We are here for a convention. Overall, things are good. Check in was easy and the room was clean and comfortable. It is connected to the convention center which is very nice. The only negative is parking. The parking is a bit of a walk from the hotel. They offer valet parking for about twice the cost of the normal parking costs. We did the valet for the convenience but that added almost 200 dollars for our 4 day stay. They are full service hotel so bring some cash for tips. read more

I had a wonderful stay at the Hyatt Regency. The rooms were spacious, clean, and extremely comfortable, making it easy to relax after a long day. One of my favorite features was the large bar on the second level, which provided a great atmosphere to unwind, enjoy a drink, and socialize. The hotel also does an excellent job with convenience. Having a microwave located near the elevator on every floor was a thoughtful touch that made reheating food quick and easy without needing to leave the floor. Between the comfortable accommodations, excellent amenities, and convenient layout, the Hyatt Regency provided a fantastic guest experience. I would gladly stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area. read more

I recently returned from a conference that was hosted in Columbus, Ohio, and with most of the conference being in the Convention Center downtown, it only made sense for the Hyatt Regency Columbus being one of the two conference hotels. It was great having the hotel and the convention center being connected without having to go outside. I found the hotel in good condition with great hotel rooms, great food options, and great service. The cost was also quite reasonable both at the conference rate and general Hyatt member rate. I also used status to get some nice perks at the hotel and was pleased overall with my experience. Prior to arriving to the hotel, I used a Suite Upgrade Award to receive an upgrade from a King Room to a 1-Bedroom Suite (King). When I arrived at the resort, I inquired about a further upgrade using my Globalist status, and after confirming that there was a VIP Suite available, they were able to provide me a further upgrade even though they acknowledged that this was based on availability and that Globalists typically only receive upgrades to standard suites. I really appreciate the flexibility the hotel provided at that time! I ate breakfast each day at the Market Stand restaurant where they had a buffet during the weekend and items could be ordered from the menu on other days (including the weekend). I also ordered drinks and dinner one night at the Big Bar on 2, which also hosted several receptions and socials during the time I was at the hotel. I also received two cards each good for a free appetizer and free non-alcoholic drink, which I used on the last day of my stay. Again, great service and tasty food and drinks. The housekeeping service was good even though I sometimes needed to inquire at the front desk about daily bottles of water. The room was in good condition with the exception of ants that were appearing from no where (and that I didn't drag in with me). They were only noticed on the last day and were in the corner of the bathroom and kitchenette. Otherwise, the suite was large and very spacious! They also brought me a birthday pie/cake since they knew I was celebrating. Otherwise, everything was top notch. If you are staying at a Hyatt Regency and have Globalist status for staying 60 nights at a Hyatt over the year, you can get bonus point accrual, early check-in, late check-out, upgrades at check-in based on available (to suites), free breakfast in the hotel restaurant (in this case the buffet at the Springhouse Cafe), elite check-in, and free parking (if booked on points) among other benefits. There are also occasional challenges where if you stay 20 nights in 90 days, you can get Globalist benefits for the next year. If I am traveling back to Downtown Columbus in the future, I'll certainly plan on staying here again. I certainly recommend it! read more

First time to Columbus and we truly enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The location in the Arena district and that it is attached to the convention center makes it perfect for events (we were just on vacation). Parking is either valet, or you can park in the secure parking structure across the street and use the skywalk to access the hotel, although it is quite a walk! We were able to walk around easily, and getting to the Short North Arts district, German Village, etc... were a breeze. The staff were top notch in their friendly service and helpfulness throughout our stay. Nice room they upgraded us to as it was our anniversary. THANK YOU! This hotel has everything you need. A great lobby with plenty of seating, if you are needing a hang out space. A fun bar area playing whatever sport you would like to watch (even project it on the wall!). And a large restaurant to eat at. We were there for a volleyball tournament, but there was also a dance competition and conference at the same time, so you may have to wait for the elevator first thing in the morning. But customer service was great, and you can't beat being attached to the Columbus Convention center. Even self parking you would not have to walk outside if the weather was cold. read more

