Visited Columbus and OSU for the first time for a conference and stayed at Blackwell Inn as arranged by the conference team. Clean and big beds with good amenities! Staff were pretty nice and helpful. Very close to OSU main campus. I didn't have time to explore Blackwell Inn much but overall it was a solid hotel stay!

If you ever want to try a new restaurant THE BLACKWELL would be a great spot to try. Came to this restaurant for Restaurant Week 614 and I'm truly impressed! Good food, and great service I'm glad that my sister mentioned this place. 3 hours I'm still stuffed, full, and satisfied!

I was booked at the Blackwell Inn by my assistant (note to self - no bonus for her) for my weekend business trip to Columbus. Maybe I'm spoiled from traveling so much, but there are certain things I expect when I stay at a hotel that I didn't get from my stay at the Blackwell. It did seem as if the staff that had the most interaction with the patrons (doormen, front desk) were teenagers so maybe that's why the professionalism I'm accustomed to when staying at a hotel wasn't there. Who knows. Strike 1: when my colleagues and I arrived via taxi the doorman did not greet us and help us with our bags. He did however hit the handicap button so the doors would open for us. I guess we should be grateful for that act of kindness. Strike 2: check-in time is 3pm, I checked-in at 3:23pm, and was informed that my room was ready, but showing as dirty. I was asked if I wanted a different room or wanted to wait. Now, I don't know why I needed to be informed that my room was showing as dirty. All the young man who was checking me in had to do was say, "Sir, the room we had for you isn't available so I'll put you in a different room." Or he didn't have to say anything to me at all and could have just switched me to a new room. I would have never known. When I went pass the check-in desk about an hour later I heard the employee giving the same "dirty room" message to a couple checking-in and the look on the lady's face was priceless. Strike 3: When checking-in we were never informed of the services the hotel offered (i.e a free car service that you could book for drop-offs and pick-ups) or where the restaurant and gym were located. We spent about $30 on taxis before we found out we could have been requested the hotel car take us where we needed to go....I'm glad I can expense the taxi fees otherwise I would be one angry Yelper. While I focused on the negatives with my stay at the Blackwell Inn, I do want to recognize the positives i experienced. 1) My king size room was indeed spacious and the bed was extremely comfortable. 2) The breakfast at the hotel restaurant was delicious. The buffet had a good selection to choose from and even had a made to order omelette station. 3) The staff working in the restaurant was on top of their game providing excellent service.

I was told that my Honors Member rate would be booked for the full stay. At check in, the reservation I made was not even for the correct number of nights. I booked for Wednesday thru Sunday but they only had my block of rooms for Wednesday and Thursday. We were told to come down and check out and check back in the following day. When we came down in the morning to take care of this, that front desk person said we should not have had to check in and check out and move rooms even though this is what we were told upon arrival. We then find out that our rate has gone from $187 to approximately $500 a night for the remaining stay. Of course we are shocked. We went to speak to the manager and he was not willing to meet us in the middle to find a solution. He gave us a hard no and said you won't find another hotel in this area for the remaining days. We found another hotel, three rooms left and did not stay and found other accommodations. I think there were enough issues with our reservations and being told a different story depending upon who we spoke with that the hotel. It is unfortunate that they seemed to not care to loose guests and two rooms. I am truly floored by the switch and bait and also that management/staff really seemed to not be bothered. We might only be 6 guests total but they just lost customers who that will never book with this hotel chain again.

