Yelp review: "I have…read morerecently been coming to the venue. Really enjoying the music and food. Til I was recently there for the KRS-ONE show and lecture. Great time. Thanks to Keano for the hospitality and laughs. But I noticed that during the lecture, the topics KRS-ONE was talking about was playing out right in front of my eyes. I had seen Keano working security and bar-backing. He wasn't allowed to take food or drink orders, and when I asked why, he said he wasn't "qualified". He seemed to be the only person running food back and forth and other things constantly. The server I didn't even get her name but it was one time the tall blonde girl, and another time was the short light skinned girl. They both didn't seem to want to be working at all. Every time I went there, the servers were just bad. The girl Mya was amazing and friendly. The other 2 both times were very dismissive and rude. Both girls got my order wrong. One time the blonde just didn't bring my food and when confronted she had an attitude towards me like it was my mistake. Luckily Keano came and apologized for their mistakes. It's unfortunate that this place has 1 guy who seems to be doing more work than the rest, but is considered "unqualified" to take orders. The amount of time I've seen both servers waste just standing there or being on their phone while watching others working hard, is the exact example of what the lecture was about. I hope Keano gets compensated properly, and the other 2 girls either gets trained better on how to do their job and come to work with a better attitude, or management needs to find better people. Such a shame for an amazing place to be operating with poor staff and management. They are losing so much money with the people they have as "qualified". Keano was the best for showing us welcome and he made sure we had a great time Thank you

Even had thoughtful, rustic party favors too. Parked across Lincoln, was easy peezy to walk over too. Moody, elegant, intimate cozy, coastal bar vibes. Never knew this was here all these years in Venice! Now we know. Something a lil different than the abbot Kinney tourist fare, or oceanfront dive bar variety. May return shortly and try the Saturday brunch bc why not? Right. We Always enjoy food with live music and the beach nearby. It really doesn't get any better than that, esp in this LA Heatwave. Here's to many more years and more Venice Beach history. Now off we go to an evening of Art Crawl heehe.

Got a nice couch facing the band where my wife and I had a great time. But those few heads very quickly turned into a full house. A funny side note, the drummer was a young dude and his band mates were easily in their 50s and 60s. The music for the night was a New Orleans style. Nice thing is there were no hoodrats in the place. All decent good people there to enjoy good drinks and good music. Rick, the bartender, makes a great margarita.

They've done a nice job of turning this into a hangout you can enjoy anytime. It still has the vaulted ceiling and wood beams of a nautical-themed building, but the decor has been darkened into a Speakeasy feel, with muted colors and subtle lighting. Went to their New Year's Eve party, which featured a live band and a burlesque show. Seems like they transformed the space a bit for NYE, with cabaret tables and such, which is different than other descriptions, but worked well for the type of evening. Food was not being served during the NYE event, so we ate downstairs at Killer Shrimp first (separate review). Staff up in the Yacht Club Speakeasy was friendly and welcoming, and the bar was nicely stocked, though they only had large, plastic cups (20oz college kegger size), and all drinks were served in them, which was a bit of a contrast to the supposedly upscale NYE vibe. No matter, this is a very minor point. The dance floor is ample, and the live band was very good. The band was primarily playing older rock and American songbook standards rather than contemporary tracks, again because the crowd was mostly on the older side; different, I assume, from the regular crowd. I'm excited to come back and see what the vibe is like on a regular night.

First, Max, the manager, and Zoe at Guest Services were both incredibly helpful and kind. They exchanged my tickets without making me forfeit the service/ticketing fees, which I greatly appreciated. Additionally, my girlfriend accidentally tripped and spilled her wine, and the bartender immediately refilled her glass with no questions asked. That level of customer service really stood out. The theater seats were also extremely comfortable, and the popcorn was great! Unfortunately, my experience with Fandango itself was very frustrating. It was extremely important for me to see "Obsession" on opening weekend because my son, Grayson, was the First AD on the film, and his producing partner and best friend from film school, Hayley, was the Line Producer. I believed I had purchased three advance tickets for "Obsession," but when I went to retrieve the tickets from my email, I discovered I had somehow been issued tickets for "Is God Is," which started only 15 minutes later. When I tried to resolve the issue through Fandango customer service, the process was very time-consuming. Even though all of the purchase information should already have been available in their system, I was required to repeatedly provide details including the theater name, movie title, showtime, and purchase amount before I could even speak to a live representative. The representative eventually offered to refund the three incorrect tickets, but stated it could take approximately 14 days for the refund to appear in my account. While I understand processing delays happen, I was disappointed that Fandango would not refund the service/ticketing fees associated with the mistaken purchase. I truly appreciated the professionalism and kindness of the theater staff, who helped salvage the evening despite the issues caused by Fandango.

