We went on a Thursday afternoon...the bar was surrounded by ladies when we walked in and it got real quiet...I felt like we might have been interrupting something but we ordered our drinks and they started talking again. You can definitely tell that this is a locals bar. After our first drink the ladies started to talk to us and I started to really enjoy myself. The bartender was friendly and drinks were on par for what we'd paid the rest of the week. Not sure why I expected this bar to be bigger because I knew it was literally a trailer. But it was decorated hilariously and it was clean. I would have loved to return that night for karaoke but I must be getting old because when I heard it didn't start until 9pm, I knew that we'd have to do that another trip. Trailer Bar is such a great experience with an amazing vibe! We stopped in on our first night of vacation and got to enjoy a concert by The Several Devils, who are clearly a local favorite. Even though the place was packed, it never felt overwhelming or uncomfortable--the energy was just right. The staff is super friendly, the drinks are reasonably priced, and I was impressed with how attentive the bartenders were, even with such a big crowd. Trailer Bar is always a great time. It is a such a great dive bar with a large area out front for live music. They have a dance floor, a big deck for sitting a bar area in the middle and clean bathrooms. The hardest let about getting to the bathrooms is that it is right beside the pool tables and it is very crowded. The bar is very crowded. Went for Karaoke. Fun, clean, small dive bar. Was off season so looked like locals were sitting around the bar. You could pick up a conversation with any of them. Friendly. I went there with my parents one night. It was affordable, fun to listen to music, and good to just stop in for some drinks. My parents went there a couple times for a drink. About time for an update, the pool table needs to go, the seating you could add would bring in more revenue than a semi used pool table. At night when it gets busy they need another bartender. Putting another ice bin by the bar opening and making it a service area would speed things up considerably. Another thing is the outside little bar, use the damn thing or get rid of it. My interpretation is if the outside bar was being used the girl that's always behind the bar would lose some tips, but it's not about her it's about having good customer service. We can all understand price increases but 6-8 dollars for mixed drinks is a bit much for Surf City. Sure you might do fine during vacation season but after they leave your customer base is a lot of people that find your New York pricing a bit much for their pocketbook and will find another place to go. I've been going there for years, I get my beer and enjoy the bands but I keep to myself lest get caught up in the Island gossip. I've owned many bars and take some advice, use the outside bar it will make better customer service and would also generate more sales. Remove the pool table you'll increase your seating and increase your sales. When you have a band inside and with the pool table your place is now 1/3 the size, do the math. read more

One star too many. The service has to be the worst I've seen in my life. The bartender took everyone's order but mine, had my ID and card out, she looked right at me and skipped me(I was clearly not drunk whatsoever). The last time I checked this is a bar and not just her making her friend's drinks. The girl on one side of me got quick service(she was already wasted) and the guy on the other side waited 20 minutes for her to bring him a BEER. Very shady vibes if you don't want to be around crack heads. Also they ID at the door which is understandable for a busy night but there is no need to ID again at the bar. 2pm:Monday afternoon Spring break vacation, my family played at the park across the street. Thought it would be a fun quick get away to grab a drink with my sister to the bar for 1 drink (my mother watched the kids for 10mins) Ordered a drink for myself and my sister, bartender immediately told me she wouldn't allow debit card since it was under $10 because it's a hassle when they're busy. There were three people in the bar. She allowed the debit card but wasn't happy. Opened two separate tabs(one drink each) which I apologized and said we we're together and drinks could be under one tab. Bartender snapped back at me, told me I didn't specify and seemed to be a problem. Again, I apologized for the inconvenience. She was extremely rude. Not sure where to start. Walked in and immediately got swarmed by 2 local knuckleheads. Both were drunk beyond belief and were putting there hands on me, not aggressively but just too much for a bar. They were brothers and followed us around most of the night. I was with my wife so definately concerned. So other than that, bar is good, bartenders were great, drinks were diesel and saw a lot of normal folks checking the place out. Private bar where you have to pay a buck to join. Others very friendly, Thursday 2 dollar domestics. Definately go with a group and not alone. read more

What an experience. I went here twice. It was fun and exactly what you'd expect. In short, this is a double wide trailer that manages to squeeze in a band, a bar, a pool table, two bathrooms, and a bunch of people. I didn't have any of the mixed drinks. I drank beer instead. The selection was surprisingly large and inexpensive. (The higher-end beers cost $3.50.) Nothing is on tap -- but what can you expect in a trailer. One night I went, they had karaoke, which was fun. Captain Sax was there spittin some mean karaoke game and the best friend and I had to ditch the dead weight (the husband and boyfriend) and hang at this place Hans SOLO. Had a killer time with cheap drinks, lots of laughs and some very entertaining locals. We left the bar soon after Captain Sax left (the juke box was not really providing enough musical entertainment for our taste). An interesting place to say the least. My friends had passed this bar on the way to the beach house we were staying at. Just hearing the name intrigued us all. After a long day on the beach we decided to go out and celebrate my birthday and this sounded like the perfect place. This bar is true to it's name, It is in a single wide trailer with a large deck outside. In front of the bar is parked their trucked dubbed the "trailer trash truck". We of course had to take a picture with that one. When you walk in the first thing you notice of course is how small it is. Though it's not big they still manage to fit a pool table and a band in it. They have added a small addition in order to accommodate the bar and people can just barely fit around it. The drinks are reasonably priced. $2 PBR's and nothing too expensive. It cracked me up that the shots came in small paper cups. Truly trailer. The band was fun. I also liked looking at the ceiling tiles which people had painted up. I was curious how much it was to buy one of those. All in all this place was an experience and I would recommend it for anyone looking for something fun to do off the beach. read more

Just as the name states it's a trailer that has been converted into a bar. There are a number of negative things about this place that I could write about. But I'll keep it short and simple. There are no words in the English language to explain my contempt for this place. The fact that it is a trailer seems to magically draw attention to itself from potential patrons. After my last visit to this place I have determined that I will never go back. Two words: as advertised. The Trailer Bar is in a trailer. Upon entering, you will (assuming you go at the right time) see a trailer full of Southerners, drinking beers, playing the jukebox, and having fun. We went on a Saturday and the wait for the bar in the center of the joint was 2-3 deep. I ordered the Trailer Trash specialty drink (the far wall has a list of all the liquor they serve and their prices--I didn't see this until after I ordered, so make sure to look behind you if you want some guidance!). It was $6, served to me in a plastic cup, and tasted a little like a sex on the beach. Delicious. I could have pretty easily gotten... trashed... on it if I had kept ordering them.
