It was really nice to not have to worry about the times and connections. Not that it would have been a huge deal, but when on vacation, I like to worry less about logistics. It is beautiful during the day but it is very pretty also at night as the area is well-lit and the statues and buildings look quite a bit different. It's always clean and well-kept and is open and a nice area to sit and enjoy the day or people-watch. We entered this time from the English Garden and walked through the gardens of the Munich Residence as well before coming through here on our way to Marienplatz and beyond. So it was a walking day for us but it's easy to see all of those things as you walk the city if you have time. A historic plaza to be sure and one you shouldn't miss if you are here.

There is a huge tower there and the museum. We entered and it is an awesome museum, lots of cool cars and even a BMW that Elvis owned. I loved the motorcycles and they even talked about their involvement in WW2. I didn't know they did jetboats, but....They made them. They even had a Mr. Bean type car on display. Ozzie did a wonderful job of taking us to places of interest, explaining the history and context of each location, and teaching us how to immerse ourselves into Bavarian culture. I've always known my ancestors were from Germany, but after taking Ozzie's tour I knew more specifically that they came from Bavaria. Back to Ozzie though, you can tell he loves his city and he loves Bavaria. You can't help but fall in love with his outlook on life and his city in the process. The views are amazing! Lana had lots of great information on the way up and was quiet on the way back because a lot of people were sleeping on the way home. We got to drive on the autobahn and I saw lots of Porsches going at least 100 MPH. The castle was awesome, it is about a 30 minute tour and at the pickup spot you can grab a nice red brat. The have beer too. Definitely an awesome trip you should take and try to get Lana as your tour guide!

The meeting point was easy to find and transportation was prompt and comfortable for the full ~9-hour round trip. Lana was our guide and easily one of the best I've ever had--witty, funny, and packed with idiosyncratic Bavarian facts. She kept us engaged and entertained the entire time, even including some adult only material. On the bus, keep your eyes peeled for cows, alpacas, deer, and CATS roaming the countryside. The castle and Bavarian scenery are breathtaking on their own, but Lana's local-born energy and storytelling made the entire day unforgettable. Professional, punctual, and genuinely entertaining--highly recommend requesting Lana for this tour.

There's a *humongous* amount of reading involved (on huge panels and on multiple floors), with lots of photos accompanying the information. Also, everything is translated into English. If you want to read everything (which we did) and really absorb it, you'll need several hours. It's not a museum for the casual visitor. Admission is currently free, and there's a good (somewhat small) bookstore.

Every tour guide I've had has been wonderful. These tours are affordable and a great way to learn a lot in a limited amount of time. Furthermore, they're also a great way to meet people, especially if you're traveling solo. I'd highly highly recommend these!
