I went to tire store last week because I had a screw in my tire. I spoke with Gary, the owner and asked him if he could sell me a used tire to get me til next year when I planned on replacing them all, he said sure. After my car was in the garage getting the tire put on, he came back and told me I needed to replace them all. Never purchasing tires before, I trusted him and said ok but asked how the top brand tires could be shot at 27k miles when they are rated at 60k. He said because I didn't get them rotated. I said ok and purchased 4 new ones for 1k bucks. My tires cames in so I went to get them put on today. As I was waiting, an employee came out and asked who told me I needed to replace my tires. I told him Gary. He told me there was a little wear on the front end tires but nothing that needed to be replaced. Of course Gary wasn't there today and when I asked for a refund, I was told no refunds for special order tires. I was then informed they don't align them and I would need to go to their other shop in Lancaster. However, I didn't. I took it to Goodyear in Lancaster and had a great experience doing business with them. The owner there said he could have saved me 200 had I bought the tires from him. So as far as doing ethical business, this place is the worst and I don't recommend them. As far as everything else, they don't allow you in their office. You wait for one of them to become available and then they come out. I asked if I could use there bathroom and it was truly the most disgusting bathroom I've ever seen in a business. The shop/garage is in disarray with trash and broken glass on the floor. If I could give them lower than a 1 I would. read more

HALF ASSED WORK. The last three times I have been here and paid for full service oil change they DON'T do everything that should be included. I have to tell them to check and fill air. They used water once for wiper fluid. Makes me wonder if they even replace filter. I sit in my car, so I can watch. *anyone else notice the unsatisfactory work? Called and ordered tires 1 week ahead for our horse trailer. We were told to call the day before we came in, which we did. Got there at 8am this morning and were told others ahead of us and could not leave our trailer and it would be a 3 hour wait. Worst part was the staff was RUDE RUDE RUDE!!! read more

Another bad experience with the tire store. I had eight tire brought in for dismount and remount on different wheels. Brought them home to install on the car. Nope had to go back they were directional tire so all mounted the same direction. Get the third degree well when you have it done in an accusatory tone like I didn't have it done there. I assure you I didn't mount them backwards. The last time I had new $1000 rims that they scratched while installing tires. The time before that they left the oil filler cap off the engine and oil sprayed everywhere in the engine compartment. Did they offer to clean it up? Nope so three strikes and you out. read more

I Do not remember the name of the assistant manager but he wears the glasses and works the front of the shop. Disappointed by my hometown number 1. I've always held a high opinion about this hometown owned and operated business. I knew they were good fast and cheap. I've been here before and knew how affordable they were to family and friends. In a small town word of mouth can make or break a business. My intention is to have the owner know that being overcharge for a service was appreciated. I understand my full synthetic costs more that's true. But when I asked if there were other options even if it was a blend the worker didn't listen or even bother to inform me. I would have bought it at Walmart to make it a little cheaper. And when I asked what the break down was between parts and labor he couldn't answer and the message was conveyed like he just made up a number. Over $70 for my oil change jiffy lube cost 80. Walmart is 40 (roughly) You guys were good in the past but I felt takeN Advantage of when I didn't receive a quote and they started the work before I found out the price. This is one bad experience. Absolutely the worst oil change ever did not get plug or filter properly tightened leak a quart in 4 days made a mess under the car and could of ruined the engine if I did not catch it. Very poor workmanship stay away Ok I have since returned to the tire store to have them change out the TPMS on a set of new wheels and tires. Can not even do that properly. They ended up scratching the black powder coat on the wheel when they went to break the bead on the tire. When I notified them about it reply was "oh bring it in and we will look at it but probably nothing we can do". Really how about ordering another wheel or pay to get the powder coating fixed. read more

I had my tires rotated back home yesterday, but they didn't balance them and my car was riding very rough. I'm here from out of town, so I started searching Yelp to find the nearest place to have my tires looked at. I called The Tire Store and asked if I could bring my car in to have the tires balanced. They told me there was no wait, and to come right in. When I arrived I was greeted with a smile by a polite and respectful gentleman, and was helped immediately. Everyone here was very professional and very friendly, and I was in and out in the blink of an eye. I would come here again in a heartbeat! I've had two terrible experiences at The Tire Store in two different vehicles, in regards to getting the oil changed. I will never do business them again, and I don't recommend anyone else to, either. One car I had the oil changed, which cost me $105, and they left my oil cap off. Granted, they paid to have my engine compartment steamed cleaned, but such an amateur and costly move. They offered to take care of my next $105 oil change, but there is no way in hell I will ever go back there!!! Another vehicle they didn't put enough oil in the engine and my engine blew. They used the wrong oil on my car forcing me to spend hundreds on auto repairs! Went in to get my routine oil change back in December and confidently my car started having issues around the same time. Whenever I would try driving on the freeway my car would fail to surpass 2500 RPMs. I never expected it to be the bad oil since how could they mess up something so simple as an oil change? I instead replaced some parts on my car and eventually had to take the car to a mechanic this past weekend. Mechanic said that they had used the wrong oil on my car and that it had messed up some others components on my car. Very dissapointed that they could get something so simple wrong. read more

