Huge towering (literally) place! Parking across from the museum you'll see a showroom with new models and they've got a better souvenir shop in my opinion. Purchased tickets in advance so it was easy heading in. The museum exhibits are numbered as you wind through the halls. You get mildly lost at some points but it's a great history lesson on the BMW brand. I was surprised that on a weekend it was easily navigated, too. If you own a BMW and you're in Munich, it's a must do. Even if you don't own a Bimmer but are a gearhead, you'll appreciate some of the engines on display. Oddly, for the auto museums I've visited in Germany, my favorite is Mercedes in Stuttgart. The historical aspect of it made me appreciate it more. As with all things BMW though, the museum and exhibits were pristine. You certainly won't be disappointed.

I'm a big fan of German cars and I couldn't miss this opportunity to see the history of this great company. I loved all the sections (22 in total) and the unique iconic cars either design collaborations with Italian designers. Unique vehicles and entertaining displays. Loved it!

I've owned several BMW cars and motorcycles so on this trip to Munich I was determined not to miss the BMW museum. Even if you're not particularly into cars, this place is amazing! Over 3 floors of exhibits tracing back to the first cars ever produced up to their concepts for EV's and even a 3 story wall of suspended motorcycles, including their world renowned boxer engine. A self paced tour will take you through incredible displays technology and innovation and reveal things you never knew about BMW. Take a look at their early airplane engines or the cutest little car of all time - the Isetta. Highly recommend spending a few hours here. Buy a souvenir too!!

As someone that has been driving BMW for the last 20 years and only driven BMW's to say that I was excited to see this museum would be an understatement. It's located in beautiful Munich at the BMW headquarters. There is also the BMW Welt but you need tickets prior to arriving for that because that is mainly new vehicles and technology based where at the museum you can get your tickets at the door. We wanted to do the Welt but the ticket times were sold out so we just did the museum. It is very large and it's spread out over multiple floors with about 30 different exhibits. I saw each car that I have driven in there and learned a lot more than I did prior to entering. Pricing is fair and the exhibits are really well done. There used to be a Michelin star restaurant in there as well but that is no longer there but they do have a really nice gift shop when you enter. It's hard to name my favorite exhibit because they were just so many. I would highly recommend to any BMW fan or to anyone visiting Munich.

When you're in Munich visiting near Olympic Park check out the BMW museum. it's a short train ride from Munich. You don't need to buy tickets in advance but when you do visit, you'll have to leave your bags in lockers. There's also a small coffee shop when you enter the museum. It's a spiral downward walk as you look at the exhibitsmaking your way to the ground floor. It's a very educational experience on the history of BMW and you get to see some of their old technology and their feature technology. It's a half-day visit unless you're really into cars and want to know every detail about BMW.

Really cool place! Lots of cars. BMW, Rolls Royce and Mini Coopers. Some activities and so much to see. We didn't have time to do the tour so we will need to come back.

Second time here for me and it only gets better as they rotate the collection periodically. We wanted a guided tour but they were sold out even at a couple of months in advance. Display had a good amount of new and vintage that would satisfy any Enthusiast. You walk into a beautiful 1500 and1800 and the path provides a historic perspective mixing in the motorcycle collection as well a room with a few engines on display. We enjoyed the 3 series section that starts with a 1966 1600 and ends with a 2006 335i. The hanging logo plate display was impressive. The video room was a miss as although there was a film playing we couldn't hear any sound and weren't sure what was being shown. More cars are at the lower levels. 850, Z8, Z1, M1 and my favorite the 89 M3. One car that wasn't here last time is.Elvis' restored 507-displayed in a separate themed area. Light fare and coffee were available in the Cafe. The Gift shop was in the main building and had a good selection of merchandise and we picked some up. BMW park is a stop on the Gray Line Bus City Tour. Overall, a must visit when in Munchen!

As a BMW owner this was a must. The museum is awesome and one of the few times I have spent time reading the details about the items on display. I didn't take the factor tour because 1 1/2 hours just wasn't my cup of tea at that time. I'm not spoiling anything with pictures, so if in Munich you must check it out as well as the BMW Welt across the street.

