The best tobacco shop in Utah! Incredible humidor and cigar selection! Friendly, knowledgeable staff!

Very large selection, I will be coming back and purchasing more of their in house collection.

Stopped in for the 1st time to pick up a couple Oliva Connecticut's... I was greeted with friendly smiles and willing to help me on what I was looking for. DAN and DAMION were a big help... DAN offered to show me a similar cigar I was looking for at a cheaper price after I almost went full cardiac after finding out Utah is like the 2nd highest in tobacco tax. I planned to buy two Oliva Connecticut but not for the reason of high tobacco tax in this state. Not the stores fault... it's the state of Utah. DAMION also helped me since I forgot my cutter... she did a fine job V-cutting my cigars. Thank you both for the best customer service... And awesome cigar store. Highly recommend read more

I was in the market for a cigar as a gift, but I don't really know anything about cigars. However, I have driven past the Tinder Box before, so I knew a place that could help me out. Service was friendly and helpful-the nice lady at the counter walked me through the humidor and pointed out a few options that might be good and were within my price range. I ultimately landed on a selection of apostate cigars from a Utah-based company, because I thought the recipient (from out of state) would appreciate that. She helped me package them up and gave me some pointers on how to keep them fresh between now and when I give them in a few days. The "water pillow" and putting the cigars in a zip-lock baggie would keep them from drying out, she said. In addition to cigars, there is a good amount of other gift items at the front of the store. Tarot cards, novelty jewelry, socks, beard accessories, etc. There's lots of fun things to browse and likely a gift idea or two to be found. While I may not ever take up smoking myself, I will keep this one in my back pocket in the event I need a gift in the future. read more

Today was my 21st birthday, i was recommended by a coworker to check this place out. I went in and I wish I could remember his name but the gentleman who helped me was awesome! Recommended the montecristo 1935 anniversary, I'm about halfway through it and it is amazing! Selection is more than I could ever need and pricing is good as far as I know! read more

When I went in to tender box the two lady's that was working for the smoke shop the dark haired one she was way nice she helped me find everything I needed and same she was a big help if I was to go back in that smoke shop I would cuz the ones that work there is way cool read more

While traveling in UT to see the Salt Lakes we we're running low on our cigar inventory. We looked up the Tinder and decided to go. The ones we're used to going to have quite a large selection of cigars and a huge smoking lounge. This Tinder was the opposite. It had no lounge and a smaller walk-in humidor. However, it had a nice selection of quality cigars. In fact, mostly all of the cigars were from a mid to high quality. We picked up our usual suspects, Drew Estates, Perdomo, CAO, Olivia. We always pick a brick of cigars for the everyday smoke and came across a brick of Oliva's (Flor de Oliva) which we've never seen. They were a pack of 20 for $149. I know--usually a brick of knock offs (throwaways, Factory Smokes, etc.) would be less than $100 BUT- these are exceptional for a brick. Usually you will have some in the brick that will burn fast and uneven or rolled too tight leaving you to fight with the draw and 1/4 of the brick unsmokeable. These are truly not the case. They're mild, nice draw, smooth, and consistent. We were pleasantly surprised. The owner was there and offered great suggestions that we took. The store was small but very organized and had quite a few accessories, lighters, etc. The price range for the cigars was higher than the other states we've travelled through. Not sure if the increased tobacco tax has hit UT higher than other states or not but we thought the prices were pretty high. Overall, a very nice store with a great selection. read more

I decided to give The Tinder Box another try. I have actually been in 3 more times, twice i walked in, grabbed what i wanted and checked out without anyone saying anything than my total. On the last trip in i was asked a few times if i needed anything. Then while i was in the humidor a gentleman asked if i needed any help. I said yes and he was extremely helpful. Seems as though they are doing better. Best selection and quality of cigars i have found in the valley and still able to get what i need during covid. Thank you! read more

Before I even expressed what I was interested in, Jonathan offered some great insider tips on how to better manage and maintain my windproof lighter. I was sold at that point and was grateful for the tips, as he was the first person from numerous cigar stores since I purchased it, to offer the advice and show me what to do. Great selection of smokes and varies quite a bit. He was insightful on flavors, cigar profiles, and could steer you in the right direction brand wise, based on personal preferences. And if you don't have or don't know preferences, he could still make great suggestions. They also have a monthly cigar night, where they set up an outside get together outside the front of the store, where food and drink accompany a chill smoking session. Highly recommended and look forward to returning, as well as joining one of their monthly get togethers. read more

OK, OK ... It's not just a cigar and tobacco shop. I am not a smoker anymore, but I know a good smoke shop. This is one. In the front as you enter they have a curious and lovely gift shop with unusual and funny items. I loved this place. I bout a few souvenirs here before I left. Many are Halloween themed for the upcoming day. Its crazy here. You WILL find that special stocking stuffer at this place. Funny dolls, kooky toys, wacky books, trippy candy, awesome bric-a-brac, and nutzy weido stuff. My kind of place. Come in an look around. Its worth it. Jonathon was a great help. I come in here pretty often with my husband, he loves this place. They have a large selection of pipes, cigars, tobacco, lighters, pipe cleaners, and pretty much anything else you'd need. I usually lift all the lids on the tobacco and sniff them and decided which on my husband can get. Some of them smell amazing like Queen Ann's Revenge but some of the old English style ones can smell putrid. The staff are all friendly and knowledge about on their products and have no problem chatting your ear off. There's also a good sale about once a summer where you can get a nice expensive pipe for a good price. Plus the rest of the store is full of fun trinkets. I've come in the store before just to shop for a birthday gift in the trinket selection. read more

Usually I have a good time and a good selection here but for the Kristoff cigar event they really dropped the ball. Not ready when they were supposed to be and didn't even have packages ready for the event so I could spend my money on their goods. This is why I buy online and should you. In all fairness after I posted on their Facebook page they did reply and say they were sorry for the late start and if I came down they would try to give me the discounts they offered at the event. read more

I've been going to the Tinder Box since the early 70's, when they were located inside Fashion Place Mall. It's a fun place to shop for miscellaneous gifts, even if you don't smoke. But if you do enjoy tobacco, they've got the best selection of Cigars, Pipe Tobacco, Cigarettes and Smoking Supplies in Utah. The employees are knowledgeable and very courteous. I love the Tinder Box. I could spend hours in there just looking at all the pipes and wishing there was room on my paycheck for a new one. They have a decent gift-shop section also, where the wife peruses while I talk pipes and tobacco. They have a good selection of pipes from cheap to medium priced, to expensive hand-carved pieces of art. Worth a look! read more

Don't take it for granted. Great selection in products and great prices. Should you be heading to the 4 corners area be sure to stop here first to stock up being there is no where to get your cigar or pipe tobacco fix less you wish to opt in for a dispensary smoke or the cheap tax free readily available common cigarettes. read more

This is one place I get excited about when it's time to restock the humidor. My wife on the other hand thinks I'm silly, but she knows how much I enjoy it. The staff is super friendly and helpful. A good humidor with a midrange of selection. Interesting gift ideas fill the shop...and the staff is friendly and generally quite knowledgeable. Of course the downside of any Utah tobacco shop is the tax structure that is slammed on purchases. Not the TBox's fault. read more

By far the best selection of all popular brands of cigars, giant walk in humidor that is filled with amazing sticks for any price range. Also being well versed in real briar tobacco pipes thereis nowhere better in Utah, they carry an amazing selection of bulk and tinned tobacco, pipes at every price range and the staff is fantastic.