This is an incredibly convenient hotel with direct, indoor access to the convention center and also very close to Nationwide Arena where the Blue Jackets play hockey. Check-in was fast, the gentleman at the counter gracious and friendly. My room was nice, small but still adequate. The bedroom had a king bed flanked by nightstands. A mini fridge (very mini) was in a cabinet beneath a safe and coffee pot. The wall also had a desk with drawers. There were lots of plugs for charging devices. There was only one chair in the room, which made bringing meals there somewhat uncomfortable but workable. The bathroom was especially small, with minimal counter space, though a shelf below gave a space to stash toiletries. The shower was easy to operate with great water pressure. Pump units on the wall dispensed shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. The toilet functioned well; the brown bamboo fiber toilet paper was unusual but not bad. The room was on the 10th floor and fairly quiet but for infrequent sirens and passing trains in the tunnel down below. The hall noise usually didn't carry inside. The room and the hotel itself were very well maintained, perhaps remodeled recently. As for the general facilities, there were four elevators and they worked fast. It never took long to get around. The convention facilities were not hard to find thanks to abundant signs; the direct access was from the second floor. I really liked that a food court was close by indoors, and North Market was just outside and a few blocks away. I would definitely stay here again. read more

I got booked to stay here for a conference. This hotel has been here for quite some time. Although they have updated the rooms, there are still some areas that look tired. That being said, I know the Hyatt does a ton of business, so keeping everything looking as good as it does, is no small task. This place is better that some, but a bit behind the curve to some as well. read more

A downtown hotel that's attached to the Convention Center by Skywalks. Expect a lot of walking and lots of people staying for convention events. This is probably not the hotel you want for a quiet, easy-parking, minimal-walking experience, but it's a great spot if you're here for the convention or enjoy the bustle of people. PROS: -Shower heat was deliciously warm. Even being on the top floor in a packed-full hotel, there was no issue with water temperature. I love a hot shower. -Room was surprisingly spacious and clean. It didn't feel cramped for being downtown. -Literally attached to the convention center via Skywalks. However, the Skywalks are not entirely climate controlled, and in winter, you definitely will want long sleeves or a coat to walk through the skywalks. It's also a bit of a labarinth, and you should expect to feel semi-lost while navigating it. It reminds me a lot of Chicago convention center skywalks. -With as packed as the hotel was and with as many rooms as it has, the four-elevator system managed to keep traffic moving. CONS: -Shower pressure was a little light. In the scheme of things, that's pretty minor. -This is a convention hotel. Your experience with noise will really depend on what conventions are going on. You can definitely hear people in the rooms next door (and in the hallways) from your own room, but whether that will be an issue will depend on who is all staying at the hotel. We didn't have much problem with it, but with a different crowd, I could definitely see it being an issue. -The hotel's parking garage is really, really far away from the hotel. If you have a lot of luggage, pull up to the front, check-in, and unload and THEN park your car. It's easily a 10-minute walk through some narrow-ish corridors and escalators. (My Fitbit put it at 980 steps one-way.) If you're really bogged down with luggage that's hard to carry, you're going to hate yourself by the end. read more

Stayed here for two nights for Ohayocon. The rooms were clean, although the shower curtain could've used a wash so don't think they get washed very often. No bed bugs thankfully (I check in every hotel). Did not try the big flat screen tv, but it was there. The room had a mini fridge, safe, and coffee pot tucked into the side of the room with free coffee and tea plus supplies. Sink was in the bathroom itself, which I personally prefer rather than the kind with the sink outside the door. The beds have motion sensor lights along the bottom with no way to turn them off so I used some masking tape to cover the sensor. It's not restful to get woken up by a light shining in your face because someone stood up to go to the bathroom. I really liked that the showers had big bottle dispensers on the wall for body wash/shampoo/conditioner. Way less wasteful than tiny bottles thrown out after every guest and no running out. The toilet paper was also bamboo! If you use the Chestnut st garage to park in then it's $22 per day to park there so expensive, but unlimited in/out privileges. The hotel is attached to the convention center so walking indoors. Be warned it is a long cold walk through skywalks and walkways from the garage to the hotel though. The con center has a food court and tons of great food places are just outside an short walk away. Elevators are fast and there are stairs plus a fitness center if inclined to use. read more

Stayed here for a night two weekends ago. We had a beautiful view of the city from the top floor. The room was clean and I did not notice any issues. The staff was friendly although I did not have too much interaction with them. There were plenty of bars and restaurants within walking distance of the hotel. My husband and I loved our stay here for my birthday. The hotel had a clean and inviting atmosphere. Our room was the perfect size with nice amenities. In addition to the celebratory champagne and fruit, the hotel staff included a card with their signatures. It was so thoughtful! The bartenders were also friendly and made sure we had a great time. The hotel is near several bars and restaurants. We enjoyed our short walk to Mikey's after everything else had closed. We stayed at the hotel from Wednesday May 22 to Sunday May 26, 2024. When making the reservations we asked for an early check in and was told no problem, we also asked not to be placed by the elevator. We reserved a Deluxe King room at $310.40 a night. When we arrived we were told that it would be around 12:30 before we were able to get our room. We waited around until 12:30 but our room wasn't ready, in fact we didn't get our room until 3:30 and the room was right next to the elevator. The room was nice and quiet and the view was pretty. Be prepared to pay $22 a night to park your car, or $40 for valet parking. If you choose to park your car yourself, you will need to walk a couple of blocks back to the hotel from the parking lot which could be kind of scary at night. Also, the food at the hotel is HORRIBLE, so do not waste your money. There are plenty of great places to eat within 5 miles of the hotel. Next visit to Columbus we will NOT be staying at the Hyatt Regency Columbus read more