Great service The tech`s unhooked my trailer so I could do the oil change while I DID NOT lose my place in line for the tire. Went in to get my tires balanced, I had bought the tires new from them. The man running the balance machine told me it is not a good idea to have tires balanced after the initial new tire balance, had the tires balanced anyway. I drove on the newly balanced tires and not a good balance at all! Took the tires in 7-8 thousand miles later and had them rebalanced. The guy working the balance machine said I must get them balanced every 7500 miles or you will get what my tires now had, wear from an unbalanced tire... My car is only 2 years old with good shocks etc. I had him balance the tires and first time on the freeway I could feel a vibration. I took the car to another shop, had them balanced...the car on the freeway now drove with no vibration, smooth as glass. My compaints; 1.) The balance machine either needs repairing or the person who balances tires is not trained properly. (Machine as all new machines are self calibrating. But if worn out that will not help.) 2.) They instantly blamed my lack of maintenance, (tire balancing) instead of asking me the maintenance I do on my suspension and tire balance scheduling. Probably to justify not honoring my warranty on the tires. 3.) I noticed the man putting my wheels back on was using an air gun with no torque extension to properly tighten the wheel onto the car. I asked the guy in charge that no torque extension and no torque wrench being used was a very bad thing to do for safety. He just said his workers knew how much to tighten the nuts to secure the wheel to the car! Folks, this is DANGEROUS! Wheels MUST be tightened properly onto your car or it is possible that over or under tightening the wheel onto your car could cause a huge major accident, not something you want to subject your family to needlessly! In the future if this tire store cleans up it's act I may shop from The Tire Store in Tehachapi, until then, NO! read more

the owner of this tire store is not honest I buy a battery from them I told them the battery is bad and I had napa check it out and they told the tire store the battery was bad and the tire store would not replace it. the battery was only 2 month old it was a interstate battery. They dont do alignments, as it says they do on the internet, but the owner has always helped me out (years ago i had a crappy car with a broken axle that kept on wearing and eventually popping my tire), he would sell me retreads (back when they did that, not sure if they still sell those or not) for really good deals. Usually if needed, I go to the ford dealership for any help. However, my tire pressure was low so I stopped by the tire store to get my tires aired up. Never gone there before I pulled up, rolled my window down, and waited to be helped. I sat for about thirty seconds before a worker looked to his coworker and starting talking about "they are sitting there starring." Then yells "what do you want." I looked out my window and replied "just to air up my tires." He then looked back to his coworker and began to talk about the situation. From now on I will go to my dealership or do it myself. INCOMPETENT!!! DO NOT BRING YOUR CAR TO THIS SHOP My front right tire had a slow puncture, so I took it to The Tire Store to fix. The technician tells me he can't find anything wrong. He tells me he can't find a leak, and therefore can't do anything. So I say "okay" and wait for him to put the tire back on. So what does he do? He changes the valve stem without asking me and charges me $50.00 for the privilege. Bear in mind that he did not identify the original valve as leaky. So, there I was, thinking maybe he simply took the initiative and had solved my problem. Not so! Directly after leaving The Tire Store I drove to Bakersfield from Tehachapi during which I lost 10psi from the tire he had just "fixed," whereas I'd only lost a max of 5psi per day before taking my car to The Tire Store. Which means that The Tire Store WORSENED my slow puncture! So, not about to return my car in to the folks who failed to fixed a super-simple problem, I instead took it to Firestone in Bakersfield and got the problem fixed. They told me that the valve stem The Tire Store had installed was done incorrectly, and told me the stem kit needed to be replaced, which they did for $10.00 less that The Tire Store charged me to WORSEN MY PROBLEM! Needless to say, the problem was fixed. Don't let the positive reviews for The Tire Store fool you. The staff is incompetent. You'd be better off driving the extra distance to Firestone where they not only know what they are doing, they guarantee their work. read more
