I brought the hide of a prized cow to this facility and made an agreement to have it sent to a commercial tannery (after Larry's did the basic tanning) so it could be made soft and pliable with a velour type backing and easily sewn. This animal was a pet and suffered a terrible accident though no damage was done to the hide- it was pristine as much care had been taken on our part to skin her carefully as making a blanket from her was going to be my way pf keeping her forever. They advised how skilled they were at power-washing the hide as opposed to hand removing the remaining flesh. When finished, it had multiple square feet of areas they power washed the fur off completely and attempted to cover it with what can only be described as brown spackle. (Poorly...clumpy...disgusting and insulting.) They tried to blame me (somehow...as if that was possible,) but ended up (accidentally) admitting that the person who power washed it was no longer employed there. It was NEVER sent to a commercial tannery (though I was still charged as if it was) as it was more stiff than cardboard. The pulled it out of a cardboard box after pulling a beer can from the top of it and a bunch of dog food fell out becasue there was a mouse nest in the hide becasue they just folded up the crunchy hide and stuck it in a box. It was covered in mouse poop and pee and chews and stunk TERRIBLY of cigarettes. (Good news is they offered to SELL me a wash to get rid of that smell.) They destroyed the tail, which I stressed was the most important part and basically told me I was left with no choice but to pay or I would not receive my (destroyed) hide. I could not possibly be more disgusted and disappointed with this place and would not recommend it to anyone...unless you are interested to walking into an episode of Trailer Park Boys and always wondered what a business would look like if you smoked and drank all day and let Miniature Pincers run around and poop and pee on the floor all day. Had I gone inside the room where they work the first time...I NEVER would have agreed for them to do the work. ABSOLUTELY REPULSIVE PLACE and completely dishonest people who are incapable of taking accountability for the screw ups of their own place of business.