Having been to Columbus a multitude of times you would think that I would have more reviews for hotels. But when you find a good hotel and have consistent quality service you rarely stray. However, my most recent visit I found that my old reliable was fully booked and not wanting to look much further than where I am use to staying I decided to give the Hyatt a chance. Believe me I was a bit leery about trying this place, but after this stay I know I have another great hotel at my disposal if I cannot find shelter elsewhere. One of the great thing about Hyatt is its location. If you are in need of staying close to the convention center, Arena District, Downtown or Short North, this will certainly do. Everything is within walking distance. Parking is available on site via valet, but if you want to save a few extra bucks there are several parking garages nearby that are much cheaper to use. Another great thing is that this is directly connected to the convention center. You have access to the food court and convenience store right off the lobby. This is a great asset in case you may have forgotten an essential item at home. Check in/out is a breeze and the staff that work the front desk/lobby area are all very helpful and polite. No matter the situation they seem to have the solution for you. The room itself was comfortable. The front desk staff was worried that we wouldn't like our view and asked if we wanted to move to a room with a better view. Honestly, we weren't worried about our view, we were here to visit the city, not stare at the skyline. Your basic amenities were available. The only downside here, and this in minor, is the lighting in the bathroom. If you are taking a shower and have the shower curtain closed, it is rather dark. I know, you really shouldn't need much light in the shower to do your thing, but I'd prefer to see exactly what I am doing. I travel for work and have stayed at many hotels all across the country. I'm also Globalist with Hyatt. I stayed at this one over the weekend while visiting some friends. The Good: 1. Employees were good about wearing masks 2. The breakfast buffet was quite decent. Bacon was nice and crispy. 3. Employees were all friendly 4. Room was clean The Bad: 1. Walls are paper thin. We could clearly hear the room next door having a normal conversation at 1 am. Makes sleeping very hard. 2. Rooms are dated and need an upgrade. Layout is also weird - our bed did not face the TV. 3. Parking sucks. It's a full block away and no covered connection exists. It's also $20 a day unless you are globalist staying on points 4. Breakfast buffet is overpriced at $18. Free for globalist but would suck otherwise. 5. This is right next to the convention center so expect a lot of pre-teens and teenage girls there for cheer and dance competitions. The room next door to us was several teenagers and was quite loud. All in all, I would not stay here again. read more

Not sure why this place has bad reviews . I Honestly enjoyed my stay here . The front desk people are all so nice and they are very accommodating as well . The rooms: very spacious and clean . Not sure I needed that much space haha ... but definitely enjoyed it . I put my privacy on usually everyday just because I don't like people going into my room when I'm not there . So when I came back to my hotel room one day, they put a bag full of toiletries and towels outside my room which I thought was really awesome ! This is the first time a hotel has done that for me without me asking ! So props to them . The only downside of the room is 1. My coffee machine did not work 2. My iron was not working either :( Bar: there's a huge bar area on the second floor . I ordered a burger and man was it good ! I ordered the panna cotta... Do NOT order it ... it was horrible unfortunately . But besides that my bartenders were awesome ... and they go out of their way to talk to you,l and care about your service . Props to the service there !! Breakfast: I think this is where I took off a star . I called room service twice ... and nobody answered ! I was in a rush so I really did not have time to keep playing mouse and cat all day . BUT I did however go to the market cafe for breakfast instead and got great service :) food was good too . Good portions ! I got the all American breakfast ... excellent !! The gym/pool: I didn't use the pool but it looked decent . They also make sure there is a towel everywhere lol The gym was pretty good for a hotel gym . They have cold towels too ! Good cable machine and weights and lots of cardio equipment . Overall this is a great hotel and if your looking for luxury ... I mean I guess you could stay at the Hilton for much more money a day . Parking was the problem, from what I understand there was parking for the hotel but it was quite a walk from parking to the hotel and at check in we weren't informed of the hotel parking. We had our convention's Masquerade ball here in the ball room. The room was set up nicely so that out near the elevators and escalators was the ante room so that people could chat and inside was where the festivities were taking place. The DJ was playing the music loud and the tunes were fun. There was dancing and some food, but sadly the food wasn't enough and it ran out, but we had plates. The water was a nice touch. All in all, the hotel did a nice job hosting us. I really did like that the one bar decorated for us. read more

