Fast forward to now, and he is in the kickboxing/mma class and absolutely loves them! First off, all the youth coaches are OUTSTANDING! The main coach for the class is Wayne and he is great with the kids. He is firm but is there for them and all the kids love and respect him. Coach Felix and Justin are equally as amazing with the kids. The kids form a good relationship with these coaches from what I can see. Now for the best part; as far as for me and my son. He's grades have improved! No joke. He likes to attend the 4pm class, being that he gets out of school at 2:15 he knows I will not take him unless his homework is done. Now my son wasn't to bad with homework before but let me tell you, it's amazing to see my son be so excited to do his homework and get it done right so he can make HIS 4pm class( A class that he also works hard in for an hour straight). My son is more confident in himself now. This class has made him a stronger person; physically, emotionally, and mentally. Best money I've ever spent! The trainer let me in, instructed me where to put my stuff, had me fill out some forms, and gave an overview of what to expect. I honestly did not know what to expect when I first arrived, but I was not expected to jump into the workout immediately. He explained what to expect in less than three minutes. I was given maybe less than a minute to stretch and get ready before my first round was up. It was nice to be able to see the workout on the screen and get some help from the trainer when needed. The staff was really nice and gave me tips when I hit the kickboxing rounds. I learned that you could drop in whenever you wanted, and there weren't structured times or appointments required since all of the workouts were on the screens. I found that I enjoy workout classes that have an actual instructor more so it wasn't for me.

Just to give a general impression of the class I saw, there seemed to be a joking/ ribbing/ clowning vibe. Unfortunately, as I came into the big room, a group of people in the class looked and commented and laughed at me. If that's something that doesn't bother you, then cool. I noticed some weird things like that here and there between people. As I finished and left the boxing ring, two girls hanging together referred to me as a "slut". While I was training in the boxing ring, the owner/Ed I guess came over a few times, and one time he said that I was doing great "sweetheart". Maybe it was just this particular class, but I personally felt that this just was not a fit.

They are the absolute best I have seen in training, support, kindness, respect and all without humiliating or screaming at your child. They hold the students accountable for their actions with wisdom and explanations. I actually have put off the thought of moving from the area just to keep my daughter in this facility. I have also taken the kickboxing classes myself to get in physical shape for my job and I dropped 30lbs in 2 months! I've grown to love the staff and the familiar faces that I've watched grow up here. They take the classes seriously, but have this incredible way of adding humor and fun and adjusting the levels of seriousness to the proper age groups. The little kids love the staff, and learn about respecting them and each other as well as their parents. I highly recommend coming and at least trying one class, whether it's for your child or even yourself in one of the adult classes. Best decision I've made for my young child to show her what it is to stick with a good program through her life and earn rewards, (advancing a belt), and to continue even when tired, (like after volleyball practice). What was different about this place, in my opinion, was that it's the little things about a coach that makes a huge difference in your training. I appreciate the fact that the coach gave you those little tips and tricks that ever so slightly will tweak your performance and help you to finish a submission or get out of an uncomfortable position..
