I booked a room for this weekend, which included July 4th. However, something came up that prevented us from being about to visit. As soon as we found out, my wife called and was told that it was no problem, that there is a waiting list, and once it is cancelled, we would get a refund. We would be charged a $35 fee, though. Having not yet received a confirmation email, my wife called again, asking about the refund. And she talked to a very rude person who said we were not getting a refund because it included a holiday. Also snapped "it is clearly written in the confirmation" several times and completely ignored the question of someone previously giving us false information. The excuse was "I am a small business and need to survive"... but rings very hollow because there is no doubt it was re-rented, in fact, she is double dipping and making twice the money. Nice little racket, if you ask me. While I did miss the holiday clause in the confirmation (which was made 35 days before the arrival date, so not much time to cancel), the fact that we were told we were getting a refund is a huge problem. If we were told the truth, we would have made arrangements to at least partially attend. And if this is the way they treat customers, I am wondering if I didn't dodge a bullet by not going. Needless to say, I will never patronize this business. read more

Without question a first class and 5 star guesthouse! Jill, the owner, is attentive and warm and has thought of every detail. Her family history of Hawaiian culture shines through in the art and overall ambiance..The grounds are beautifully maintained and a joy to explore. The exotic birds are a huge bonus. Easy walk over to the lake and trail too! Hot tub was a treat after a long day! We can't say enough about the room and how cozy and well appointed it was. The fireplace was the icing on the cake. We had a sisters' getaway here and everything was perfect! Gorgeous home with unique and wonderful artwork. Our room was lovely and we loved the balcony. "Come as guests, leave as family" We booked a little get away for a couple of days and we found a gold mine. We really did come as guests and leave as family. From the time we arrived until the time we left we felt as if we were part of the family. We loved getting to know Jill and Peter and learning about their family and the history of the house. The house was decorated so nicely and no matter where you were on the property it was very relaxing. There are 5 rooms upstairs and each one has a name and a theme. We stayed in room 4, North Nest. There is only 1 room that does not have its own private bathroom (South Siesta) all of the other rooms have private baths. Other than going out for lunch and dinner we maximized our usage of the property and its amenities. There was a nook where we enjoyed tea and fresh Timbrook honey, a common room where we enjoyed talking and watching Netflix. Outside there was a deluxe hot tub, an in ground pool, a patio with a fire pit and bird feeders, a green house, a garden, a chicken coop, a tropical aviary with 7 parrots, and 4 acres to just walk around and enjoy. The gazebo was under construction, but looked like it would be open soon. Breakfast (served between 7-9) - Both mornings we enjoyed a magnificent breakfast that was made with love and as farm fresh as it gets. The first morning we enjoyed for our first course of grilled avocados with fresh salsa. The second course was crepes with fresh fruit, chocolate shavings, maple syrup, sausage patties, coffee and juice. The second morning we enjoyed a first course of fresh fruit, yogurt and nuts. The second course was a delicious caprice omelette, candied bacon, breakfast potatoes, zucchini bread, coffee and juice. WOW! The food was so fresh and so tasty and oh so yummy! Our stay was in the middle of the week and it was nice as there was only one other couple that was staying there. We were told that the rooms are booked on weekends and its really busy. Parking was a little tight as there was some construction on the driveway and a retaining wall during our stay, but other than that there are enough spots for each of the guests to park. This was our first time at a bed and breakfast. We had such a great time that the bar for other B&B's will all be compared to this stay. I definitely recommend staying here and can't wait to come back for a future visit. read more

I was looking for a local place for a romantic getaway, and came across the Timbrook Guesthouse pretty quickly. Who knew this idyllic property was right outside of Antrim park? If you're not looking for it, you might miss it. Especially coming from the north as the bushes almost obscured the sign! There are trees surrounding the property, so once you enter, you really feel as if you've left the city! There is plenty of parking, and they are working on adding a few more overflow spots. If you really want some privacy, stay during the week like we did. There was only one other room occupied at any point during our stay. We heard they get busy on the weekends. There are five rooms available upstairs. These are designed for two, and no children are allowed. So it's a perfect place to get away. The South Siesta has a private bathroom across the hall, and all the other rooms have one inside. Each room is uniquely decorated around a particular theme. On the property, you'll find a luxurious hot tub, a relaxing pool with flotation devices available, a flower garden, the aviary housing cockatoos and macaws, several bird feeders for wild birds near the large open patio, a fire pit, and tons of green space to enjoy. There is also a gazebo under construction and almost finished! What really makes the stay unique is the hospitality and fine dining. Jill and Peter were both excellent hosts and fun to talk to. Jill whipped up some fabulous breakfasts including meat for us, despite the fact that she's a vegetarian herself. She can accommodate your dietary needs, too. The honey available at the tea station is made on site. Yes, they have bees, too! And chickens. Talk about fresh eggs! I wouldn't be surprised if more of our breakfast was home-grown, as I also recognized mint and basil out in the patio gardens. "Come as guests, leave as family" is not just a nice motto, but it is really how you'll feel if you stay at the Timbrook Guesthouse! read more