You can do a guided tour which is an hour long. Our tour guide was great. Most questions we would have he answered when giving out the details of each respective room. Because we had a little time left at the end he was able to give us more tidbit info about BMW. This place is a must for car buffs or those that love history. There's so much information here in the museum about the cars. I didn't feel they had a lot of interactive activities inside the museum but the BMW Welt which is right across from the museum does. There is a cafe there. They do run out of things so be prepared just incase you visit them after the lunch crowd.

How can I go to Bavaria and not visit the museum of the BMW company? I've been to the Henry Ford Museum in Dearborn and a couple of other car museums. This is just as good as any of those. It's a beautiful building with two main setups. On the one side, a well organized exhibit spirals its way up from the ground floor to the fifth floor with a complete history of the company from its initial origins with its evolution through making airplane engines during the First and Second World Wars and into the modern age. It then goes beyond, talking about BMW's foray into electric and connected vehicles. I found it really interesting. The other side has several dozen of BMW's more famous and less famous vehicles, all in better than mint condition. Approachable but don't touch! The BMW i8, 323i, a 1963 BMW 1500 and my favorite, the 1939 BMW 328 with the swept fender. It's an amazing collection and well worth the time for anyone who has any interest in vehicles. Of course, there is a small cafe and a gift shop. The shop has several different sizes of model cars, BMW memorabilia and clothing. Prices were reasonable. [Review 12010 overall, 1793 of 2019.]

Why 5 stars? Because this was interesting, even for non-car buffs like ourselves. --- --- --- We were on a bit of a time crunch and arrived with only 35 minutes before the museum closed. When you combine the fact that we aren't super into cars and that we were very rushed in this experience, it would seem tough to fathom a 5-star experience coming from this. But really enjoyed it! As much as I enjoyed the cars, I was really amazed with the architecture of the building. Every corner that we turned was a new design surprise, which was engineered more perfectly than the highest end BMW in the facility. But as for the cars themselves, I think my favorites were some of the concepts. I really wish some of them had actually been made, especially the ones that looked like BatMobile's. I'm guessing there was good reason that those never saw the road, but it definitely wasn't because of their looks. Whether you're a huge car nerd... or not, this is definitely worth checking out when in Munich!

Let me tell you about it. Half the space consists of a cafeteria, a book shop, and rooms for workshops (aka students). There was a floor (if you could even call it that!) that was basic Jewish things like "What is a menorah?" "The holocaust affected Jews" etc. It felt like it was meant for German kids who have no idea what Jews are like to educate them but I didn't want to feel like I was at a museum for kids! The other floor was some awful artist who had boring black and white canvases trying to add humor in the paintings. Read my review and take it to heart and I will save you 6 euros. I have never left a museum in less than 30 minutes. Overpriced and should not be called a museum! On top of it there were a number of students (elementary to what looked like middle school) being loud and misbehaving and no staff member did anything about it. They were hanging out loitering around the steps, and on a couple incidences I heard them scream at each other and chase each other. If this was a kid's museum I would understand but it isn't.

It dispels some commonly-thought myths about Judaism as a whole and the Jewish population in Munich, focusing on the Holocaust and post-WWII life in Germany. The museum itself is full of facts about Jewish life from Germany's origins to today. Of course there is a great emphasis on life around and during WWII, due to the intense persecution of Jewish people during this time. However, hintings of anti-semitism are portrayed even well before WWII, showing the struggles they had to deal with over the generations. Many killed during the Holocaust are personally highlighted, featuring a short biography, picture, and sometimes their belongings. It is stated that this is to put a face to the large number, personalising the experience so they did not die in vain. There is also much emphasis on the Jewish religion itself and that which goes along with it, such as bar/bat mitzvah, Hanukkah, and death. Actual items pertaining to Jewish culture are featured, adding realism. While much of the museum features rather sombre themes of death and persecution, it is worth checking out nonetheless. It is definitely worth the time and money.