This doesn't feel like a Hyatt. I would probably only stay here again if I was attending a conference at the convention center which is attached to the building. My first concern was that when I arrived and tried to retrieve my room key through the World of Hyatt line (the elite member check-in area), I had to wait a pretty long time despite the fact that there were front desk staff chatting with one another but not helping guests. If they were tied up with something work-relayed, fine, but an acknowledgement or apology for the long wait goes a long way. The next issue arose when I arrived to my room and it smelled like mold. I couldn't determine if it was moldy carpet or an old air conditioner filter but it still was unbearable. I was quickly moved to another room but still...yikes. Also, the elevators were extremely slow. Painfully slow. Really concerning for a hotel with 18 floors. On the positive side, housekeeping did a great job as did room service. Breakfast at the Market Place wasn't great but Perks Coffee (serving Starbucks) did the trick. The bed was pretty comfortable but the linens felt a bit scratchy and dry. Lastly, Valet was efficient but always a little crowded and tight; they weren't the friendliest folks either. Basically, this wouldn't be my first choice in the future. Hopefully they'll invest in a few upgrades and renovations. read more

Great central location. Within half mile of most of Columbus' downtown attractions including Nationwide Arena, North Market and Short North district. I had no safety concerns walking around during the evening. I booked through Hotwire for a rate of about $90 per night. I was mostly satisfied with my stay.The room was well maintained and furnishings were up to date. The lady at the desk was nice enough to ask us if we had a floor preference. She put us on the 17th floor which had a nice view of the downtown skyline. Overall, not a bad option if you want to explore downtown Columbus and the Short North district. Despite having a dated appearance on the outside and in the lobby, the rooms are actually pretty nice. I had no issues with noise. If anything it was almost too quiet! Parking is a bit of a nuisance. If you choose to valet your car, it's $25 for unlimited in and out access. If you want to park yourself, there are multiple lots available within 5-10 minutes walk that cost up to $20 per day. Valet may be the easier choice. Another downer is that you have to pay for internet access. read more

We visited Columbus this weekend to catch the first round of the NCAA men's games at Nationwide Arena. The Hyatt is very close to the arena which made things extremely easy for us. We valet parked for the night and were easily able to walk wherever we wanted to go. The hotel was clean, team members were very friendly and helpful and our room was super comfortable. Also very quiet which was surprising given that there was 100% occupancy with basketball fans everywhere. We would definitely stay at the Hyatt if we have reason to visit Columbus again. read more

I've stayed at this hotel several times while attending an annual conference at the Convention Center. Always very nice and clean. Staff is friendly and helpful. The bar on the second floor is convenient and great for winding down at the end of the day. I like having a room that faces the city so I can just sit and watch the outside activity. (I'm from a rural area :) ). This year though, I wasn't too impressed with the bathroom in my room. I don't know if they are renovating or not, but it seems I was in an older room. I don't like bathrooms that don't have countertops for all my gurrrllll stuff. It's a must! (Am I right?!) It had some skinny glass shelves on the wall and a wire tiered basket unit for essentials.....but doesn't cut it for me. That's the only beef I have for this hotel, and hopefully it is just a temporary one. read more

I had a very good experience staying here for a wedding earlier this year. The hotel seemed to be moderately full despite Covid, with some sort of youth sports program going on in addition to the large number of wedding guests. The front desk folks were very helpful, and I'm pretty sure gave me a nicer room than I had reserved. The room was very comfortable -- oddly shaped because it was on a corner or a curve or something, so it was narrow and long with a lot of windows, but the views were nice and the bed was comfy. There was a surprisingly great gym, which you could access by reserving time with he front desk and getting the key. Breakfast options were pretty weak inside the hotel, likely due to Covid, but the location is great, walking distance to a lot of fun areas including restaurants and coffee. It did seem like they don't have enough elevators, since the wait for one could be long and they were often crowded already. I would definitely stay again, however. read more