My wife and I celebrated our 13th wedding anniversary on 8/11/20. We do a trip every year for our anniversary and this year my wife decided she wanted to visit the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium. So I planned a 2-day trip and while doing my research for a place to stay on 8/11, I happened upon The Timbrook Guesthouse. I will keep the review as short as possible because I love brevity but I make no promises. Jill, the owner, is super fantastic and a 10-star host. She puts forth a Brobdingnagian effort to make sure her guests are happy. If you stay at Timbrook, you will not be able to understand how she does it. No human could possibly do all of the things Jill does everyday to keep Timbrook running like a well-oiled machine. I think she may be a robot. Timbrook itself is the kind of house we'd live in forever if we didn't have 10 fleabaggy cats who love to ruin everything and drive us crazy. The house and the property are just amazing in every way. There are a lot of fun things to do in and around Columbus but you won't wanna leave the property. The house itself and our room were incredible. Everything was super clean, comfortable and welcoming, and we loved how it was decorated. And it's so quiet. The house is so quiet. I love quiet. Did I mention it was quiet? We got to meet KoKo, an awesome bird who loves to eat large nuts. Jill fed him as we watched and it was really a treat. We also got to meet Charlie, another awesome bird who can really voice his opinion. There are also a whole bunch of chickens and who doesn't love watching chickens scamper about. BREAKFAST was so many positive adjectives, I couldn't possibly list them all. A fruit cup that was akin to Ambrosia (which, if you don't know, is the food of the gods). And a hot meal that I ate slowly and savored every morsel. My wife is a trained chef, so one can imagine the cuisine i'm used to, and this was just crazy-delicious. Our only disappointment was that we could not stay longer. My wife and I met a very nice older couple at breakfast who said they were staying all week. We were so envious. We both agreed that when we come back to Columbus, we will stay at Timbrook. We got to see Puka the cat if only briefly right before we left. Maybe next time we visit, we can get closer to pet him but he was a little spooked and being cat owners ourselves, we totally understood. Our Teddy hides under the bed whenever people he doesn't know come over our house. His sister, Ruby, hides too. But Puka is gorgeous and count yourself lucky if you get to see him. My (now) fiance and I had an incredible stay. Jill and the entire staff did an outstanding job helping organize my engagement proposal with a beautiful picnic-style charcuterie board and photographer. They truly went above and beyond with their hospitality. Aside from the successful proposal, we loved spending time around the pool and exploring their well-manicured grounds. We stayed in the Santa Fe Suite that had very unique decorations and was very comfortable. The breakfast each morning was delicious, and the location was perfect for us to easily explore Columbus for dinner each night. read more

I had the opportunity to stay here one night this week. I would definitely go again. The grounds are very beautiful. If you love flowers this is a must visit. I had the opportunity to swim in the pool and also use the hot tub. I loved that the pool offered different levels of depth. I love to tread water for exercise and most times I have to bend my legs because I'm so tall because the pool is never deep enough. This pool was able to meet my needs and I was able to tread without having to bend. I think the pool was 9 to 10 feet deep. It had ample shallow space as well. There was also stairs to get in the pool. They provided floats to fully enjoy your time in the pool. The pool and hot tub area was very relaxing to enjoy. The chairs and lounge chairs were comfortable and also provided shade for those that didn't want to be in the sun. The parrots were an added plus. I enjoyed their company. The breakfast was excellent and was served in the inviting sun room. Very beautiful! It was relaxing and peaceful. The signage was excellent. I had a great nights rest. The only thing I did not see was individual room temperature control but I didn't ask either so it could have been there I just didn't see it. The room I stayed in did not have curtains just shutters which I woke up to the brightness of the new day. But I didn't mind. It was a very peaceful room. They do provide robes and huge towels for the pool in your room which was an added plus. They provide bottled water in your room. In the snack area downstairs they had wonderful snickerdoodles. They do have a freezer and refrigerator in the snack area for guests to use. The hostess was very accommodating and helpful in everything and anything you may need. She had a kind attitude and a genuine caring for you while you were there. She was open to suggestions to making her place better. There was several rooms in the house that you could enjoy the beauty of the grounds. I would definitely come here again. read more

The house and property are absolutely stunning. I live in Columbus and coming I'm here felt like I was in a completely different state. There is a lot to do on the property and right in the area. They were super friendly and did not feel like they hovered over us. We got here and after the intro it was like it was our own home. I could honestly ditch my phone and be here everyday. The breakfast was amazing. My wife couldn't put the little fruit bowl down and the apple pancakes were mouth watering. This is an experience we will come back to because all the rooms are unique and different and so many things to do based on the season. Absolutely love it read more

