Two weeks ago I had my car in for a transmission flush, new spark plugs and oil change. Next day the vehicle was running terribly, it's missing, and the engine light keeps flashing. This whole experience has been a bad ordeal for us. We dropped it off Friday and an hour later the office staff called stating they misquoted us, didn't have the right parts and could not do the work that day. We arranged to bring the car back Tuesday leaving my wife without a car for the day. When she arrived the mechanic tried to turn her away because the office staff was out and the shop was essentially closed. The other mechanic was aware of the situation and the service was able to be done. The next day the vehicle was misfiring. We we had to go back two days in a row. My wife and I have lost many hours getting things resolved. I even paid $100.15 to replace a sensor that did not fix the problem and I can only assume wasn't bad in the first place. Finally Friday last week I demanded the original work from the previous Tuesday be reevaluated. The mechanic "discovered" cylinder 2 was misfiring instead of the random misfire he said the code reader was stating. I asked he remove it. Sure enough there was a huge crack in it. The mechanic stated it must be bad. It was replaced and I drove it ok until yesterday when it began to misfire again. Last Friday I had the car towed to Bakersfield where the shop that services the fleet of work vehicles at my work look at it. When I gave them the invoice for the work you did last Tuesday they immediately asked me why weren't the coils replaced. I stated I didn't know they needed it. They stated a vehicle with 200K miles needs new coils along with plugs. They also stated the plugs you put in were less than ideal. Next they removed the cylinder 2 plug. Again it had a huge crack. Two in a row? They stated the coil was bad causing the plug to fail and crack. They replaced the cylinder 2 coil and plug and the car no longer misfired. I would have gladly paid you for new coils and better plugs. They figured this out in minutes! I drive up and down to Bakersfield daily. I brought you a car with nothing wrong with it to do preventive maintenance and it's in worse shape and cost me more money and time than it should have. So on Today I had better plugs and new coils put in at a cost of almost $500! I think of full refund of the plug replacement portion of the first invoice and a complete refund of sensor replacement is in order. You have lost a customer read more

I just had the most unexpected outstanding experience at this garage when I went for my smog check today. Cynthia, the little receptionist, was amazing. She is masterful at juggling so many things at once. Pleasantly greeting clients, efficiently checking us in, ordering car parts, handling customer concerns, dealing with the DMV paperwork, and checking us out, all while maintaining a cheerful and welcoming attitude. We recently took in an old truck with a check engine light. The code it was giving was very vague, and they could have easily recommended some VERY costly repairs. Instead, they did a good inspection, and found that it could be fixed pretty inexpensively. The check engine light went off (as they predicted) and it passed smog with flying colors. This is the 2nd time we've taken the truck to P&N, and both times we were treated with respect, given reasonable quotes for work, and never felt like we were being taken advantage of, or that they were trying to do unnecessary work. read more

Initially brought in for an AC recharge, Had my car for over 2 weeks, one after the other a new part was needed for my ac: orifice tube, switch, compressor, fan, blend door actuator. When the mechanic took off my steering and dash he broke multiple things in the process. Broke my airbag clock spring, ignition switch, tried to return my car broken to me. I pay 1600 for my ac service only to return my car within minutes realizing something is horribly wrong. Gaslights me trying to blame me saying I broke my clock spring doing a uturn - which isn't possible mind you. They say they'll fix it for free. Next day, ignition switch is bad, they call me, I go in office lady says mechanic requested to speak with me, only to scream at me my elderly mother and my 1 year old child. I say stop yelling at us he only gets more hostile and more volatile. He points his finger in my face and say get the f**** out of here simply for asking questions. I start recording but he didn't know it. Once he notices I start recording his demeanor changed and pulled out his own phone to record me "being a Karen" and appears calm in his own video. Office lady is a complete see you next Tuesday. When I first returned my car realizing they obviously f*d up when they took my dash apart, she comes out with a clipboard saying *I broke my clock spring* I sigh and she's like "what's with the sigh" with a horrible attitude I said this is the part you expect me to pay something right. "WeLL I wAs gOnNa oFfeR iT foR fReE" storms off. As you should since YALL BROKE IT. I've never had such a horrible experience. Zero accountability. When I picked up my car my dash fell apart and the mechanic that screamed at me, I was told would be fired, is smiling stuffing his face with his lunch. My alignment is horribly off and I have to hold my steering to the left to go straight. I got my refund of 1600 only to pay 950 for parts ONLY no labor no warranty on labor for my dash to fall apart as I'm leaving and the manager Jordan basically says oh well take your car and leave. They seem perfectly comfortable keeping Manny the mechanic employed to scream at customers, women and a baby at that. Not accommodating, very disrespectful, very little care for their customers. This is coming from a customer whose family has used p&N for YEARS. never bring our business here again. They also returned my car to me full of mouse droppings. I assume was from sitting in their garage for 2 weeks. They're perfectly fine returning your car in worse shape than when you brought it to them. I'll see them in court! read more

I saw that it had great reviews and was in a good area so I was sold. I was delighted with the customer service and competence that all the staff I interacted with displayed. They did not try to up-sell me on anything and simply fixed the problem quickly with no hassle. The waiting room is clean and comfortable and I did not feel unwelcome (as I often do as a woman getting my car worked on.) As a woman, I'm always worried about auto repair shops. But.... I went to P & N for a smog check, just picked them out of the paper because it said pass or don't pay. Figured I'd give them a try as I usually use Protech, but the last few times I've smogged with them, they've come up with little things I needed to purchase... I mean how many times do you need a new gas cap? I was told I needed one two smogs in a row... and once I needed some sort of hose thing, that I never quite understood and my dad later said was not necessary. I was pleasantly surprised by the friendliness at P & N... and the place was clean with a little waiting room with coffee and such for the customers. The owner even gave me a small discount after another customer (out-of-towner) came in and very loudly tried to bargain a better price by threatening to go to another shop if he didn't get the better deal.(which was already at a very reasonable price)... I know the reputation of the other shop and I wouldn't compare the two ever. I was happy to see the young owner handled this old coot with patience and kindness. I gained a lot of respect for that young man. I wouldn't have been so nice to a vulgar loud mouth who was obviously a super cheapo trying to play games to save a couple of bucks. (literally, he saved about $5.00) I would have sent him to the other shop and laughed as he paid double for his service. I'm all for getting a bargain, but this guy was rude and obnoxious about it. The young man who owns the place said he had worked the place with his father previously. What nice employees and what great customer service! I whole-heartedly recommend them and will be using them for all my smog checks in the future. read more

I went in to have my brakes looked at after they started making noise. I was honestly stressed about it and was worried it would be extremely costly. When all was said and done, the cost was quite reasonable and the work done was exemplary. Took the car in at 8am and was out of there at 10:30am with new brakes all around. The engine on my 2003 Mercury Mountaineer blew, and I searched all around the area for the best deal(rebuilt or refurbished) and couldn't find anything for less than $4,000. I found that I could purchase a newly refurbished engine online for $1,800. I then began my search for a garage to do the job, P&N by far beat everyones prices, Rob quoted me a cost of $1,017. completely installed. I needed a new serpentine belt and the total cost to pull out the old engine and put in the new came out to be $1,034. For a total cost of $2,834. This beat the other estimates by $1,200. Once the engine arrived at their shop it only took them 7 working days to complete the job. The mountaineer has been running like a top for over a month now. No problems what so ever. Our car had a major rear axle problem after driving from Florida. P&N went above the call of duty in helping us on our way to Seattle.