Is the food great? No, but it's freeeee so quit your complaining. Everyone likes free even if it's just kind of average. I will say, the cocktails are pretty good. And if you have kids, you can make the free food and drinks your dinner and save some serious money dining out. By the way, the hot dogs are steamed and are wonderful. Really. This place does more than hand you a room key. It creates a whole little world you actually want to live in for a few days. The lobby feels like an enormous, stylish living room... warm lighting, a fire going, comfortable seating clusters, art on the walls, and people actually hanging out instead of just passing through. Mornings start at Maudine's, the in-house coffee shop and bakery off the main floor. Great espresso drinks, genuinely good pastries, and just enough personality to make it feel like a real neighborhood spot rather than a hotel afterthought. We grabbed coffee there both mornings and it set the tone for the day. During this stay we leaned hard into the food and drink options on property. Lunch and happy hour in the lower bar were excellent... well made cocktails, shareable plates, and staff who are actually present and tuned in. Later at night we headed up to Brass Eye for a nightcap. It has that perfect rooftop energy. Big views of the city, great music volume, and a "we're happy you're here" vibe instead of a scene you have to work to impress. The suite we stay in with the oversized tub feels like it was designed specifically for us. Spacious, modern, and romantic without trying too hard. The tub is huge. The shower is generous. The bed is incredibly comfortable. There are plugs where you actually need them. The window seating area is perfect for reading, talking, or just watching the city hum outside. It is one of those rare hotel rooms that makes you want to stay in as much as you go out. What really keeps us coming back though is the way we are treated. Every interaction, from the door staff to the front desk to housekeeping, feels grounded and human. Not scripted. Not fake. Just people who seem genuinely invested in making your stay great. On a birthday trip, that kind of care lands even harder. Each visit ends up feeling more magical than the last. The Junto is stylish without being cold, polished without being stiff, and thoughtful in all the right ways. If you are coming to Columbus and want a hotel that delivers on design, food, drinks, and real hospitality... stay here. This is the one.

It was great having the hotel and the convention center being connected without having to go outside. I found the hotel in good condition with great hotel rooms, great food options, and great service. The cost was also quite reasonable both at the conference rate and general Hyatt member rate. I also used status to get some nice perks at the hotel and was pleased overall with my experience. Prior to arriving to the hotel, I used a Suite Upgrade Award to receive an upgrade from a King Room to a 1-Bedroom Suite (King). When I arrived at the resort, I inquired about a further upgrade using my Globalist status, and after confirming that there was a VIP Suite available, they were able to provide me a further upgrade even though they acknowledged that this was based on availability and that Globalists typically only receive upgrades to standard suites. I really appreciate the flexibility the hotel provided at that time! I ate breakfast each day at the Market Stand restaurant where they had a buffet during the weekend and items could be ordered from the menu on other days (including the weekend). I also ordered drinks and dinner one night at the Big Bar on 2, which also hosted several receptions and socials during the time I was at the hotel. I also received two cards each good for a free appetizer and free non-alcoholic drink, which I used on the last day of my stay. Again, great service and tasty food and drinks. The housekeeping service was good even though I sometimes needed to inquire at the front desk about daily bottles of water. The room was in good condition with the exception of ants that were appearing from no where (and that I didn't drag in with me). They were only noticed on the last day and were in the corner of the bathroom and kitchenette. Otherwise, the suite was large and very spacious! They also brought me a birthday pie/cake since they knew I was celebrating. Otherwise, everything was top notch. If you are staying at a Hyatt Regency and have Globalist status for staying 60 nights at a Hyatt over the year, you can get bonus point accrual, early check-in, late check-out, upgrades at check-in based on available (to suites), free breakfast in the hotel restaurant (in this case the buffet at the Springhouse Cafe), elite check-in, and free parking (if booked on points) among other benefits. There are also occasional challenges where if you stay 20 nights in 90 days, you can get Globalist benefits for the next year. If I am traveling back to Downtown Columbus in the future, I'll certainly plan on staying here again. I certainly recommend it!

It looks like you can pay to park but the church reserves the lot for Sundays so you WILL GET TOWED if your car is in there overnight. We didn't realize it said 3am, not 3pm, so both our car and my father in-law's car got towed. Luckily the tow lot is just .9miles down the street so just a walk away. I guess we'll just valet and stay in the hotel parking lot next time, would be worth it. Cute rooms! Very nice, clean, tidy, well laid out with lots of little amenities throughout for how compact the room is. Big bathroom, which is nice!!! LOTS of outsets and USB outlets for charging. Definitely no view in the room we had though. We could just see the cement ceiling part of whatever hotel structure is below us. They could possibly put some decor or something low maintenance out there just for some sort of view. The room coffee was decent! I appreciated the two creamers included, some hotels don't include any creamer, which it at that point the coffee is pointless to me. Luckiy my fiance drinks his black so I was able to use the creamers. I appreciated this little detail. I also do like the full size shampoo/conditioner/body wash in the rooms, as sometimes those tiny little things don't even have enough in one for my hair alone let alone anyone else that is staying with me. We had these rooms on points so value for the price I'm honestly not sure. But I definitey wasn't dissappointed by any means!
