Ms. Aida seriously needs to check herself before speaking to customers. The way she talks is unprofessional and completely unacceptable. If you're going to sit there chatting with your friends while performing a service, at least learn some work ethic. Customers should not have to listen to inappropriate comments or be subjected to your side conversations while paying for a service. The attitude and animosity were out of control. The entire experience had a hostile, negative vibe from start to finish. And honestly, for the level of professionalism displayed, the price should be lower. Don't even bother going here.. Aida is super rude and condescending. I thought it was just me but reading these reviews I feel relief. She's not welcoming at allll... I sat down and she immediately insulted my eyebrows and how they grow naturally. She went on and on about how she's #1 threader in the area and how she doesn't think i looked hard enough before finding her because she's #1 on every platform. She proceeded to talk to her OG customers the rest of the time and ignore me.. avoid this place.. The service ended up being $24 for a five minute thread and insults. read more

I booked for brows and upper lip on the website. When I got there 10 mins early there was someone in her chair. She was talking with them for 20 mins! I kept looking at her and she would look away. When the people finally left I sat down and she would say things like, "you should wear your hair up to more. I'm black and have curly hair almost like a fro. I took offense to that obviously. Then she went on to say "it'll even out your brows." Interesting.. when she was done I asked her about my upper lip and she said "oh no we don't have time for that today." Aida is honestly one of the rudest people I've ever dealt with. Her complete lack of basic people skills and inflated ego make every visit so uncomfortable. She treats her clients like they're beneath her. I've been going to her for a while because there aren't many other threading options nearby. I'm always on time and the one time I was a couple of minutes late, she just sat there in her chair, super awkwardly staring at me, instead of addressing me like a normal person. Then she turned to the other client (who I assumed was before me) and passive-aggressively said, "I'm just waiting for her to get in the chair." It was insane. It's honestly baffling that people keep going to her, and I have no idea how she has even slightly positive reviews. She acts like her clients owe her something, but it's literally her job to create a comfortable, professional experience. If you don't want to deal with rude people, uneven brows, or have asthma or allergies, or avoid this place!!!!!! I'm sure the owner has a loyal clientele, but for her new customers, Aida doesn't care! I went to her twice and each time, it felt rushed. The second time, she screwed up the evenness of my brows. You know it is bad when she starts FILLING your brows with brow pencil and says some bs about your brows "genetically being uneven". Also, I have asthma and slightly coughed the proper way and she flipped out asking if I was sick. This happened both times I came to see her. She was very condescending about it. This threading salon had so many good reviews and I was curious to see what the fuss was all about. The Thread Bar itself is sort of hidden located on the second floor of a building. At first, I wasn't too sure if I was headed to the right place and just went on a whim and opened up a door to a room with a couple of people seated in it. Aida was very thorough and quick with my threading services. I do got to say though.. this was by far the quickest threading session I've ever had. It would have been nice to be handed a small mirror to review my eyebrows but it seemed like Aida was in a bit of a rush to get me moving along. I'm not one to write reviews often but I am super upset about the way my eyebrows look right now. Went to the thread bar earlier today, first time getting my brows threaded in Los Angeles. The owner was okay, not super friendly but okay. The first thing she pointed out was how rounded my face was and how we needed to add some sharpness to it. Did not ask how I wanted them done, did not draw the outline before, she just got started threading. Half way through it I could tell my face was looking different, a bit older and harsh. My eyebrows are naturally thick and have a nice shape to them. They have never looked so thin before today. I did not say anything at that moment because I thought it was just me or the lighting in there. But when I got home, my boyfriend immediately noticed and pointed out how much nicer they looked naturally. Well, after today I'll probably never get my brows threaded again and I definitely don't recommend this place. Wish I would've read the reviews before allowing this! It's so important to feel welcomed and to check in with customers before touching their eyebrows. read more
