Tulameen is a great place to get away (assuming your not going on Tulameen days, where it is still great just not quiet). One of the things that makes it so great is The Trading Post which is their general store extraordinaire. Now because of this store I will never say that I camp in Tulameen, you cant camp in front of a cabin five blocks away from a general store, that's like camping in your backyard.
Okay either way, The Trading Post is like a corner store crossed with an army and navy, but on top of that they have a liquor store, fireworks (seasonal), ice cream parlour, take out window (burgers fries etc.), and a cafe. Oh right, they also have a gas station in front, I actually wish all stores were like this it makes life so much easier. I guess the real reason I'm writing this review is the cafe though. It is like walking into someones house you don't know sitting in their living room and holding them up for food. With Bon's off Broadway self serve type atmosphere it is my kind of place. Want water go get it the jug is in the cooler, coffee empty then fill it up machine is over there, need an extra napkin ... well you get the idea. I guess a lot of people would consider this poor service, I say they are wrong its the exactly the kind of homey atmosphere I love when it comes to breakfast service. The lady who's name I cant remember to save my life is super nice and cooks a mean breakfast. We usually take up a table of eight when we go and within fifteen minutes we are all eating and enjoying. If ever in Tulameen it is a must. Other than that thanks for the fireworks and ice cream and booze WOOOOOO!! I wish every store could be just like you. Two thumbs and two big toes up. read more