NICE hotel ! First impression: Very nice lobby, quit check in, green apples and water readily available. The room: I loved all the little amenities the most, for example Starbucks coffee, Tazo tea, refrigerator, and toiletries(shampoo + conditioner + lotion). I had a great view from the 15th floor and would recommend sipping a cup of coffee and enjoying the view ! The bed was extremely comfortable and I loved that the temperature unit in the room was quite. Lastly, this hotel has a pool, gym, jacuzzi, and shuttle van if anyone is interested in that. Overall, I really have enjoyed my stay at this particular Hyatt, checking in was a breeze, room is clean, has great amenities such as Starbucks coffee, Tazo tea, refrigerator, and a comfy bed. Meh is the word that sums up how I felt about this place. Stayed here 1 night after driving up from Cincinnati for an event at the arena. I took issue before we even got inside because parking here SUCKS. It seems there's no dedicated garage for the Hyatt and if you aren't from here, it can get really confusing really fast. We pulled up to a garage but then the cop who was directing traffic told us the hotel parking was in another place. Not true. We parked in the garage and it was a bit of a walk to get to the hotel elevators. Better signage is needed. We stayed on the 19th floor with a decent view but I don't think it was the arena side. Our room was ok. Bed seemed a little small for a king. Bathroom walls could use an update, everything seemed real dated. The water pressure was poor. There are a lot of food options inside the building, and there's even a food court that seems to be open when there's a convention in the building. I liked that there was a Starbucks just outside of the hotel inside of the convention center. Unfortunately, there was a cheer competition in and all the girls wanted a Frappuccino so I had to skip my morning coffee. It just didn't feel like a Hyatt. I think the name carries a certain expectation and this one fell real REAL flat. You're basically paying for convenience. read more

Hyatt Columbus It was dark and our flight was delayed, but finally landed in Columbus. Now had to drive our rental car in the dark downtown following directions on my phone. I had to make a strange turn off the highway to get on the wrong street, but I have been here before a few years ago so kind of knew where I was going. I found Nationwide Blvd. so I knew I was close. I looked up to see the ultra modern building and turned in into to valet parking avoiding hitting the cab drivers. The valet drop off area is a really small circular driveway and had to park it facing the front doors. It too me over 5 minutes to have someone show up to tell them we are checking in. Handed over my car keys we walked in through a large crowd of guys. They seemed very friendly. The lobby interior is rather plain and white. I used the Hyatt app to check in via but still had to talk to registration which was fine with me since no one else was checking in. Ready to go up to the 18th floor and ended up waiting 15+ minutes for an elevator for a bunch of guys trying to go up and seems like only two elevators were working. I entered my room and it was nice with single king bed, mini fridge for drinks, flat screen, and mini bar. I had a view of the arena district. The rest of the hotel which is attached to the convention center has a convenient store, Ohio St store, and coffee shop. Under the lobby you will find the indoor pool (heated) and workout facility. After three nights my only complaints is the valet parking, long waits for an elevator, hard bed with a mattress cover that felt hot at night and some towels were old and not soft anymore. We did have a great view and everything worked in the room. Those facing Texas arena district will have to deal with bright lights from the video screen near Nationwide Arena so either close your shades or eyes very well, or request another room on the other side of building. Make sure to call the valet before going downstairs else you will be waiting over 10 minutes. This hotel is connected to the convention center and other hotels. It is also walking distance to Nationwide Arena, Huntington Park, and North Market. There is a store in the convention center entrance that sells Ohio St merchandise and another that sells drinks and junk. The vending machines on each floor only take credit cards. A small indoor pool is below the lobby and a fitness center too. There is even a private courtyard area to work on your tan. Above the lobby is the bar and meeting rooms. This hotel probably needs a makeover to be more modern and updated otherwise it is located at a great location and had a good stay. read more

I have always had great experiences at this location over the years while attending conferences in Columbus. The staff has alway been extremely accommodating and very professional. The location is great as you are just walking distance from the arena district with several great place to eat available and the North Market to explore. Also on the second floor is the restaurant that offers a delicious breakfast buffet (additional cost) and omelette chef! We stayed here because we had a free Hyatt award night that was set to expire, so it was very convenient. Overall I think 3 stars is a pretty accurate rating for this hotel. As I sit here with the rain pouring in the TV cuts out ‍ . The room isn't super dated or anything, it's just kind of average. Location is good but if you're in the downtown or short north area I'd argue it's hard to truly have a bad location. The front desk staff were friendly and helpful. You can think of this hotel as more of your business-trip type hotel or maybe it's the closest you could find to the Arena District. It's not a far walk to Short North, or to any of the activities or restaurants in the downtown area. As long as the price is right, well, it's alright. read more

Nowhere to get your own water, so you have to pay or use tap. Valet takes forever to get your car. "City view" shows a cement building. Overly expensive for below average service. read more

Generally, a very nice hotel. I stayed here for a conference, and staff were very friendly and helpful. Customer service follow-up to a question, though, was nonexistent. I was billed incorrectly for valet parking, so I emailed them twice, and have yet to receive a response--not even an acknowledgment to my email. Won't be staying here again. read more
