I've got to give props to the owners and staff of Backhouse Cafe, Coffee & Tea, located in the…read moremetropolis of Williamsport PA. I go to backhouse as do many of my friends and associates, anywhere from 3 to 5 days a week to start my day. It is ALWAYS without fail, not only a great experience and a nice, non stressful way to start my day, but the coffee is hands down, the best I've ever had. I drive in 20 minutes almost every day, to experience a little slice of heaven on earth. Great conversations, or just enjoy the sunshine on their deck or in the front yard with my java. They have excellent 10/10 pastries out every day, in addition to crustless quiche, and when I'm not "carnavoring", i get the quiche with crust. The Owners, Ron and June, and all of the staff go above and beyond, to make you feel welcome, and to see that you are having a top notch experience. With that being said, I've seen some people come in and they are just ridiculous. Karen's and Ken's, trying to squeeze them for a Large for the price of a medium, add this add that and so on, and Ron is happy to do that, if you aren't an B***hole, and ask for all of the extra shots and pumps to be free. Come on people! Support mom and pop business, and cut loose of the other 30 cents to get the coffee you want, and don't act like an entitled %#@*& and storm out when you are told that's an extra charge. Try to go to any restaurant and ask for an extra side of 1000 island for example for your burger. They will and should charge you for that. It's not charity. Do yourself a favor, get a punch card while you are there, get it punched each time you buy a coffee, and you will fill it up quickly. Then get a free coffee when you turn it in. Love that idea! I can't say enough how much i love this place. The owners and the staff are just great people. Best coffee shop that i have been to, and i travel the entire USA. Kevin

The entrance to the shop is slightly hidden, but once we found it, we opened the door to the friendliest staff and pleasant smells of different milk teas and asian desserts. The staff member that took our order was patient, kind, and willing to answer any questions we had with a smile on her face. The menu offers not only a plethora of different fruit and milk tea flavors but also includes an assortment of pearls, toppings, and sweetness levels, all at reasonable prices (I would've paid more!). I ordered a thai milk tea with tapioca pearls and a slice of Koriyama cheesecake, and my fiancé ordered a Sala pink milk tea with tapioca as well, both with 100% sweetness in the drinks. The wait for our order was only a couple of minutes, and admiring the kawaii, Asian paradise themed decorations made the wait very enjoyable! When our drinks were ready, we took our first sips and were slowly taken in by the perfectly brewed teas and chewy tapioca! I prefer my thai milk tea and boba to be slightly warm (given the tapioca being warmed), and I couldn't have asked for better constructed boba tea! My fiancé was very pleased with how the slightly fruity flavor was complimented by the tapioca. The cheesecake wasn't overly rich and melted deliciously with each bite! We WILL be returning soon and bringing family along next time!

The Sawhorse Cafe, Williamsport Pa…read more The breakfasts are pretty good, as is the coffee. I'd say a 5 or possibly 6 out of 10. The space is small and cramped, with an unfriendly "woke" vibe. I've gone there on and off for a few years hoping the vibe might change to be more welcoming, but It hasn't. The last time I was there, I brought my wife for a relaxing breakfast together. There was one table left. I put my phone on the table and got in line to order our food, so when the food comes up we aren't standing there holding our food trying to eat standing up. The two girls in line in front of us waiting to order did the same exact thing, as their 2 purses were on a table and were in front of me in line, as did another man that I know was in line with his hat on a table. However, they decided to humiliate and embarrass us, telling us to take our things off the table and order first before taking a table. Even though we've done it many times before and most people do. We unfortunately were their petty examples of the day. We got out of line and left and spent our money at another breakfast spot that is equally as good or better, without the stress, humiliation and woke attitudes. We will never be back to The Sawhorse Cafe in Williamsport Pa, and I will be sure to tell my circle of friends about my unpleasant experience so they can too decide if they want to eat there. Maybe with less people coming in, we can help your seating dilemma.