Look for parking on P2 near the SE corner, walk up six steps and hang a left after the restaurant (Namoo KBBQ). Free parking but most spots are compact and it's narrow in general. Wear layers bc it can get cold. Also in the theater, there's some sound bleed and a lot of ambient light from the giant dine in call buttons (can those be dimmed?). I wear earplugs but that's me and my tinnitus, although the music does seem loud. If everyone reclines, you may have a clear view of the screen from any seat!

I have motion sickness and Ican not ride 3D/4D rides without feeling queezy. I can not watch the classic Star Wars movie because it was too shaky for me. Hell, (spoilers) i didnt even know they blew up the death star because i couldnt watch the ending of the first movie! I can't do Star Tours, soaring over the world/california, spinning rides, playing first person shooter (fps) games...get the picture? I had to try this for myself to say if I truly can or can not do VR. There are "moving" elements in this VR game that can cause motion sickness. Standing still as your surroundings move is a major part of this very immersing game! You will also be going "up/down" ramps on a flat service, so that will throw off your equilibrium. Defying virtual physics is what Dennis explained. I had my ways to gain back my center and refocus as I was playing this game. If you wear glasses, please bring them, it will help! I thought I had mine, but I forgot it. The staff will help you get calibrated with the equipment and send you on your way. At one point, my vr set started to get blurry so I had a hard time seeing the enemies, but they were big enough to see when they're "five feet" in front of you, lol. It also got blurry because sweat was starting to form around my eyes. This is going to be a very lengthy review. First off, parking is a little confusing if you're not from the area. I had to circle three times to park on the same side as this venue. There is a parking structure on the opposite side of the street. All structures give you 90 minutes free without the need of validation. Then, it can go up to $25 for the maximum structure price. The venue is like the TARDIS. It's bigger on the inside, haha. The door remains locked, but they have a ring doorbell that contains a phone number to call for someone to come open the door for you. Talk about a personal greeting! When you first walk in, you have a set of stairs. They also have a handicap lift, so they are ADA compliant! Kudos! They have a row of stationery equipment that allows you to run/walk in place and turn. They also have a two-seater ride. They have 5 seatbelts that will strap you in for safety. One for each shoulder, one for your lap, and one each for your feet. They also have an overhead bar that you pull down as if youre actually on a Rollercoaster. If you ride the Rollercoaster one, you will get sick. You will experience the motion, but you won't get the effect (wind/air) of a moving vehicle. They have a wall of lights set as an aquarium as a little seated waiting area. They suggest optimum fun and experience, 6 to 8 people in your party. That is also how many guests can play in each area. They have two areas that are meant for 8 players, their pvp area and their main floor. Get this! They have an escape room, max is 6 players! I definitely want to come back and try this one! Another area is family friendly and is great for up to 6 people as well. Dennis explained to us that the reason this place has the word "World" in this establishment is because these rooms came from all over the place! I think he said the family friendly room was from china/taiwan/japan...etc.. so that's pretty cool! They have a little area where you can host a party, but it's not secluded, it's open to the public. This venue is open to the public and walk-ins are good, but you may have to wait. Dennis mentioned some guest had to wait 2-3 hours until their turn. The guest did leave a deposit to ensure their spot in line. So they suggest to book online to set up a reservation. Each gaming area is about a 30 minute session. You will sweat because you will be moving a lot. It is a workout! Only one sad note, I wish there was more air flow in the building. Because I have motion sickness, I needed fresh air to cool me down. This was a fun experience and I do intend on coming back!
