2/5 -- $16 FOR A COLD BURRITO?! Y'ALL PLAY TOO MUCH!…read more
Mannnn, Dos amigos taqueria in Redding... WHAT HAPPENED?!
First of all, let's talk about this customer service because WHEW! I don't know if they were having a bad day, didn't want to be there, or just didn't want ME there, but the energy was NOT giving hospitality!
Walked in ready to order, and I swear it felt like I was inconveniencing somebody just by being hungry! No welcoming atmosphere, no friendly interaction, just straight-up "What you want?" energy. And listen, I'm not asking for a red carpet and a mariachi band, but a little customer service wouldn't hurt!
Now, I was HELLA hungry, okay?! I was in Redding, didn't see too many options around besides McDonald's, and I figured I'd give this place a shot. Especially after seeing that 4.6-star Yelp rating! I said, "Ohhhh, this must be one of them hidden gems!"
BABYYYY, THE GEM WAS MISSING!
Now I'll give them this: Walking inside, the place definitely has that authentic Mexican restaurant feel. I was expecting some GOOD food! You know, the kind that makes you close your eyes after the first bite and thank somebody's abuelita!
Instead, I got a $16 disappointment wrapped in a tortilla!
The burrito was COLD! Not lukewarm, not pleasantly warm, just COLD! And the flavor? WHERE WAS IT?! Even the sauces couldn't save this situation because those weren't hitting either!
And for SIXTEEN DOLLARS?! Sir, ma'am, somebody's tío... PLEASE! I could've gone to Chipotle, which I ironically discovered AFTER this unfortunate dining experience!
Now, I understand everybody's taste buds are different, and maybe I just caught them on an off day. But based on MY experience, I genuinely don't understand that 4.6-star rating. I'm thinking somewhere around a 3-star average would be more realistic, and that's being generous!
Customer Service: Disappointing
Food Quality: Cold and underwhelming
Flavor: Missing in action
Value: $16 I wish I could get back!
FINAL VERDICT: 2 STARS
One star for looking authentic and another because, well... I survived the experience!
Would I return? Probably not. And that's unfortunate because I genuinely enjoy supporting local restaurants, especially places serving authentic cuisine.
But listen, authentic atmosphere means nothing if the food and customer service don't match!
I came in hungry, left disappointed, and somehow felt like my wallet got robbed by a burrito!
Dos amigos taqueria, y'all gotta do better!
Because at $16, the ONLY thing that should've been cold was my drink!
