energy through the roof with Peeling Flesh! It was absolute organized chaos! And I couldn't have been happier. Imagine a scene where it's energy Level 10 from start to finish across all three bands. That's what happened. And it was the perfect venue for it because it's small but not too small. The parking and drink prices here are high as they would be at any concert venue, but the staff is great. A really chill while also alert staff that treats everyone like a human being as opposed to a piece of revenue. The entire experience was incredibly authentic. And if you're hungry before the show, there is a barbecue place and a pizza shop within walking distance. Highly recommended! Awesome experience. By the way, the parking lot is literally right next to the building. It's super simple.

It was a cool place with a nice design, but we had waited over 50 minutes long than we were supposed to, to get in. Once we got in the venue, it was packed and very chaotic. On top of that, the staff was extremely rude and yelled at people several times because they were in the way of traffic, rather than guiding them to the correct spot. Overall, it was a pretty bad experience that ruined the point of the show for me.

They had three bands on the bill and the headliner was celebrating a record release so the vibe in there was really positive as folks rotated on and off stage with friends brought on to play. It was very lovely to be included in such a joyful expression of their community and collaboration. The genre was a bit more singer songwriter so I'm not sure what it's like when there are heavier bands on stage but for what we saw the sound was pitch perfect as well. The space itself isn't huge but spacious enough. It felt cozy with the mood lighting and the layout of the floor lent itself more to intimate feel. There's a small bar on the side with easy access to no matter where you're at. There was also a small medical emergency at one point during the show and it was taken care of carefully and thoughtfully and the crowd really showed care and respect. It was a good vibe overall.

I saw many shows here back in the day, and to be honest it was one of my less favorite venues in the city due to sound quality. It always felt like the sound would bounce off all of that brick and be distorted in all the wrong ways. The layout was often odd, with booths tucked in behind posts behind the general pit/standing area. Not sure what all was changed or updated on a technical level, but this time around the sound was far better. It was actually pretty great. The Mil is the mid-sized room of the venue, the main stage being the largest with a smaller intimate space downstairs. While there for the Mayberry show, there was another show going on at the main stage. I actually got misdirected (likely with a little user error) into that area before finding my way to the Mil, and that show was already off to a deafening start before ours even began and there was no bleedover with the sound from venue to venue. Pretty impressive. The bouncers/security and staff were all friendly, upbeat and helpful. Looks like an Evolv gun-spotting security device was employed and it was not obtusive--no patdowns and such, no wanding. Bathrooms clean and well stocked. Only complaint at all is drink prices. Look, I know most major venues in the city overprice drinks, that's just how it goes. They depend on that revenue to host the shows, the customer is over a barrel if they wish to imbibe within such a closed system. But a draft beer with a shot of well whiskey should not run $25+, lol.

Hot take....but it's rarely a great place to see a show. This space has a character of its own and…read moreif the show you're seeing doesn't fit it, then the show suffers. The acoustics are very lively which means if you're seeing anything other than an acoustic act, lyrics will probably be unintelligible. The center floor seats especially suffer from this when the crowd is standing due to the lack of PA coverage past the front fills that cover the first few rows. The pews are tight...and restrict a crowd from dancing. And if you dare to have an end seat and take one dance step out into an aisle, an usher on a power trip will be on you in milliseconds. The security and ushers roaming the crowd during the shows always lead to an unsettling feeling of supervision in a space where people come to let loose and express themselves. From a visual perspective it's also just odd. Half of the floor seats are covered by the mezzanine with an extremely obstructive view of anything happening above the performers. Then, if you do have a full stage view, the house is painted such a bright color that leaves you feeling like you're in a living room rather than at a concert. Which can absolutely be the vibe for the right act. I understand and respect the history of the Ryman, but just wish bands/promoters would choose more suitable venues rather than booking this room for its reputation. The Ryman is more of a PAC at its core. Great for acoustic/folk/quiet acts.

The sound engineers are very experienced. We have enjoyed many acts here. Their have a very dynamic roster of acts. They do a great job mixing it up. There is some stool Seating, but it is mainly a standing room. The building is old and shows signs of its age, but This is the kind of venue that adds to the musical character of Nashville! The bar selections are quite good. Love that they serve Belle Meade Bourbon. There is a free parking lot which fills up first, but there is also near by pay parking. But I would suggest you uber.

They have a tremendous amount of security and they are super helpful in getting you to the correct space for your night. The Hyatt is on the second floor. Smaller than the first floors space but adequate. There's enough space for vendors, dancing & a bar. They have one bartender and she ROCKS! She's quick and doesn't miss a beat. I will say that I was a bit surprised by the prices - seems more & more that Nashville is now as expensive as NYC. I paid $8 for a rum & coke and $8 for a shot of rum - it took me a second to do the math??? Nevertheless the performance was amazing (Morning After Crew - check them out!) and a fabulous & safe time was had by all! Oh yea the bathrooms were clean & on point - this is a major thing for me.