This place is incredible. The grounds are immaculate. I've traveled the world over and I've never stayed at the place where the grounds were more beautiful. I'm here in early June and I'm just blown away by all the flora and how nicely the grounds are kept. In the guest house itself is gorgeous and they have thought of everything. My property borders the grounds here as I live directly to the north. I have never stayed there but would highly recommend staying here. I have known the owners since 2003 and they are great people. As I have told them, there property reminds me of a place I would vacation too and Charleston, S.C. and Savannah, Georgia always come to my mind. The beautiful landscaping, there attention to detail and continually upgrading or renovating is second to none. This place was amazing! Warm, homey and​ welcoming from the second we walked in the door. We stayed on the very top floor in the bluebird room which was beautiful and decorated immaculately. Everything was thought of down to Q-tips and makeup remover wipes in the bathroom. Breakfast was amazing and delicious and the entire house was gorgeous ! The house was beautifully restored 1875 colonial with beautiful grounds and gardens. Had it been warmer we could have used the pool and hot tub. Fresh cut flowers were placed on our night stands and at our breakfast table and every detail was attended to. I strongly recommend that you stay here if you're looking for a nice relaxing getaway in this beautiful old home. read more

We intentionally stay at B&B's when possible and finding a real jewel like The Timbrook Guesthouse is one of the joys...an "over the top" experience in a tranquil, secluded property...yet accessible and near downtown Columbus. We stayed in the East Room, the master BR of the historic home. INCREDIBLE suite with oversized soaking tub (wink, wink), large standing shower, in room fireplace, relaxing east-facing balcony to see the sunrise. Walking grounds, full pool, hot tub, gardens, all ready for a full decompression!! Wonderfully made breakfast by hosts Jill and Pete, superb hosts who made sure all was well with each guest. A great experience that makes us think of Columbus as a destination...to get back to Timbrook!!! read more

Who knew this place existed??? Disclaimer - I was not a guest at the Timbrook, but my family was while they were in town. We visited the grounds and had a wonderful breakfast there on Easter Sunday. The grounds are really beautiful. It's directly across from Antrim Park on Olentangy River Road. There's a great pool, lovely gardens, and parrots. Yes! Parrots. Also chickens. I would never have expected something so charming and to be honest, kind of magical - in Worthington. The house is cozy and the rooms are very comfortable. Breakfast was wonderful - heuvos rancheros with fresh eggs and smokey black beans. My family loved staying there and I would definitely recommend this place to anybody looking for a weekend escape! read more

Fantastic B & B! All the rooms are different and very warm & cozy. When we arrived, Jill greeted us and asked if we had any dietary restrictions, which we did not, but that was helpful if we did. A tasty Breakfast was served each day between 7-9am. Food was different each day except a wonderful fruit bowl Jill said her husband prepares. Jill accommodated us with glasses, plates, knives and napkins for our wine and cheese one night. Their property is uniquely beautiful, with a wonderful large vegetable & flower garden that I appreciated being a gardener myself. Also a cool chicken coop, an inside & outside aviary with cockatoos Jill raised from babies. This location is quiet & perfect, just across from Antrim Park, a place for a morning run, and the B & B is close to downtown Worthington. We absolutely will return once a year. We had a wonderful weekend here. The hosts were so hospitable and the guests all friendly and fun. The house is beautiful and has a great history. The decor was diverse and interesting. The house was spotless. The gardens on the property were also great and we spent some time taking it all in and watching the birds. They have a very well maintained pool and jacuzzi. We just stayed at Timbrook Guesthouse and could not be more impressed. The accommodations were delightful, and the common areas are as welcoming as any we've ever visited. Coming down to breakfast in the morning the fireplace in the common-area living room was running and adding charm to a peaceful morning. Breakfast was delicious and the coffee bar with all the fixings was like being at home, able to linger over a cup while getting ready to greet the day. We had a little couple's weekend getaway in the Columbus area and chose to stay at the Timbrook and we are so glad we did! It was such a great experience. First off, we stayed during the pandemic and felt so safe and comfortable! Everyone was socially distanced and wearing their masks. The room, common areas and grounds were very clean and well kept. The house itself is a historical treasure from the 1850s and gorgeous! We stayed in the Santa Fe room in the basement and felt like we were in a cabin surrounded by the American Southwest! The room is a spectacular gallery of Native American and American Southwest art and art forms, just amazing! We got to use the hot tub, which was therapeutic and enjoyable on a chilly October night. The pool area looked so inviting for a hot summer day. The grounds were very beautiful and dressed up for fall with pretty mums and pumpkins. The breakfast was delicious; we had waffles and sausage and it was perfect! And the all day coffee and tea bar - LOVE! We can't wait to stay here again! read more

We recently had the great pleasure of staying at The Timbrook for several days while attending my Gandpa's 100th birthday celebration in Columbus. It couldn't have been more wonderful coming home to the luxurious estate of The Timbrook each evening after the days' events. The excellent amenities and beautiful ambiance best the finest B&B and hotel experiences I have ever had. I am not joking. If you take a look around the house with everything available for you, as well as the gorgeous grounds; the pool, the jetted hot soaking spa, tropical birds in the aviary and more - they have defined excellence. The Timbrook Guesthouse has truly paid purposeful attention to every detail here. I stayed in #4 and slept the best, deep sleep that left me feeling so refreshed and ready to go each morning. And the masterful culinary attention presented on each delicious plate of breakfast you will enjoy here...it simply could not have been any better.
